Torres and Sanchez both came up during the juiced ball time. Plain and simple.

Sanchez could hit the ball as far as anybody. His problem was making contact with the ball

Exactly. And DJ earned his current deal based on juiced ball stats too. The only player who benefitted from juiced balls and then continued to mash at the same or better rate is the captain, who is gradually making his case as the greatest ballplayer of his generation. Otherwise it was an offensive sham.

Think that is part of it. Problem is Sanchez and Torres both swing for the fences every AB. DJ is just a product of age. Plus he injured his toe and was never the same after it.

The rumour was by one of the people who leaked the astros cheating was that Gleyber had something on his ankle and he knew which pitches were coming. And I believe it

I think Gleyber has a little pressure to perform In his contract year.Unless he’s not putting in the required work in the off-season or he has some serious issues off the field,he will bounce back once he settles in with a nice contract that he deserves…

He has the talent to perform. Problem is he swings for the fences every AB. Just watch him and you see. Moves way too much in the batters box.

He’s been this player for a long time now. Long lazy swing, slow in the field and on the bases, overmatched by good pitching. He’s just not very good.

I think the Yankees need to stop with the whole grinding out at bats thing. In today's game I think it's just better to let guys swing. When Judge and Tores swing freely they are much better hitters. I do like the idea of being a patient hitter but the way people pitch today giving away first pitch strikes everytime is kind of letting pitchers off the hook. I'm not saying swing at every first pitch but maybe once a game wouldn't hurt. Just keep these pitchers honest.

If you know what a good baseball swing looks like, it’s no mystery AT ALL what “happened” to Gleyber Torres. It’s the fundamentals of his long, off balanced swing.

I disagree with Kay on torres. What is happening with gleybet doesn't "happen all the time". In fact it's very rare for a talented player like gleyber to basically fall off the face of the planet. It's also a gigantic "swing and miss" for the Yankees. Torres was, at one point, I believe the #5 prospect in all of baseball. He's currently hitting. .220. That's a huge problem. But the point is that Torres isn't just some random schmuck that the Yankees picked up off the side of the street. He was an international free agent and a very highly touted prospect. That's a significant Loss for the Yankees

Can that be the same Steve sommers? I am originally from NY and now an avid Yankee fan but spent years in LA calling re: Angels. Sommers asked me out(not my type at all, unfortunately). I have a question, Michael re: the Yanks I also have a feeling, that they won’t add in infield. Why? If not Mcmahon, then what about Rengifo? His fielding is just ok but with playing time, he hits. He could take over next year at second. And yes I know bullpen is first. Or, maybe a starter(Schmitt could move there, Gil or Nestor) just saying, should they not be able to acquire good bullpen help, away from garbage dump.
