    Hi, Jenn 언니 (: Next time you’re looking for the ”real” soft tofu look for the word ”순두부”. Koreans sell different types of firm tofu. The tofu you used in this video was the soft firm tofu which is usually used for 찌개s! The hard firm tofus are used for 전(Korean pancakes)! Hope this helps 🙂 Btw your videos always inspire me!

    I saw this comment months ago and today was confused why my “firm tofu” was soft as melted butter lol. Probably should’ve read the label a bit longer.

    In Singapore, soft tofu is like the one that you are using. Softer than soft tofu is silken tofu here.

    As a Korean, I was almost dying at the tofu part😂 I think the tofu was the one soft enough for “jjigae” bc it said it was for jjigae haha and this is my new fav video💕💕

    Non-Korean lover of kimchi here! Love it so much, I eat it straight out of the jar. Definitely need to be more patient so I can actually cook with it and use it in an actual meal.

    @@dopkasa.1171 It loses its probiotics at 115 degrees fahrenheit, so keep eating raw when possible. I can attest to loving kimchi soup, myself.

    @@beanindividual4000 Thank you for the note! Just looked it up and you are correct; sites stated that probiotics die off between 112 and 120 degrees Fahrenheit. If I want to preserve the probiotics in kimchi, they adviced adding the kimchi toward the end of the cooking or when the dish has been removed from heat.

    the tofu packaging literally says for 찌개 LOOL 찌개 needs firmer "soft" tofu so it doesnt crumble when it stews :)

    Jenn, in Brazil we eat açai bowl with Ninho milk and fruits, there are infinite combinations but this is the most common. it's a delight, I recommend

    Oyster sauce is defo my go-to whenever I cook my childhood fried rice as how my mum would cook them and it really makes a difference. Works like a charm!

    Thanks to Jenn I found my love for Kimchi Jjigae (swapped the tuna with pork belly and left out the onion and added more garlic) and spam fried rice. Both were sooo yuum. Love me some easy asian recipes!!

    Finally, someone gets me about the oyster sauce thing! I place oyster sauce on EVERYTHING: chicken, pork, fried rice. It's way better than soy sauce or fish sauce, it's amazing.

    Loved watching this. I’m not Korean but I love eating Korean food, and for some of these Korean dishes such as jjagae... I’ve always been curious how it was made. You break it down to a few ingredients:) and the added background dinner music is so point!

    Oh my gosh I finally made the Kimchi jjigae and it's so good! It actually tastes exactly like this Bangladeshi fish curry called Tenga that is made with onions, salt, garlic, tomatoes, tumeric and fish. It blew my mind that they have completely different ingredients but taste EXACTLY the same!

    Loved your emphasis on rationing. I’m trying to do that too. I love kimchi and tuna. I think I will enjoy that soup. Post more recipes using kimchi
