There are a lot of developers who aren’t so smart. A few years ago in Destiny 2, Bungie put a complex puzzle together that players would have to solve in order to navigate a maze to advance a quest. They figured it would take weeks to figure out. The playerbase pooled their resources together and solved it in 4 days. Bungie didn’t even have the advancement for the quest line installed yet 😪

Considering how carefully you would have to fight, I like to think it's just Kratos reverting back to his old mortal fighting style and tactics, since mortals can be easily killed and have to fight tactically and carefully. Since Kratos was already a master of combat as a mortal, that would not be a difficult thing for him to do - simply outclass every threat.

Well I didn't die on my first run and got the throne cutscene. But the ennemies were clearly not as hard in my game, they were normal level. I wasn't playing the game in easy mode either so I don't understand.

@@TimoxR2 I don’t find it to be hard unless you’re playing on the 4th or 5th difficulty, and I switched to lower difficulties during the 3rd act for echoes and to complete more chosen and it got ridiculously easy but I also had upgrades by then so I’m not sure what happened for you.

Nice to see that Kratos potentially can beat Valhalla without dying I feel like the sense of unstoppable force the character had in the Greek Saga kinda got lost in the Norse one, I'm fine with it since "he is holding back" and there aren't many gods to face, the story focus is about other stuff But here Valhalla pretty much kill Kratos multiple times over with fodder enemies and there are lines about it, so it's nice to see that You can hypothetically make Kratos beat Valhalla without losing too much of it

@@username.exenotfound2943 According to the devs, gods get strong as they get older, and Kratos is holding back alot because if he stops holding back or loses himself in blind rage, he'll end up killing someone, and its happened once again. I feel that Valhalla is what'll help him.

Well done! While I suspected a no death run was possible, I had a feeling the headaches were checkpoints that forced a stop to the current run.

Inscryption does a similar thing for the first few runs, you aren't technically allowed to get too far, but with enough skill you can get past the roadblocks, but it isn't easy and doesn't provide any unique dialogue

​​@@adrianortiz8751Kratos (in actual canon) had help when escaping death. First Zeus kept a passage open for him in GoW1 when Ares killed him. Then Gaia heals his wound and gives him the strength to crawl out in GoW2. Death earned Kratos already but he luckily had help both times. And it wasn't bare handed, he used the blades both times as well. He did bare hand climb Chronos for like a week straight in GoW1 though

Freya: "You marched into Walhalla without even talking to us?" Kratos: "I did, and I BEAT Valhalla until it surrendered and released me"

You get that cutscene (Freya scolding you) regardless of if you pass the trial first try or die. But that was awesome staying alive through the entirety with those tougher level (red health bar) enemies. Nice job

When I got the last one the game was pretty clear that there were still optional stories to tell and achievements to make. They should have made a 100% completion trophy. Even on easier difficulties it would be quite an amount of work because lowering the difficulty decreases your loot.

​@necrago COOLDOWN, not charges. It does have a cooldown before it lets you use the next one. But also, the ??? Collector's Memories Perk has to be dismantled in the menu before its active, which is a unique interaction that should be specified.

Gameplay tip to OP: mashing triangle until the attack is fully charged takes the same time as the method you applied, but it deals more damage, knocks enemies up, apply flames effect AND the blades rotating also count as an attack. I spammed it my way through Valhalla.

For future reference you dont need to attack again after the instant triangle charge attacks, the vibration is just hard to differentiate from the rest but getting good at it makes you faster

I watched a second person on youtube do it. ( I don't know if it is everything cos they entered battle and the dialogie cut out. Man these KZreadrs are annoying ) But it went : Mimir : One thing though brother. When you said Freya didn't value you the way you value her. That come surprisingly close to resembling the language of unrequited love. Kratos : you know better. Mimir : I do. An impossible pairing. For any number of reasons. Just the same. It's obvious to any observer that you two deeply care for each other. Kratos : She is an important ally. & a dear friend. Disappointing her is difficult. But what she asks of me - I Mimir : Makes you think she only finds you useful. I see. Well, i cant speak for her.

That's From Soft level of foresight and respect for the player. Someone is ALWAYS going to find a way to beat it, so you invariably have to justify getting them back into where you need them to be. But throw in a little treat as a reward. My favorite is in Sekiro, the first boss, if beaten, shows his true colors early as one who has little value for honor and fairness, when he has a ninja distract you during a cutscene so that he still severs your arm

You know, since Kratos went to Hades in his travels, that may explain to an extent how he was allowed to travel in Valhalla. I know Tyr was the one to help get him in, but my point is that may be the leverage Tyr used to get him access.

been playing this dlc on the hardest difficulty lmao. For me i need to earn my win through this hell of a dlc 😂 the amount of tries it takes to reach the final battle in each cycle LOL. But once I did reach the final battle in the first cycle and won, i actually managed to make it through the final battle in the second cycle without dying and won as well. Almost won in the third cycle but damn messed up on the timing 😢. I’m learning the fighting pattern tho for this cycle

I watched a second person on youtube do it. ( I don't know if it is everything cos they entered battle and the dialogie cut out. Man these KZreadrs are annoying ) But it went : Mimir : One thing though brother. When you said Freya didn't value you the way you value her. That come surprisingly close to resembling the language of unrequited love. Kratos : you know better. Mimir : I do. An impossible pairing. For any number of reasons. Just the same. It's obvious to any observer that you two deeply care for each other. Kratos : She is an important ally. & a dear friend. Disappointing her is difficult. But what she asks of me - I Mimir : Makes you think she only finds you useful. I see. Well, i cant speak for her.

There is no different dialogue even if you survive, for example if you die early you will get the dialogue you supposedly had in the survive run on the next run.

It just flows from victory and/or death scenes, into the scene of waking up on the beach. Saved you 8 minutes

I do find it a little badass that Kratos just forced open the door to Valhalla. You could physically see it trying to keep Kratos out, and like a chad Kratos just goes "Open"

I got this far on Give Me God of War on my first run, I didn't think much of it. I just assumed everyone had to get that far at some point, see the scene, die, and do it again. Lol. This also unlocks a Mimir trope, eventually he says, "Goodbye (I think hes talking to Sigrun). I'll see you when Kratos dies again, or gets a headache"

You get the dialogue regardless of not surviving, it’s scripted in the game to be said. Sorry for not leaving it but it’s nothing special for just surviving you will get it anytime you start a new game. If you want to know they just talk about how he thought she was using him while he values her for her. The dialogue is present in every run.

I've played on the highest difficulty after maxing everything in Valhalla, and I'm sorry, but VGS (Video Game Sophistry) saying King Hrólf on Give Me Mastery is impossible to beat by the devs is bullshit. I did that on my first try and I picked the path of the Axe. I find him to be just as easy on GMGOW as he is on GMM, with or without NG+.
