What have I done!?! 😅🙈 My FIRST Lego Set | Hogwarts Courtyard: Sirius's Rescue 76401 🧙🏻‍♂️

Ойын-сауық

I tried LEGO for the first time in my adulthood! 🤩 I have to say, that I was very close to changing my channel name to Janette & Her Legos 😅🙈
Compared to jigsaw puzzles, Lego's are very much easy, with a VERY detailed step by step guide on how to complete it, which makes it more relaxing and enjoyable, because you know, you'll be able to get to the end of it! It's just a shame they're so expensive 😬

    Lego pieces for sets are bagged based on weight. Because the smaller pieces are so light and they can only calibrate the scales to be so accurate, they set the target weight a bit higher for these pieces. This means that you might get an extra of a few of them. Which is far better than getting one less than needed. It is just part of Lego's quality control.

    I like doing LEGO sets occasionally. It's just a nice relaxing thing to do, you don't really have to think too hard, just follow the steps and put bricks together. It's nice and the result is arguably even more display-able than puzzles! And yes, it's completely normal to have spares of some of the pieces :)

    Janette, I adore you and your channel. I’m not a fan of legos… probably because of all the pieces I stepped barefoot on when my boys were young. But I do enjoy your channel. And don’t mind that you are having fun doing these legos. So once again, thank you for a wonderful video. You are a favorite of mine. You are always so entertaining. Keep being your lovely self.

    I used to love doing Lego as a kid. I got some last year to try as I thought it could be something to do in between puzzling - nope I hated it! 😂 Not sure what it was but it just felt like more of a chore compared to puzzling being enjoyable and relaxing for me (well most of the time!) Anyway kind of glad in a way as can you imagine the cost of this on top of puzzling as well! 😂

    Really? That's interesting. I mean I guess they're completely different to puzzling, so I understand that you might not enjoy them, but for me, they were so much easier than puzzling 😅 The referring to the instructions probably takes the joy away, so I can understand you! They're too expensive for me anyway, so I'll just stick with puzzles too! 😁

    @@janetteandherpuzzles oh no I found them easy enough - in fact like you say they were too easy. I suppose when I say a chore I mean not enjoyable rather than being hard. It’s amazing how big Lego is though - I had loads as a kid and wish I had kept it all now - could have made a fortune! 😂

    Every single Lego set you buy will have spares, usually the small pieces. Done a lot of Lego in the past but not so much these days. I tend to do more adaptations or MOCs ( my own creations), although I don't do many of those now. My son does all these big sets which tend to take up space! I now stick to doing jigsaw puzzles for the most part.

    Thank you for letting me know! 😁 Oh wow, I used to do MOCs when I was a child - I don't think Lego sets really existed back then 😅 But they were just basic buildings and cars, nothing special. I'd love to try doing some as an adult, but it just seems like I'd need to have a lot of blocks, to be able to play around with it. It's easier to just stick with jigsaws, like you mentioned! 😂👌🏻

    I spend about the same time on Lego as on puzzling. But what I do is more challenging. I never buy new Lego, I buy it in bulk and don't really know what I am getting, there are usually many sets mixed up and partial sets. What I enjoy is being surprised by what I got and identifying the sets and then building takes quite a long time as the parts are all mixed up with other sets. I do sort them, but it still takes time to find all the parts I need for a specific set. It is good that all the instructions are online, so it doesn't matter that my Lego nearly never comes with the instruction leaflets.

  • @janetteandherpuzzles

    @janetteandherpuzzles

    Oh wow! I didn't know you can do that! 🤯 So if I understood correctly, there are multiple sets in one bag, with all the pieces mixed up, and you have to figure out which one is which, to then find the instructions online to be able to build it? It sounds intense, but also quite a bit of fun! I'm intrigued to know where you buy that from and how expensive it is 😅

    @@janetteandherpuzzles Yes, that's right. Many sets are incomplete though. I buy them from charity shops for about AU$25/kg that's about 15 euros. I did get quite a few Harry Potter sets like that. Still busy sorting my latest purchase about 14kg. I can see parts from many different sets in there. Quite a few of the parts weigh less than 1g, so in 1kg you can already have about a thousand parts.

    Legos are so much fun!! I've done a couple of the botanical series, the globe and the Starry night painting by van Gogh. I've got back into puzzling just recently and found your channel a few days ago; your videos are such nice quality! I just did one of the circle of colors puzzles whilst binging on your videos. 😄 Puzzling is getting more popular here in Finland too and we'll have our first nationals this year, but I'm far from taking part in competitions 😂
