    "I'm not pointing fingers at the modern monarchy" But you could. Queen Elizabeth II is married to her 2nd and 3rd cousin. 2nd and 3rd, because they're both descended from another pair of royals who were cousins that got married.

    This is why purebred dogs are actually terrible. It's the reason why pugs and bulldogs and all those "show" breeds have so many health problems. Because they're bread with their own parents and siblings. If these dogs were allowed to breed with healthy, stronger dogs like they're meant to then yeah the world would be full of mutts but they would be healthy and strong and wouldn't have cancer, tumors, joint problems, and all those other health problems common in purebred dogs

    what's also troubling is that when pure breeds actually out breed there may be more defects due to a diffrnt set of genes messing up the sequence of inbreeding. This is more blatant in human breeding, but dogs may also show mange and other diseases that may show through recessive genes that come out through confusing them. the traits that come through in characteristics that share with out breeding would be better.

    Guess what Hannah-Banana? Pakistan is a predominantly Muslim country which was founded literally to be a Muslim country. Pakistani immigrants are almost entirely Muslim. The cultural practice of marrying your cousin (while not exclusive to Islam) is certainly Islamic... It's also worth pointing out that an overwhelming majority of Muslims in the UK are Pakistani. Do you need help putting 2 and 2 together, sweetheart?

    I actually know of two cousins who got married and had a kid who are originally from the middle east. Their kid was diagnosed with diabetes type 1 before he even turned 2 years old, which was 20 years ago. Apparently one of their great aunts had juvenile diabetes and the poor kid inherited it from both parents. No one else has had diabetes type 1 in their family to this day.

    The British royal family has had no inbreeding in its recent history; the last important first cousin marriage I'm aware of was in 1840. Queen Victoria married Albert of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha, her first cousin, so her children would be able to make matches in Germany and thereby UK could actively support German unification. Most incestuous marriages are for political reasons like this rather than blood purity. Mary Queen of Scots and her half cousin Darnley are another good example of political intermarriage

    *I used to have a friend who married her twin brother but it was completely by accident. The 2 had been separated at birth and were never told about each other being twins until after she was pregnant. She kept her son and he had the opposite of what's in this video, he is highly intelligent and speaks several languages at just 10 years old and is already studying advanced subjects at advanced levels such as trigonometry. I guess he was lucky. Anyway, they had already been in love for several years before their son was born and even after finding out, neither could just up and walk away. They remained married until she passed away 5 years into their marriage*

    I feel so so so bad for the offsprings of inbreeding. They suffer the most for having painful diseases throughout their life. A baby i saw in a show have a skin disease and when the doctor said it's because of inbreeding from generation(s) before her and she has no idea. :(((

    I feel bad for cousins who are in love but are forced by society to not be together because of a relatively small increase in the probability of some diseases. The worst stuff is rare, mainly only happens when inbreeding lasts generations.

    Inbreeding dogs is horrible. I love German Shepherds and really want one in the future, but so many of the ones desired for shows have a sloped back and bad hips so have to be put down early on. What I find is even more disgusting than purposefully inbreeding dogs, is that he judges at dog shows pick the defective ones, which further makes people want ones bred with sloped backs, or domed heads etc. Disgusting how they breed them for aesthetics instead of having a long healthy life.

    I’m glad you brought up dog breeding in this video, because honestly it’s a good place to look for the affects of inbreeding. Since dogs in general are a species obviously, but dog breeds are not even a real thing. I probably sound silly saying that since they certainly exist, but without humans selectively breeding specific dogs to get a set of “desired” traits (I put that in quotations because whose idiotic idea was it to breed bulldogs? It’s sick), dog “breeds” wouldn’t exist. I love different breeds and whatnot as much as the next person, they look cute and all, but there is a long list of diseases that different “purebred” dogs are prone to get. The best chance of producing healthy offspring is from a variety in each parent’s DNA. If you take two people with DNA that is very similar, there is a much larger chance of a full mutation (disease) being present in the offspring. With a variety, if one parent has a mutation or is a carrier for the mutation while the other is not, the offspring will at most be a carrier. Which you basically explained but sometimes I need to type things and feel like I’m contributing to whatever. Anyway

    I have been breeding rats for about 3 years now and have had many liters. I have had ONE inbred litter to document and one boy was born with 2 penises and his anus was like open and in the middle of his nut sack. He lived until he started weaning. He had trouble passing any solid food and I had to put him down because he was in too much pain. The sad thing is, I have had so many other rat breeders try to tell me that inbreeding is necessary to breed healthy rats. I think it's sick. I started breeding rats because of how pet and feeder rats are so cruelly bred.

    +frosted1030 Actual some genetic research suggest that at one point early in human history there was a catastrophic event that nearly made humans go extinct and population bottlenecked. Some estimate put it at only 20 or so breeding pairs. So if every one of the 7 billion people on earth today descended from around twenty breeding pairs, then their had to be some inbreeding there.

  • @frosted1030

    @frosted1030

    Factoid "Some estimate put it at only 20 or so breeding pairs." Even if that were the case, that's a far cry from Noah's children inbreeding for generations to repopulate. It would only begin with brother-sister, father child, and mother child, then branch out to other siblings, with that model, they would be dead within less than six generations, not to mention awkward at every family picnic.. "This is my new wife/mother/half sister/cousin.."

  • @ltericdavis2237

    @ltericdavis2237

    frosted1030 It still leads to massive amount of inbreeding for several generations. And there is the "out of Africa theory," where most of the non-African populations descended from a single female, but I know a lot less about that.

    Here's something that bothers me; I recently did my family tree (no, it has all its branches, thank you). Anyway, I have my two parents, mom and dad. They have two parents each, now 4 people. Carry on, 4 people need each need a mom and dad, so there are 8 ancestors, then 16 ancestors before, then 32 and on into an apparently divergent infinite series of ancestors. There comes a point where that divergent set cannot continue because there are simply not that many humans on the planet. Therefore, are we all the results of some kind of inbreeding in the far past, or am I missing something in this logic?

  • @zg6879

    Karmic Reballance ill give you my messed up biblical theory: so, according to the bible, we started with adam and eve, who had two sons, one murdered the other, now there is only one. But if you read genesis thoroughly, youll see adam and eve continued to have more sons and daughters, and their murderer son was exiled, but then later read he suddenly has a wife. If that was the first family ever on earth, then that pretty means he must have married one of his own sisters, or maybe a niece? Regardless, this is how they multiplied. Back to my theory...christians believe everyone is born a sinner. So sin was very fresh and new back then, so could that mean there was very little amounts of sin in our DNA? and nowadays everyones DNA is bursting at the seams with sin... perhaps sin is the cause of diseases, disorders, syndromes? And incest or any other form of inbreeding is pretty much a guarantee that you're sinning lol so that poor baby is a product of the sins of the father.

    Indians are very diverse in every way. They have Caucasian blood as well as mongloid genes too and many more.. for ex: the Northeast Indians. All different kinds of people due to having a long past of civilization (although in present time most countries are westernized). One of the first to build civilization (now lost in the past, Indus valley civilization) So possibly a very mixed gene pool of ages of different breeding. Do some research.

    Wouldnt inbreeding lead to amplification of "good traits" too if it is present in the blood size? Like if the family have a gene for larger brains, mating with others might cause that gene to be gone in a few generations, but by inbreeding, that specific gene could be amplified leading to larger brains for generations down the road? While bearing all the risk of genetic diseases, there is also a chance to amplify positive traits? Kind of like high risk-high reward if done right?
