What doesn't kill you makes you stronger (or does it just leave them another chance to kill you...[oh gosh, I'm going to stop before I go too deep on this train of thought]). Looking forward to finding out which one offends me the most as I have taken six different tests and gotten six different results for my type!

It's about adhering to what you believe... and if you do, it's not really manipulation because you're still acting lawfully and within the boundaries of your own belief system. Just my thoughts. As "someone with strong INFJ tendencies" I have learned I can be an expert at this and its evil sibling, the poison pen. 😭 I've learned to write stuff down for myself and no one else and if I want to tear someone a new one, write it down, never send, and give myself 10 days to cool off, reframe, and/or go about it productively. Warren Buffett says a friend/colleague once told him "you can always tell someone to go to h-e-double hockey sticks another day". In other words, you haven't lost your chance, and it's always better to cool your jets and give your impulses more time to process, calm down, etc.

I never liked the phrase "Always thinking you are right." Since who knowingly believes something they also know to be untrue, that would just be insane. If you know it was wrong you would just change your answer to what you think is right and then be right again. A better descriptor would be "Unable to consider they might be wrong." of course this is also something I wouldn't describe myself as because I often consider this and as such would require a pretty convincing argument before I would change an opinion I have put so much thought into.

INFJ here, and I actually do get a lot of people who initially think I must be faking, or just trying to get them to like me. What they don’t grasp is that no, I’m not trying to get you to like ME. I’m trying to get you to like YOURSELF. And for you to be able to go out there and succeed. I very much enjoy the aggressive optimism line of “You WILL succeed. It is INEVITABLE.” I work at a trade school so it’s a lot of fun to watch people grow, and to help facilitate that. But it’s not fake. I TRULY want you to be the best you, and will work with you to help achieve it.

I have one life, there's no guarantee there's something after it, I wanna at least try to make impossible possible, safe life isn't fun nor satisfying and even if we don't succeed and regret trying, at least we had fun along the way and the road to achieving goal is more important than goal itself, but also emotional support to do it is important as well. Like I wanna mountain climb and drive a motorbike among other things and given my lazy safe way of life I might not succeed but I'd like to try cause sitting safely in safe job and safe house like this isn't making me happy. But at the same time everyone discourages me from it cause it's "dangerous" and I get demotivated and miserable immediately because of such opinions by others, especially people I care about, so I daydream about my goals instead and shut them and world out most of the time. If they only knew they are making me live miserable melancholic life by keeping me safe with their advices... I mean I tried to explain it to them multiple times but they just don't get it, their brain isn't wired that way. They are satisfied with rinse and repeat lifestyle and can't understand for the life of them why I don't like it too. Sigh...

So today my poor bf made pancakes, and I started to talk with him, and he frequently interruped me, because he wanted to ask me about the recipe of the pancake dough. I was really annoyed, because we INFPs hate to deal with boring practical stuff, especially when we are up to some important daydreaming or philosophizing. As an INFJ, yes, until we mature a bit more, we often play the chameleon. As we mature, we care less about pleasing others or fitting in. The whole trying to understand how everyone and everything works...the gut instinct of knowing how people operate...that never really goes away; it's both a blessing and curse. ;)

@@hidden_ki394 Depends on your life experiences. I spent a number of years studying to be a priest, where I interacted with people from all sorts of backgrounds: rich, poor, Christian, Muslim, atheist. And, I walked with people at their best and worst moments in life. Age doesn't really matter as much as experience with others because it lets you see who you are and strive to be; you begin to see that being true to yourself, being at peace with your conscience, is more important than others' opinions. For me, this started around 17, but it is different for everyone.

INFP here - Why discuss my feelings when they’re often so misunderstood and there’s nothing anyone can do to alleviate them anyway? I recognize my feelings are my problem and so I’ll do what I need to and try to process them. No need to involve someone else; unless I feel a breaking point has been reached and can no longer bear the inconsideration. I recognize some of those feelings may be silly, but they are still my feelings, I can’t help it. Patience please. 😂 As great listeners we try and understand everyone’s individual perspective, however, rarely (if ever) does that genuinely feel reciprocated. Also as great listeners, while we take in other people’s opinions, of course we won’t inherently adhere to advice. We don’t often share the full picture of what we see, only key things. And it is often in those undisclosed details where others advice usually fails. Others can’t see the full spectrum of our plans or what we aim to achieve with the decisions we make.

I love this video. You really take it from your own experience and perspective. You show it with vulnerability and humor. And it makes it that it doesn't feel like an attack, more like a humorous mirror. As an isfp, you just gave the nudge to get up and now I feel like making some art, how stereotypical XD. I am quite intrigued about how other types see us as lazy, because I have difficulty understanding my experience of laziness. I haven't felt that I am a lazy person. Rather the contrary. I do a lot of work on self-development and I can work crazy hard for anything I put my mind and heart towards, I try to put myself out of my comfort zone and try to figure out my ethics and how I see myself in relation to the world around me. This all takes a lot of energy XD. My challenge is doing /wanting to do too much. The result is that I sometimes just don't have space for some other things (mostly more repetitive maintenance stuff) and people say that I'm lazy. And then I think: well you are lazy, because you don't do this self-development or challenge yourself to get out of your comfort zone or whatever and you just blame the world around you for your (or the world's) misfortune or your negative emotions (or the world's negative attitude and behaviour). I call that lazy. xD. But seriously; from my perspective more types are as lazy, but just in other areas in there life.

As an infj i definitely agree about manipulation. I'll give a few examples that I do that I'm aware of. Maybe others can share too. 1. I pretend to agree with others and that I understand what they're saying just to keep them happy, relaxed, and to avoid confrontation due to disagreements 2. If there's something I want someone to try even though I know it's not their thing, but I know it would be good for them, I plan a way to get them to do it without them knowing it. Sometimes it works and the person never notices and sometimes it backfires and I get called out on it. 3. If and when i get called out on something, to avoid confrontation, I may lie and make up some excuse. Sometimes it works, and when it doesn't, I may play the victim but also reveal my true intentions behind why i did what I did and how I can't control it. Sometimes the person on the receiving end, understands and feels sorry for me and forgives me and I probably won't do it to them again or they call me out on it eqch time and I don't end up pursuing the plan I had for them. 4. Sometimes coming up with stories and lying to paint a specific image of me helps me avoid confrontation, punishment, judgement, etc. It's like a defense mechanism to hide my true self.

As someone who tries to be nice and isn't good at it, and who values honesty and has lied very few times, I appreciate your effort to be nice but this kind of thing makes me feel like I can't trust people. Being told a straight-up lie that you realize later was just the person trying to be nice (which has happened), that hurts me more than the person being honest or saying nothing. Maybe because I'm a thinker. No offense of course and thank you for sharing.
