Mesopotamia has a long and complex past, and many empires called Mesopotamia home. Because of its lengthy history, the question of what caused Mesopotamia to fall is a complicated one! The land of Mesopotamia was still in existence up until the end of the First World War. On August 23rd, 1921, Mesopotamia was re-named when the British backed Faisal I became the first King of Iraq.

Please note the following: Around 1:10 - Eridu is one of many cities that is considered to be the first. There is evidence that other cities existed by this time, though, such as Çatalhöyük and Jericho.

Let's see if I got this right " Mesopotamia lay in the fertile crescent that stretched from Egpyt... " Are you suggesting that Egypt in Africa was a part of Mesopotamia?

North Africa received Semitic migrations, according to some studies it may have been diffused in recent time by Arabs who, mainly from the 7th century AD, expanded to northern Africa (Arredi 2004 and Semino 2004). However the Canary islands is not known to have had any Semitic language. In North Africa J-M267 is dominated by J-P58, and dispersed in a very uneven manner according to studies so far, often but not always being lower among Berber and/or non-urban populations.

Because they DONT EXIST! These fake wannabe "New Assyrians" were Arameans, who got renamed by British colonial powers in WWI as "Assyrians". They have nothing to do with ancient or real Assyrians.

@@patrikstar8466 why would Arameans live in and around places like Nineveh (Mosul) Calah (Modern Day Numaniyah) and the Nineveh Plains? Also the oldest Church within the Assyrian community has been called the Assyrian Church of the East since time immemorial, Western and Catholic powers renamed Assyrians as Chaldean Catholics when catholic missions came in the 16th century. The Assyrian Empire switched its official language from Akkadian to Aramaic halfway through its history and both Akkadians and Arameans were Semitic nomads who migrated south to Mesopotamia thousands and thousands of years ago so potato potatoe my friend
