Yep, the Tenere is top heavy! That's why I sold mine. Purchased a DR 650 For Off road riding and a Moto Guzzi V85TT for touring adventure riding. Enjoy.

That sounds like a great combination.

True that bruh
I haven’t ridden a T7 but I love my Transalp it’s so comfortable and really good on the road even with the 21 front wheel it handles really good and planted

Yes for sure. I had the T7 and loved it but now I have both the Transalp for the riad and some off road, and a Suzuki DRZ 400 for the rough stuff.

Smart thinking Martin. I recon your going to enjoy your Transalp Heaps. Especially after watchin this guy take his "Tula," crazy places without dropping her.

Hahahaha, Yes watching "Tula" was part of my decision making.

Yes for sure. Great engines.
Great choice!! Although I think the t7 would be perfect if it was a lil lighter with 90hp. I know I know , just saying.

@@HardPackedADV just imagine it with 17’’ inch rims to boot, the perfect bike. Ok, I’m done. Great job on the content, looking forward to seeing more.
New sub from a fellow moto 'tuber in wet and windy Scotland. Good grief, I've forgotten what the sun looks like. Thanks for the memories. 🤣 Scrabbling about for a final 18 subs to join YPP, feel free to help a guy out 🙏

@HardPackedADV many thanks, hugely appreciated!
If it was me I would have just replaced the tenere wheels to 17s and made a super moto of it for road touring 😊

@@JohnBorgJacob aye, but he was talking about road touring! I've test ridden a tracer 7, loved the engine but tbh it's a bit too lightweight for touring, and the passenger has no space. But it'd boogie through the bends like a boss...
can you tell me what brand is the bash plate?

Here's a link to a video I did on a B&B, sorry very bad sound file. I will be redoing this video. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dKJ2qbeAnpXJebw.htmlsi=AhmsNQ9Ys6oJ2OLW
100% agree. This bike, given the cost for a new one and if used mostly for touring, is just a great deal. Left the comment to push algorithms🙂

Right on!
The Transalp is the better bike, for the majority of bike adventurers. The Transalp is way lighter, even though it is the same weight as the Tenere. That means it is just more balanced. The Transalp is much nicer visually except for the headlight. The Tenere is plain ugly, except for the headlight. I have always said the Tenere is so top heavy, and unwieldy, not made to accommodate the rider, especially off road when you fall. Difficult to lift, and a real liability for injury, or getting stranded.

I have had more fall and injuries when riding the T7 than on any other bike, and we are talking over 40 years of riding. I am not sure if it was the bike or if I pushed it beyond my ability. Love the Transalp.
Hey Buddy! Need some Advice: So, I'm split between getting a pre-owned Tiger 900 Rally Pro (2021/5K kms) and a new Transalp. I know spec-wise they are Oranges and Apples. My riding usage is city and touring; My riding style is pretty Hooliganish. So, here in India (no T7s, Tuaregs or KTM 790/890s here. Even the Honda AT comes in a lowered suspension model) the Tiger 900 Rally is the bike that checks all the boxes. The Maintainance Costs are the Only Red Flags. So, enter the Transalp: it's light and nimble: makes for a good project bike - rally seats, suspension upgrade etc along with Honda's reliability and affordability. Also, makes for a better Daily Do-it-All. So, What would you suggest?

I think that you will find that the Honda is easier and possibly cheaper to service, and yes it is quite nimble especially in traffic. The Tiger has lots of tech that is great for the more off road style of riding. To me the Transalp is like a over grown KLR 650 but with so much more power. Transalp for touring and Tiger for more gravel road riding.

@@HardPackedADV Your points in favour of the Transalp are absolutely spot-on! My only concern is whether its Suspension-Chassis can withstand the kind of abuse and stress on fast-aggresive riding during off-road riding (not technical trails but straight out bad rough patches) that the Tiger 900 RP can?

I already have a KTM 390 for city duties (although I'd love to be able to use the new bike also (that's where the Tiger 900s engine heat becomes a concern! I believe the 2024 is going to lessen this to some degree; not to mention the bump up in power). The 2nd bike is primarily for Touring (and India that means lots of long rough patches that I'd like to just Stand and Destroy!) Lastly: Reliability and Affordability is also a point to consider.
