There is CCTV footage that clearly shows she was arguing and misbehaving and left the premises on her own with no signs of limping or being assaulted. She is clearly making things up because her own statements don't add up. Women like swati are the ones who play the victim card and file false charges against men misusing the law for their own personal vendetta. If she was assaulted as badly as she described in her complain then what about the CCTV footage that shows her exiting the CM's house appearing completely fine and not limping but later she said she was badly hurt and was limping. All those get exposed if everything is shown. Kinda, person who comes to donate maybe troubled. Or asked to donate to the other party. etc. That is the reason most of the cells and CCTV recordings are formatted periodically. I bet even BJP does that.

Tell me, do you buy assets like house? At least aspire for it? Likewise, country should have its assets. Disagree. The job defines the authority. Outside the Parliament in somebody else's premises she has to behave as told by the people in authority there. Sanjay Singh in his statement had said "abhadrata" hui which means indecency in hindi. This was before Swati's FIR came out in public domain and based on hearing one side of the story i.e Swati's. Big mistake on Sanjay Singh's part. But doesnt mean that he actually admitted to all the details in the FIR. If some1 was beaten up like she said she was, they wouldn't be able to walk out of the house the way she did, all the way to the police station.Matter should be investigated fairly not with a bias that because a woman is complaining it has to be the entire truth.

The way she is seen talking to the security shows her high handedness. If there has been manhandling it doesn't seem unprovoked. But pushing and shoving which could have well happened from both sides, doesn't amount to the kind of assault she has reported in the FIR. Proof is the way she was seen walking out of the CM residence perfectly fine. If she was beaten up that badly, why didn't she go for medical examination the same day? why not file FIR the same day?

It seems a bit fortuitous, doesn't it. First off, you don't usually get to meet the party boss without an appointment. But i digress. She goes over and for some reason this dude comes out, and, what's a good euphemism, decides to for absolutely no reason unleash his inner Selmon Bhai upon her. Selmon Bhai usually only does this to his girlfriends, and clearly they're not dating. Now, I've been on the receiving end of a few thrashings myself and been witness to a few others. (Needless to say I don't condone any violence against anyone.) One of the first things when you get slapped like a bag of rice at the grocery store, is that you're quite disoriented. Then, as your wits begin to return you get out of the place. Anyone who is going to assault you might also decide 'in for a penny, in for a pound', and decide to do worse. You get the hell out of there. You probably might even go straight to the police station. She apparently sat around waiting for cops and didn't seem very bruised or anything when it ended. And when she did decide to talk, it was to ANI, a news agency as believable as Selmon Bhai's alleged virginity. The party is off guard because nobody saw this coming. If and when she's proven to be a liar she will set back whatever miniscule amount of progress in women's rights that has been made since the days of her braving the water cannons after the Nirbhaya case. They got to her when she was out of town. Retire, cash out, bugger off to a foreign country, and if fate wishes she could always come back. If not the outrage eco system and party payoffs could always support her.

Good summary of the various news on this topic. Regarding your conclusion, that AAP does not have a strategy for this. It seems that you expect that a party will have a strategy for every kind of issue that can potentially come up. Something like a rule book or book of guidelines which everyone in the party will have to memorize. I think that AAP and Kejriwal has handled it quite well. The two clips of Swati Maliwal and also of her not registering a fir on the same day is raising a lot of questions on her. Also the language that she used in the video was very unbecoming of her as a public figure. It is true that the real nature of a person comes out when the cameras are turned off.

It's quite confusing as you said. But the chances are that the vote share for kejriwal might not entirely get affected by this incident (as it is still chaotic and questionable in lot of ways). However it is the likability towards BJP weighing in more that would hamper AAP vote share in this lok sabha. But in the future if things are not taken stand for or a silence treatment is given by AAP it might affect their image and support amongst people of Delhi as well as Punjab.

Though what exactly transpired at the CM’s residence (& in whose presence) may not be known anytime soon, a few things were deliberate on both sides: 1) Swati not wanting to give up her RS seat that easily, choosing to make a complaint to the Delhi Police knowing how it could be manipulated by the BJP, going to the CM’s residence without his consent (apparently), giving an interview to ANI/ Smita Prakash of all people doesn’t smell good at all but AAP jumped the gun and Atishi’s Press Conference blaming Swati & a BJP conspiracy gave Swati the freedom to go all out against AAP & thereby the interview & delayed FIR…BUT she had already made a call to the cops / helpline while still at the CM’s residence absolutely points at her ill intentions. 2) CCTV footage from the CM’s residence being wiped out was probably done to avoid Kejriwal being made a party to another “conspiracy” / case to embroil him in & he may have tried to pacify her after whatever happened but having seen it hadn’t worked, he needed to maintain silence so as not to lose his time out on bail (if he sensed all this as a conspiracy). Similarly Bibhav Kumar formatting his mobile may have other reasons behind it, it would have a lot of stuff to deal with Kejriwal’s connections to many people who probably connected to him through Bibhav and besides it also must’ve had some communications between Swati & Bibhav that he probably may not have wanted to be made public (it may or may not have anything to do with the personal lives of the two of them). The CCTV footage may have also been partly erased to avoid Kejriwal’s elderly parents or others in the family getting caught up in the web of “evidences” that Delhi Police was likely to weave or it would’ve anyway happened due to routine investigation, also the visit of many other individuals unrelated to this issue or which needn’t be made public (as per AAP) could have further caused problems for them or the footage could be leaked selectively (doctored or otherwise) once it’s in the control of the DP. 3) Initial statements by Sanjsy Singh, later on by Atishi we’re all made in a rush and probably wasn’t thought out so well & they were merely either wanting to look “fair” or were (later) convinced by the DP’s swift actions & the LG’s letter that the BJP was either behind it or was fishing in troubled waters. 4) Swati knows only too well what she can get away with (accusations by a woman & a cheerleader of women’s rights), mentioning about her menses or being kicked in the pelvic region may have been for added impact & gaining sympathies (highly deplorable if it actually happened or she was indeed assaulted, no matter what the provocation might have been) 5) What led to this whole fiasco has to do with Swati’s RS membership (which she clearly didn’t want to let go of), Kejriwal’s rush to get AM Singhvi to swap Swati’s RS membership since he was unsure of when he’d be able to get another bail could have escalated the problem which was probably encashed by Swati & the BJP (together or not, that remains to be seen)

I will not speculate about Swati Maliwal case. It needs to be investigated, cross checked and validated. Something has happened to Swati, that needs to be investigated. We might point out to conspiracy, but this is serious. Koi bhi dudh ka dhula nahi hai.
