You need to try a combination of series and parallel hook up on the power banks. You have them all in parallel so that basically makes it one giant power bank with all those in tandem. No voltage increase just ampere hours or current. But with a parallel and series hookup you can increase the current and voltage. You need to hook up like 2 bunches of 5 power banks in parallel like you did there. Then between the 2 sets hook up the positive lead to the other cluster's negative lead. Then hook up the 2 unconnected positive and negative leads to your charger plug.

There's probably some sort of safety limiter on the iPhone that prevents it from being able to charge it more than it's designed to. I imagine if it goes beyond that, it could be a fire hazard or maybe a detriment to the battery's life span.

well, by using a a lightning cable that's not mfi certified and does not have the power limiting chip, you could theoretically do that

Basically your increasing the capacity of the power banks like that so you have 200,000mah in that cable

Actually you'd fry the charge controller circuit in multiple power banks before it would even output to the phone itself. If not that, the charge controller would cut off before it even got a chance. Power banks in series aren't like connecting batteries in series. As noted, the PB's have charge controller IC's. Those would likely get toasted first.

Weird hooking different voltage sources in parallel. One of them might be 5.05v and the other 5.01v and so the larger voltage will feed current into the lower voltage one depending on how they’re designed. Since its likely a boost converter topology, theres a diode stopping that. If it was a straight up battery, “backfeeding” would be an issue.

Prepare a series connection and then we can talk. The way you connected them provides same voltage as a single. This is why people should know physics. 😂😁

@@damontan4749 Of course it is possible, silly. A USB port has 4 connections, & the middle two i.e D+ and D- are responsible for charging. Connect D- of one power bank with D+ of another, this way you can prepare a series connection. Of course you can't plug the USB port as a whole 🙄, you needa separate it.

Why am I excited to watch this lmao

I get the average person has no comprehension of how this works, and I suppose that makes this entertaining. However, the thing people call a 'charger' is NOT a charger. Those batteries are simply providing power, typically 5.0VDC. The phone has the charging circuit in it, and it regulates the charge power. As long as the one battery can supply as much power as the phone is designed to take, it will never charge faster no matter how many you add. iPhone 12 will only charge at around 15W max, and most midrange or better battery banks will do that with just one.

There is inbuilt charging circuitry which can have high resistance to stop the current ever making the power go past it's recommended limit. Techrax has no clue about what he's doing

Pointless video from someone who dose not understand that the phones have built in charging circuitry. You could plug it into a USB connecter to the 5V port on a nuclear power reactor and the phone wouldn’t charge any faster. 🤦🏼

Absolutely. Any somewhat well engineered electronic device will have current limiting circuits built in as well as overcharge safety circuits like crowbars and suppressor diodes. This is done for overheating protection as well as general circuit protection. And of course all power banks will have the same capacity after the test because they are connected in parallel, so assuming the resistance between every power bank and the phone is the same the currents would be too.
