I feel like they purposely put it like that. They didn’t want to add on this feature in the first place. So adding problems would make most people not change it, in fear of losing content on their acct.

Apparently I just lost friends from changing my name. On their screens it says we aren't friends while it says we are friends on mine. When I message them, they can see it but when they message me I can't see it. Wtf Edit: my problem just got resolved but I had to report it and wait a month for it to fix . Make sure you report it if you have this problem

Will it effect games like Battlefield V Ghost recon wildlands Black ops 4 Division 2

So a couple years ago I moved from America to London, and i had to change my region. At the time I was still able to play Destiny 1, but deleted it after a while for storage space. I've checked my saved game data history and it has completely disappeared from my game history. Tried re downloading and my old account didn't show up, which was to be expected. I'm pretty sure its gone for good, but if theres any help for anything I could do to get it back, I would defo love to hear it

I was a bit scared too to change my username, but if you guys want to make sure you don’t loose progress, make sure you have the saved data you want to continue on is on that account, check your transaction history to help make sure too, and change the name. Some of my call of duty progress stayed, and I don’t have an ugly username anymore . :)

I just purchased a name change and it is not changing in any way. I have signed our and back in and theres no name changed at all

Anyone tried this with AC Odyssey? I haven't seen it on any list from Sony as being tested with or without any issues. The last thing i want is to lose any progress from a game I already spent 100+ hours on. And also, want to know if this change affects trophy progress? For example, if i was halfway through completing the "complete all underwater locations" trophy, would it pick up right where i left off and the trophy still pop up as it normally would have, even after changing my name ?

I was skeptical to change mine especially because the majority of the games I play use Virtual currency such as 2k and fortnite that I did not want to lose however I took the risk and nothing happen. Don’t allow these videos to discourage you if you really want to change your psn name and you’ve been waiting for as many years as me to do so the go for it

Thanks for the info for gta5. I'm on ps4 and want to change my lame ass name I picked when I was high like 10 years ago. It's Dude101p lol I'm sick of racing and people saying "dude why u hit me?" or "dude! You took me out why? That was a shitty move dude!" lol and I'm over here like, I didn't touch u man! I would hope to not take risk of losing anything if I can change my name on psn as I always had to be sure to put save datas on cloud storage or USB flash drive / portable drive unless reverting back lost everything. Good thing I didn't got games that can cause issues like gta v and all my games I got is no effect to get issues and hopefully newer games release recently like from 2019 won't be any much trouble.
