It’s not just to initiate the turn in air but also not to grasp the bar in a mixed grip. If you go on slow motion you’ll see Kaylia grasping in mixed grip, hence the downgrade to a no turn move.

Have you seen her video where she fell in warmup just before this? She fell on her back before she was able to catch the bar! So mixed grip or not she definitely initiates the turn before catching the bar, we're talking about nano seconds here...
