7:25 That face damn near broke my heart. Kailey is one miserable looking baby. The poor girl doesn't ever look happy. Now THAT is truly heartbreaking. I feel so incredibly bad for her.

This is so heartbreaking, poor kailey. She just wants her mom.

I so wish Rudy could of had a child of her own. She would have made a amazing Mom.

I'm still praying kailey will survive both physically and emotionally. As for gypsy I think the kids would be better off without a abusive and greedy mom. If gypsy looks guant and skinny then maybe she's reaping what she sowed. She needs to know how it feels to be hungry. 😞

meme60knotty meme60knotty Gypsy is almost at the very bottom of the hierarchy of her troop. She is very gaunt and you can see how deflated her mammary glands are in comparison to the higher ranking mothers. She can barely forage for enough food to keep herself alive let alone the string of babies she has year after year. Kailey is clean and well groomed and she is being looked after by a series of babysitters and/or aunts. She may not get to nurse at will as long as higher ranking babies but her mother has successfully raised each of her babies to adulthood and they are a generally close knit, well behaved bunch.

Since Kailey is malnourished and her hand is infected, this could be the reason she died.

Gypsy is such a strict mom, and mean too. Kinda like Anna is to Anissa.

She didn’t make it. :( It was probably just an accident or something random, though. She was old enough to be out of the woods.

Judging by Kailey's noticeable shivering, she likely has a fever.

It seems like the times Gypsy is an attentive mother correspond with her looking healthy. I’ve always thought there’s much more to it than just being a mean mom. There’s so much we don’t understand about what they experience. Also, note that the two “meanest” moms that everyone loves to hate on, Gypsy and Tina, are both at the bottom of the barrel rank-wise. They probably don’t have the luxury of being super indulgent mothers when their survival and health are always on the line.

Yea, I stared watching his videos because I like watching baby monkeys play. But once you get to know a particular baby monkey it's hard to watch him or her be upset or neglected. Gypsy's maternal instinct seems to cover basic survival and not much in the way of care, compassion and tenderness. Some of these mothers are capable of an amazing amount of love and compassion for their babies. Reddy is pretty much my idea of the picture perfect monkey mom. She's very loving and tender and patient but has her limit. Her limit usually just means a nip. I don't think I've ever seen her be unnecessarily harsh to her young. I find it hard to not attach human qualities to them. They're animals and wild ones at that. They don't see things the way we do. That doesn't make it easy when I see Gypsy seem so unloving to her baby girl, especially when we see examples like Reddy who seems very loving. Gypsy being so low ranking has a lot to do with how she is towards her young but we see other low ranking mothers be far kinder so it starts to get murky when I see Tina steal food from her baby's mouth who's already nearly starving to death. I want to reach through the screen and slap her one when I see that.

Tina is a way better mom than Gypsy. She wouldn't neglect her kids.

Looks to me baby Kailey's mom has baby on a feeding schedule. It's refreshing to see baby just wait when mom says "No" and not attack and fight mom like other Troupe babies do.

Yes I agree or see them thrash the bodies all over the ground in their temper tantrums and screech because mom said no.

It's a pity that those who sterilize won't use Mr Marisco's expertise to point out the best candidates for sterilization. If sterilization will happen, it makes sense to sterilize the reluctant mothers such as Gypsy and Nora.

I've almost completed watching every video you have made, and Gypsy has never bit any of them before drawing blood. All mom's bite their fingers. I still think the "aunt's" need to mind their own business.

Then you clearly haven't seen enough of Gypsy, she's a horrid mom. Weaning her kids wayyy before they can fend for themselves. Is weren't for these Aunt's not minding their business, her kids would have no one to really care for them. Gypsy should be sterilized.

Our troop seems to be quite a mess. Is it just me or do they all look rather skinny and/or injured. Has our troop fallen on some hard times? Wish you could set up a fund so we can contribute to you and help to care for them. I know everyone asks and it would be quite the responsibility for you but our intentions are true... Huh? Rhesus don’t even eat meat. Licking the wounds of their babies is as natural a part of mothering for macaques as nursing or grooming. I think it’s a bit much on AM’s part to project that much conscious intent, but she’s not licking the wound because she likes blood lol. That’s ridiculous.

Poor little darling, all she want's is to nurse and she's begging. Her eyes are starting to look sunken from dehydration. Gypsy needs to get birth control or fixed because she's not a good mum.

Mom will nurse her when she is ready, when she has milk. This monkey babies are persistent. They need to learn discipline, otherwise it will cost them their lives. We have seen some babies die already.

She needs to get caught in the cage so she can be fixed. She doesn't want the poor things. I have a heart I just feel sorry for the babies who don't get much attention to the babies. I saw one where she was letting kneely and kailey was crying
