What Happened to the Mirror Enterprise (Explained)

A true hero of the Terran Empire. .... and yet somehow, even though Humanity had an actual Vulcan ship to reverse engineer _in their possession,_ they still came up with the NX-Enterprise design.???
Completely accidentally by the writers given how often they keep going back to the idea the Mirrorverse is actually a danger, but I love that "A Mirror Darkly" basically amps the Terran Empire by giving them huge tech boosts (TWICE), but it just means the Mirrorverse is constantly the slow kid falling behind the Primeverse again and again. Even in weapons tech, as seen by the DS9 Defiant plans being used to make a scrounged ship with a rookie crew still being able to solo a Mirror Alliance fleet.

Not all cultures have the same relationship with historical artifacts as Western culture. The Japanese famously believe in restoring them to their original appearance (check out the 1000 year old Japanese sword). Some don't value them at all compared to replicas, which would be very easy to create in-universe. A bit off topic but honestly, I'm with the Japanese on this one. I truly don't care for all the accumulated gunk and rot most European and American collectors seem to love. What's more ridiculous is that they think anyone who doesn't love it is "defiling" the historicity of the artifact. They want you to believe that all that gunk and rot and faded paint is the one real way to appreciate an artist's craft despite the artifact not looking in any way whatsoever like what the artist intended.

The way you have to look at it, why the Enterprise looks different in different series; It's like a story being told by someone and the story is crafted based on what they think something looks like. If this was a historical document and five different people read that document. Each of them would translate it just slightly different. And think if they put on a performance based on what they read, Each of those performances would be different based on what they read.
I saw the Season 5 episode called 'Specchi' where the crew of Discovery found the I.S.S. Enterprise trapped in an interdemensional wormhole and they used the ships tractor beam to pull the ship out and it was Discovery's chief engineer Paul Stamets who recognized it and the look on everyone's face including Lt. Tilly and either Adira or Gray who were standing next to her when they heard what Stamets said and the look on everyone's face as they were all thinking the same thing 'how the hell did a Terran Warship from the Mirror Universe get here' and after Captain Michael Burnham and Book came back onboard they probably told the crew about it.
I really enjoyed this video, thank you for a entertaining lore

@@shattered_helix Honestly, with refinements of what we know they can do it should be readily doable. Heck phase cloak most of a ship and add a holographic sheath and you fly around in what looks like a shuttle to all sensors but have internal space that makes the Galaxy Class look like an Oberth, which most of it would park under the surface of any planet you land on. If the neutronium hull thing is legit, then you can use that insane mass to simply BUILD huge ships as needed.

That might be banned in Discovery. Due to it being dimensional technolgoy.
There should be another parallel dimension where Starfleet is *pragmatic* but not *xenophobic.* And things are much better there in that Universe. They have more advanced tech since when they find something useful they run straight back to Starfleet Engineering HQ with it. They keep up a very strong military fleet... but one thats not used for Conquest but peacekeeping. And it's effective at that, it's a bad place to be a bad guy. So Starfleet is not caught off guard (repeatedly) by a peace dividend. And no fracking anti-cloaking treaty terms. The Prime Directive would also be *Pragmatic.* No watching while a pre warp species becomes extinct, there's a clause "To prevent extinction, the Prime Directive can be ignored." And there's a a specialist fleet of giant transport ships with cryogenic/stasis facilities to relocate if necessary. Every pre warp species has a dedicated cloaked defence and observation ship/fleet to protect its planet, and operatives monitor and sometimes secretly guide its society away from nasty ideologies and cataclysmic tech once it's getting to 20th century Earth equivalent. Preparing the way for first contact to be as peaceful as possible. That would increase the Federations members. Most importantly, genetic engineering of Humans isn't outlawed after the Eugenics Wars, it's just that modifying Humans to make them _more aggressive and dominating_ is realised to be a very bad idea. Instead a Human species that even the Vulcans admire. It would make a good one off crossing episode, but the *Pragmatic* Humans couldn't be the same cast (with muscle suits) as the population would be completely different, not another you. A actual utopia. To make the Prime Universe Starfleet crew feel inferior.

That's fun to play as in a 4x, but the entire point of Trek is that our intrepid heroes in Starfleet AREN'T pragmatic. They have open arms and let the other guys shoot first. That's the point of the show, if gravity itself needs to become a repulsive force (ie if the laws of reality need be rewritten) for our heroes to still win and their ideals to win out, then so be it. Because one person's pragmatic and common sense is the future's war crime.

Random thought; *How did the Mirror Universe Andorians feel when they first heard about Humanity?* .... another species was invading and conquering their long-term rivals/foes the Vulcans? "They could be our Allies." Perhaps that's how the early Terran Empire survived, they had Imperial Andorian help in fighting the Vulcans. Only after the Vulcans were defeated did Terrans turn on the Andorians, and they realised far too late that Humans were the real threat. Because even with the tech from a reverse engineered Vulcan scout ship, and a lead up time if they kept that secret from the rest of the Vulcans ("we lost a scout ship on a long range mission, logically it must have been destroyed with all hands"), post WW3 Earth would have been no match for the Vulcans, who were a serious power at the time.

I gotta ask how you acquired the dates for Spock's post-Mirror Mirror history. We see on the ISS Enterprise in the new episode that the plaque is dated stardate 32336.6 which places the plaque and probably the transdimensional defection in 2345 (ten years before TNG season 2 stardates). Perhaps your dates for the fall of the Empire in the late 2200s (2285 etc) are based on long established Beta Canon, but this Alpha Canon seems to suggest a much later date for the fall of the Terran Empire.

Yes its beta content added in until we have something concrete to contradict it. However I also excluded a lot of stuff that happened from the non-canon sources however that I doubt happened now, so it's a little in complete. To be fair, I did not work out the stardate, but assumed it was added by the science team returning because it seems a little strange for the refugees to record their tale in a dedication plaque while they were still living it. I assumed Dr Cho added it here as part of the Progenitor team's "lessons".
And here I thought Emperor Spock was killed by the Klingon / Cardassian Alliance, as told in the book "The Sorrows of Empire"...
One thing to note about philippa georgiou is that she was only dying because she both traveled dimensions and time. If she was to say cryogenicaly freeze herself akin to kahn then tlshe would be in the right time as discovery but without time travel. Taking the slow route as it were...
Go watch "Star Trek Continues" for the answer to this. I believe it was episode 7? Maybe 6?
I want to know the story of the CSS World Razer NCC-2101-D (JLP's ship in the mirror universe)
It's impossible to answer to this because that event possibly never actually happened in the new timelines or if it had that Enterprise was taken apart by the Federation scientists to discover how it worked a curious question here, is this how the warp core was improved at this time and transporters had an upgrade too in just a small amount of time? On a twist to this in Mirror Mirror and other stories has anyone ever noticed how that version has a slightly different color scheme in the design of the uniforms theme slightly darker in the captain logo not golden more coper-like style? And how the layouts of the two brigades are on main Enterprise and the Mirror Enterprise look slightly different the captains chairs are set at different heights even so slightly different. And if you think in Enterprise the series that is the Enterprise it is actually another ship the twin of Enterprise?
Right off the bat, spaceships, space stastions and earth.
The Star Trek discovery people said “it is a mirror universe enterprise but don’t be too sure it’s mirror universe you’ve seen there’s more than one”

Star Trek Discovery Season 5 Episode 5: ISS Enterprise is RECOVERED by Discovery from interdimensional space in nearly operational condition. No crew present. Ship status: Not warp capable due to a missing intermix chamber. It was repaired to warp capable status and ferried to Federation headquarters and put into storage awaiting probable restoration and museum display.
Will this clearly does indicate as well as implies that Enterprise was never refitted in the Mirror Universe but it brings into question what is the Mirror Universe of Khan
How come The terran EMPIRE didn't build a weapon? Something with so much power it could destroy planets?
@DeaconBlues117

What's the fun in destroying a planet when you can conquer it and enslave the population instead? You'll notice that in "Mirror, Mirror", even though the crew question Kirk not wiping the planet out, they do seem to accept his further attempts to get them to surrender as within Imperial policy.
How could Philipa Georgia be on the enterprise when she came over on discovery and then jumped to the future with discovery?
So are qwail eggs easy to incubate?
They could have gone with ANY other Constitution-class...I get it's budget reasons, but there's more than 1 ship that looks like the Enterprise...

The point is: Do you remember the thing? You know!? That thing from when you loved this thing I own!? Remember when your wife’s **** were firmer or you weren’t divorced? I’ll show you a thing from that time that only I can show you for money but like monthly. How about when you didn’t have bills to pay or your dad was still alive? I own all kind of stuff from whatever time period that pulls at your heart strings and I’m gonna blast it into your face along with some special effects so I can get this sweet ad revenue money. Don’t worry about the plot just focus in on the thing I’m gonna show you that reminds you of a time before you found out the love of your life DID in fact do that thing she told you she didn’t normally do and in fact she had done it to Tyrone and then kissed you in the mouth at church. Next week we’re bringing back The Sisko. It’s really just some shots of a stunt double and some CGI over images we got of Avery Brookes at Whole Foods. We’re selling the company to Skydance so most board members will be long gone by the time the lawsuit hits.
See Star Trek Continues "Fairest of Them All"... That was\is meant as the sequel to " Mirror Mirror"
The mirror universe is weird. Lets say in the mainline universe, Captain Archer has a kid just after X event, but in the mirror universe he's assassinated at X event. 200 years go by, his decendant, lets call him Captain Bob, is the captain of the USS Enterprise Z or whatever. Head of his own show. Who is that guy's counterpart now? Does Captain Bob just not getting that episode? Edit: Someone kind of explained it. These are all different realities with different Terran Empires?
They need to figure out what they are doing with the constitution class, and the TOS era in general. They are constantly switching back and forth between shows when it comes to aesthetic. The Disco era Connie is larger than the og, but then we get the classic shuttle and tech in Prodigy. We have every episode of SNW, but then we see a classic Connie in the fleet museum. They can't make up their minds and, imo, they've realised the redesign was overdone and a bit excessive (this is NOT to say the design overall is absolutely terrible). The Disco starfleet in general was just badly designed, though we wont speak about the klingon ships and aesthetic, and trying to claim, "its all the same timeline," just seems disingenuous. I do like the 32nd century starfleet designs, though. Anyone else feel like they cant make up their minds?

It's a little confusing, but this is hardly the first time Star Trek hasn't been internally consistent. I'm willing to overlook the weirdness though, because honestly...both ships are very cool.
Just to understand this channel only references certain media as I saw no mention of one of the original continuations of the Mirror Universe that was published by DC Comics Star Trek series?

DC did mirror comics? I'm only familiar with the IDW ones which I believe are considered a splinter timeline. Although I'll reference those if I read them as I did with the Mirror Janeway video.

@@CertifiablyIngameDC Comics got rights to do Star Trek after the Wrath of Khan now their first 8 issues take place between II and III. Issue 9 deviates from what is now cannon issue 9 reintroduces the mirror universe except instead of Carol Marcus inventing Genesis Device mirror universe Carol Marcus discovers a way for mirror Kirk and Enterprise crew to enter regular universe. The arc ran from issue 9-15 and in issue 16 Kirk gets command of the Excelsior and Spock gets command of a science vessel. Until the events of Star Trek IV where the Enterprise is given to Captain Kirk and Captain Spock just serves as first officer. The comics served as fillers between the movies. Issue 19 was written by Walter Koenig. DC also wrote TNG comics.
V'Ger could only be stopped by our Enterprise. Mirror Enterprise crew would've died the same as the Klingons in TMP, then the rest of the Terran Empire and all other organic life thereafter. The Mirror Universe would become a Ghostverse.
Huh. What happened to that Enterprise sounds a lot like what occurred with the Megaroad from Macross.
wasnt it explained in the DS9 ep
I wish it was the refit enterprise from TMP that was salvaged
Hopefully there's not a copy of that character Tilly, one's enough. Thank you
I like Discovery a lot, but what was the point of making this confusing story line? Why has the Enterprise been un-refitted to the Pike era and has the pre TOS sets again? This seemed like filler to re use sets and fill up time because Mol and L'oks storyline isn't very logical and could easily be solved by buying them off.
We could see the ISS enterprise get a refit like discovery and become the new prime enterprise
I really hope they refit the ISS Enterprise like they did with Discovery.

In that instance the spore drive swapped them out in a similar way as Ion storm transporter accidents swap individuals. This was an actual rift in space, more like the original USS Defiant's crossing.
I suspect the realised they had ship designs in the computers that would keep them busy for nearly a hundred years, . They could maintain a technological edge , and still revolutionise thier economy, give them weapons with superior capability then anyone else , and build up the infrastructure to mass produce a ship like the constitution, Have there scientists study all of it and then build apon , a hundred year headstart and they were already more advanced that prime universe. New technologies gradually introduced. By the kirk period i suspect they had exploited defiant fully and had gain other alien technology. Like kirk and his tantalus machine
I have to say I was disappointed we got the iss enterprise and not the USS enterprise e. Dam budgets
I’m not familiar with these computer series stories?I guess,it’s a new Star 🌟 Trek story, here?I can only guess, here?
Wouldn't the first time actually have been when Archer's Enterprise went into the mirror universe?
How does all this fit into the TNG/DS9 Mirror Universe where the Terrans are apparently utterly concurred by the Klingons?
@amazedsatsuma

It is likely that the Mirror universe Klingons already formed their Alliance with Cardassia and were at war with the Terrans before Spock's death. Afterwards, Spock rose to Commander in Chief of the Empire by preaching reforms, disarmament, peace. It was quite a remarkable turnabout for his people. Unfortunately for them, when Spock had completed all these reforms, his empire was no longer in any position to defend itself against us. ~The Intendant aka mirror Kira, DS9 Crossover

The conflict between imperialists and reformists almost certainly weakened the Empire, making it all the easier for the Alliance to conquer.

That happened over a century after Action Saru led an uprising and stole 1701. The new tech the Terrans swiped from DS9 gave them the power to defeat the Klingon/Cardassian Alliance and restore the Empire.

@thod8820 Also the new mentality I'm seeing in fans these days is that canon doesn't matter. In season one, mirror Seru was eaten. But season 5, he lead a rebellion. The continuity doesn't matter to the writers because to the current fans the canon doesn't matter. That's just the new normal now.
