Volts dont matter anyway, it has limiters to how much wattage it can receive and it only takes in enough to allow the flash to run - so obv does nothing

@@dannygarden464 youd have to tweak on the device to draw 3 amps, but i guess thatll just blw the circuit since it wont have a fuse that goes beyond its own limit so typically it wont end up drawing 3amps in the first place (and if it doesnt itll burn the board). Tbh forcing a 3amp in itself by trying to tweak the usb already defies the test of trying it by itself onto a power plug anyway

It doesn't matter if its rated 5V 3A or 5V 30A, the amp rating is what the charging supply can offer, the device will not be damaged. It simply means the device can at most withdraw that much amp from the charging supply.

Also most of devices have current controller built in. So the only a little bit dangerous thing to do would be to plug USB into unplugged charger. There might be come charge left in capacitors that would give a short impulse for the USB. But while it would be the same 5V idk if it could actually do sth.

I did this when I was like 5 It's a stupid experiment. What the hell did you expect to happen? You really expect something to go wrong with the flash drive when connected to an approved USB device (the charger) that's been fully tested to comply with USB standards and regulations? If your phone can charge fine, then the flash drive can char- uh... Just kind sit there... fine. I only watched the video cause I expected something funny to happen, like he intentionally messed with the charger to make the flash drive explode or something. Then pretended like he didn't do anything. Now that would be interesting. Obviously fake, but Interesting.

Ofc nothing would happen. The adapter your using turns the 120v or 220/240v if ur in Europe into a small 5v, which isn't enough to even burn out the drive. I don't suggest removing the adapter though and using a homemade one because that can cause a circuit break, a fuse to go out if u have an older house or the item to catch fire or emit smoke. I am assuming this is a usb 2.0, so then there are 2 power and 2 data lines in it. The usb is just being powered but nothing is happening. The 2 data lines in the middle would either be connected to ground or nothing.

Data lines on usb chargers are shorted together because apple devices can't charge without that jumper. And also the client device always dictate the current to charger if it needs 1 amp it draws 1 amp and no more. So if you connect your drive to a 5v 1000000A charger... still nothing happens.

I'm expecting you saying "Wow! The capacity increased from 8GB to 128GB!" and I'm going to correct you.

When you plug it in your computer your computer does the same as the charger,there are 2 wires that power the usb and other 2 are for data transfer .In this case you are just powering the usb
