Many crazy coincidences in life. Stan the man had exactly 3,630 hits. 1,815 on the road and you guess how many at home. Murphy, Bonds and Maris are the only player's to win back to back MVP,s and all are eligible for the HOF and none are in? Joe Niekro had 1,165 plate appearances and only 1 home run. Who do you think he hit it off? His brother. The most homeruns hit by a player with the last name starting with an H? Both had 382 and the same last name, Ryan and Frank.

I think that's by far the most heartbreaking retirement speech I've ever seen. You can tell that his entire life baseball was always an important part and now for the first time he has to confront a world without it. He didn't just look sad in that speech, he looked afraid. I hope he's found peace in his life and wish him the best. I was a fan of his dad as a kid and an even bigger fan of him. If he could've had a few more healthy seasons and/or a WS ring or two i think he'd be looked at as a guy who would've been getting in the HoF in a few years (even with a couple more seasons/rings I don't think he would've been first ballot material but likely one of those guys who gets in after several years on the list).

The Prince was one of my absolute favorite players when I was a middle schooler just getting into baseball. He never played for a team in my state, or any team I particularly liked or watched. But he was the definition of a fun player to watch. When I think of my first introduction to baseball as a kid, I think of Prince Fielder and a handful of his contemporaries. Prince, if you're reading this... you're way cooler than your dad.

The Cecil Fielder face morph was terrifying. I cried a little bit during Prince's retirement announcement and when hearing about what he said about his dad. I got angry when you showed Prince homering off the Cubs at Wrigley. I've watched most, maybe all of your videos. This is your magnum opus. I'm glad I could save it for the end.

Prince will always be my favorite player. I remember when I was a kid I would play mlb 2k on my Xbox. 2k12 playing as the brewers with prince and Braun or later 2k games with miggy on the tigers I just loved everything about the guy. It’s so sad to see his career taken from him. I wish him all the best in life and I’m hoping to see some “Fielders” in the mlb soon

I remember watching Prince for the Tigers from 2012-2014. He was a monster, I loved him to pieces, he mashed us to a world series. His Texas Days made me sad and when he retired, I was crushed. The only other day that hurt me as much as that day was Fernandez' crash, that day crushed me as well.

I knew Prince in the minors. He was not only a tremendous hitter, he was a born leader and a very tough guy. Prince arrived at AAA at the age of 20 and was almost immediately the clubhouse leader. He worked every day, didn't screw around and worked on all aspects of his game. He WORKED at being able to hit to all fields. Prince was also incredibly tough. We played the Cardinals AAA team (Memphis) and they threw at Prince. Prince started jawing at their dugout and walking toward their entire team and not a single Memphis player would leave the dugout. One thing to remember, every player Prince collided with, whether it was an opposing player at home plate or his own teammate, that person was out of the game and missed at least one more game. Had the injury not cut his career short, he would have been a Hall of Famer.

This video made me cry, I remember being a sophomore in high school on my varsity team when he retired, I distinctly remember crying when I saw the video of him announcing his retirement. It was guys like him and Pablo Sandoval that I had looked up to because I had never been the tallest or fastest, and I always had a bit of heft to me, but I always wanted to got out and give it my all whether as a fielder or a hitter. I always looked up to Prince. To this day I still want to get a Prince field Rangers jersey even though I am a Giants fan.

I as a fan of Prince. He and I are about the same age, about the same body build, and played the same position (but I was a local fun league team talent while he was major league talent). I enjoyed watching him and to me he was like the patron saint of big guys playing baseball very well. Although it was a sad how his career ended, I cherish the great years he had and thankful I was able to watch them.

Prince fielder was one of my childhood hero’s as a young brewers fan. I remember on my 9th birthday he hit a walkoff bomb back in ‘08 when the brewers willed themselves in the final week into the playoffs to end a decades long playoff drought. That moment was so special to me I remember going to bed so happy

I'm a Tigers fan, and I saw Cecil Fielder hit his 50th and 51st home runs in 1990. That was a great day. Nobody had hit 50 home runs since the 1970's. I was rooting for Prince in 2012 and 2013, and he did a great job. It was indeed kind of sad that Prince did not perform well in the 2012 World Series. As it was, a lot of other things went wrong for the Tigers in that World Series. The funniest part about it is when Prince stole a nacho from a Tigers fan.

Hadn't seen the interview since it happened. At the time when I realized I loved baseball more than just a game, it was early 2006, and that season my Cards won the Series and that season was the year of Albert Pujols and Ryan Howard. I know Albert is still semi able to play, but to realize that that trio of bombers all had their talent stripped by abnormal injury is kind of a blow to the gut. Those three were my guys. 2007-2011 was a blast whenever Phillie or Miluakee came to town.

I couldn't believe it when he signed with the Tigers.. I had zero expectation that they'd land him. Even though it didn't end with a world series, he still came in crushed it. It's unfortunate he went through personal drama during the playoffs and wasn't able to play on his usual level, but it was still a treat to watch him bat behind Miggy, and I'll look back on those seasons fondly. Wish him the best.

No, this is why books like this never remain popular and neither do games or movies. The majority of people do not want to have to do extra shit just to watch or play something. Sure there is those few that do but not enough people to make it something that is going to be your cash cow. It's more annoying then anything else

That is a grown man crying because he is being forcibly ripped from the one thing he loves and can always count on. It is the only thing he knows and has been there from day one.
