I’d really like to see Dean pull through after the lawsuits and deliver a great lineup. Really bummed they have to stop making the V and Z.

Dean died in 04 in my eyes. RIP Dime.

I would say that if they are doing a major comeback, they need to have plenty of models with modern specs that are day 1 ready to ship, new artist or high/low end spec guitars, and push the designs in a new direction to break away from the old mentality

Damn I wish Gibson would make a dragon burst Explorer. Damn I wish Epiphone would make an SG in this fucked up color I like that nobody knows even exists." Like, of course it's valid, but what the fuck do you really expect them to do? I'd like a red lightning Dean ML more than anybody but it's not gonna happen because nobody would buy it since everyone's so up their own ass about what they think Dime would have wanted. Leo Jaymz is your best friend, so just make your own fuckin guitar, it's not that hard and it'll be ten times cheaper.

I like Dean from a style perspective. They have the best headstock for a V style guitar in the Vengeance. The classic headstock is one of the coolest 3+3s out there.

I have been a dean fan since the 90s, I’ve owned plenty of their Vs, ML‘s, Evo‘s, and I am currently in love with there 2010 run of Icons. They feel great, i hope they continue to improve their lineups

I bought a Thoroughbred Select Classic after seeing it on your channel a couple of years ago, I did change the pickups in it although it didnt really need it, but that guitar has become probably one of my Top 2 or 3 guitars I own... It is an absolute beast of a guitar that I just vibe with very well...

I also bought a Thoroughbred Select a few years ago and I love it. I can play a lot of different styles of music with that guitar. It was my first mid-level price point guitar and I'll never sell it.

I really appreciate the info men, I’ve been wondering what was going on with Dean guitars.

The ML, Razorback and Z were my favorites. Also, if they ever comeback, modern specs and artist models need to be the thing to start doing.

I just got my Dimebag dfh from back order from last August. I definitely like the ml shape now. I had mustaine angel of death v solid guitar stayed in tune great. I wish they didn’t give up on select series a lot of those were really cool. Just wish they had slightly more modern choices in pickups for those and they would be killer.

I still love my Dean VMNT with no plans to sell it. Keep up the good product and the guitarists will come.

I a. A huge fan of Dean and I feel they haven't been the se since Elliots passing. He was a unique combination of businessman and musician.

My first ever guitar in 1999 was a red Dean Strat copy that I still have. It got wet for Hurricane Rita and the nut broke on it but it still works lol.

I really would love some more Cadillac shapes, especially if they add modern specs like evertune or kahler. And also an NV shape would be sick, similar to to guy of the band destruction or Karl sanders guitar.

I was excited to see the Dean Vengeance! Haven't seen them out in the wild. I want to play one before I were to buy it. Love them with a floyd and stainless steel and in different color schemes.

I'm pretty sure most people want Dean to succeed. I also like the new models like the Zero and the Vengeance very much. The ML is also and has always been a big fat Boss of a guitar.

Wayne has been playing his white Thoroughbred during this last Hatebreed tour cycle. Maybe we’ll see it hit the market sooner than some of the others since it’s not too crazy. I’d really like to see the Cadi Kill come back since Rob Barrett is still using them on tour and it was only out for a brief amount of time. Oh and now I have Earth, Wind, and Fire stuck in my head so thanks for that.

I know they're not to everyone's taste, but I have to give some love to the Cadillac shape. I really love what LTD has done with keeping some traditional looking finishes on their EC models but with modern specs. If they could do something similar to the Cadillac I'd be very interested, especially if they go with the more RG-looking headstock.

Not long ago I saw a video with rob Flynn playing a Dean v, with love and death inlays. Now that’s one I’m waiting for .

I have 4 lefty dean guitars and they are probably the best out of guitar collection. Specially the Dave Mustaine Signature from Dean.

I've had 2 Mustaine V's over the last couple years. A Korina, that was absolutely gorgeous! And a black V. Both are/were great guitars. Not a single complaint.

I ordered a Dimebag stealth and it keeps getting pushed back. If they actually ship in November it will be over a year. I’m not holding my breath. I hope they get back to being the great company they were.

I got my first dean last year, it’s a dean ml select with the trans Brazilia top and it’s the best guitar I’ve ever owned and possibly the best guitar I’ve ever played, I love it I’ve been keeping my eyes open for new dean mls but they’re hard to come by, I’m hoping at least by 2024 they’ll have new ml guitars, I’d love to see a white with black binding and a black with white binding ml

Dean had a limited run for an ML with an Evertune and Fishman moderns. Thing looked so sick, sandblasted black with white binding and had block inlays. Only thing I would've wanted different on it was direct mounted pickups, it had rings on them.

I loved Dean guitars as a teen, presently regretting not picking up the razorback explosion left handed.

I bought a thoroughbred select earlier this summer. It’s been one of my favorite guitars I’ve ever owned.

I traded for an ML about 5 years ago just cause of the look of it, I had to sell it when I moved back from college but I bought another one and a Z, they are the most comfortable shape for me to play. I always get teased for the big ass cases I have to carry them in. Hope Dean gets it straightened out, I’d love to see them succeed.

Dean has the sickest logo of all guitars change my mind (guitar brands logo tier list video maybe??!👉👈)

The Dean "Rob Barrett" Kill Cadillac, and the early Razorbacks/Trivium Dean's are my favorites.

I bought that 8 string monster ML with the ms khaler. It's no longer listed in the ML section. Glad I snagged it when I could.

I own 33 fiddles (5 of em r deans) My favourite is still to this day the ML, because of the classy look and the ergonomic playability sitting down and standing up. I know a bunch o people at Armadillo too. But this was when Elliott Rubinson was around. (I even met him) He was a great bass player with great thumbin tone 🤘🏻 I miss him!

Big Dean fan here as well, I have 10 of them on my guitar rack. Im a big Caddy fan, and would love to see more Cadillac models. I'd absolutely would love to see Dean Zelinsky himself return to Dean, and run the ship. That would be a huge boost to the Dean name, and I could totally see Dean bounce back!

I'd have to second your suggestion...and they should come in hot. Start with the absolute flagship modeling that series reboot: SS frets, Evertune, Fluence Moderns, on board boost in place of the tone knob, Sustainiac, and 27" scale length.

I bought an ML last year December and it came all jacked up. Couldn’t return it so I had to go through Dean to get an exhange and my new one comes in December. 1k sitting in limbo 😢

I believe they teased a signature for Jon Donais of Anthrax/Shadows Fall also.

I have 5 Dean MLs, one Korean ML79F, a Chinese DFH, a Chinese slime, an Indian Far Beyond Driven and an Indian slime. They are all great playing guitars, but the India builds are my favorite, specifically the Indian slime. It has the thickest and sharpest V neck of them all and a big volute. It also weighs the most at about 9 pounds. I hope Dean keeps making non Dime specific related MLs, and hopefully Dean Zelinsky and Rita can bring out a line of Dimebag guitars.

ive been using dean guitars since 2001 and my 3 main guitars are Dean models but i play superstrat style deans Avalanche 7 string a Mdx and a performer acoustic i want them to succeed i need a Dean 8 string😁

I personally really liked some of deans stuff, I own 2 of the Dean vmnts and have played a couple of their other models like the Cadillac, they’re great guitars, and it kinda sucks seeing them be buried cause of what some people are calling “bad management”. I don’t really know but I hope they figure their shit out

I loved Dean guitars. I have a 2006 VMNT Angel of Death that was my #1 guitar until I got it played and signed by Dave Mustaine. Dimebag was a huge influence on me playing guitar in 1995, wish I could of had him play and sign my ML. Hope they come out of this hiccup strong.

i got a z on zzounds last year it is sweet but i think your advice about the ml is good...its a great guitar for certain my buddy bought one and its great and also why i bought the z lol so i didn't copy his exactly like i wanted too...but the z is nice as hell too so win win

I wish they would release the Zero, but hey, if it doesn't come to be,it is what it is. I had a Thoroughbred Select Quilt top a couple of years ago, and it was a great guitar. I stupidly sold it because of the Dimebag controversy. I miss that guitar because it was way better than I gave it credit.

I love Dean Guitars, I have a 79 Dean V, I'm the original owner and I have a 2012 Dean Caddy Limited Run # 16, also the original owner. I wouldn't give them up for anything. 👍

I've bought one of last metalman V bass, before prices got crazy. Plays great. Got a 7 string rusty Cooley, plays great too, but, i'd have enjoyed a more agressive shaped bass guitar. 7 string razorback have been pretty rare in Europe, would have loved having a white with black bevel one. Hope Dean guitar will be back as a metal brand and find how to trick Gibson to offer an affordable 7string les Paul type guitar, but, that's my own point of view.

After Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, Earth Wind and Fire is my third favorite band ever man, saludos desde Mexico!

Since they're no longer allowed to make their classic V's and Z's, I'm no longer interested in getting a Dean. Unless they make Karl Sander's custom V's into a production model.

Same here as an explorer fan it's sad to see the production on the Dean Z get halted even though I see tons of used dean ZX guitars on ebay.

Hey Ray! Did you see that new 2023 Jackson Line-up ???!! It's unbelievebale! It's what we always wanted Jackson to make !! "Pro Plus Series": lots of finishes, there are Dinky's, and Soloist's: 3 pieces neck-through, Stainless Steel Frets, Truss Rod Wheel adjustment, Luminlays, Seymour Duncan, Multy-Ply Binding, .... These are gorgeous guitars !! (but the price is not so cool ....) My fav is the Soloist Amber Blue Burst !! We want a video !!!

I had to clear my throat but I had you at 0:09. I drive by the Dean building pretty much every day and if you're ever in the area check out Jazzy's Barbecue right down the street from the Dean factory. I am in no way associated with them but that's how I made a day of it and had a great time.

The new President, Patrick Schuleit, looks like he's taking a deep breath and maybe taking stock. As a longtime Armadillo employee, I love that he has the reigns as opposed to an outsider. I'm hoping, along with you, for a resurgence.

Those vengeance V look sick… I still like Dean and just got a dave mustain United Abomination for 400$ I jumped on it and will get upgraded with a new bridge Grover locking tuners and specially some trash factor pickups or some Dave pickups that can get me that sound

I'll say the same thing I always do when someone brings up the Dean brand: Hisatake, if you're out there listening somewhere, please acquire Dean and do for it what you did for Schecter.

I haven’t seen many of any new Dean’s since Gibson halted them. IMO the only shape they could salvage was the ML. It’s been several years since I saw and hoped to get a Zero Mustaine styled guitar which never seemingly came out. The only other thing could be that Dean is having to re-work different shapes/colors/specs to avoid getting shut down by Gibson again. Used market has some out there but it’s slim pickings…

I was cheering on for Dean as well during the whole Lawsuit fiasco. But they really have been napping since. I don't even see any shops selling them in our area anymore. Shame 'cause I think they could offer so much. A re-branding would be really good. Modernize the ML, hell ya!

Just curious, when Dean sued a small independent builder and their customer, for the same exact thing that Gibson sued them over while the lawsuit with Gibson was still going on, did you cheer for them in that situation? I understand Gibson suing Dean, I even understand Dean suing an independent builder, I don't understand bringing anyone's customers into lawsuits. It's hard for me to have any respect for Dean after that.

I've still got that single channel color TV and I'll never regret Dire Straits, straightforward players. May be some guy was just tired to argue about his second name, with the CEO of some bigger company in the hardware manufacturing. I don't know. Namastè.

I miss my Dime o flage ml loved the sound an had a vendetta but I now have a XV with 11k bill lawrance xL in neck an 15k hex humbucker like Dime an I’ve been into v since Kirk Hammett, Kerry king just felt more comfortable with playing like to see more v styles in the cheaper side

I agree with Xander, Dean will be back! I also agree that they should revisit their classic models. The ML the Caddys as well as some later models such as the Icon and Vendetta. Dean still has a lot to offer if they just had better mgmt. I also think they should re-brand themselves as an all around rock guitar company, not just metal. Broaden the market! Thats my 5 cents worth.

I really loved my Z Select, and loved the brand growing up in the late 2000s when they had artists like Matt Heafy playing the Razorback (Still a guilty pleasure guitar for me, would love to have one) but I just don't think they handled their artist roster well. Basically everyone is gone and their models with Kerry King and Doyle may be unique but I don't think they're driving people to the brand. I think they should really look at Schecter and the rebranding they've done to get away from being known as the Kyle Chaddington signature model Drywall Crusher (with mandatory extra abalone) and have since signed lots of cool guys like Rob Scallon and Aaron Marshall while still being able to make guitars like the GWAR E-1. Dean has an awesome heritage and they made some great guitars once upon a time. I think they should be really diving back into those. Heck, I'd love to see the sharper V and Zero models with classic Dean trim like the Cherry Sunburst flametops and red side markers, but with modern appointments like stainless steel frets, locking tuners, and white Fishman Fluence Open Cores.

As someone who fell in love with the Dean ML Selects..I think they should focus on the select series as well as a modern series. Like you said, locking tuners, stainless steel frets and whatnot. Perhaps split the Dean line into "modern" and "classic". That way you can get classic specs or modern specs of whatever Dean shape is your favorite. They also need some exciting finishes. Schecter and ESP are KILLING it in the paint department and even Gibson is doing wild and crazy stuff with their demo shop. Dean needs to shed the reputation of low grade "ugly" guitars and really start putting out guitars that are still clearly Dean but can compete neck and neck with other brands. With ALL that being said...I just want string thru Dean ML Selects in new fun colors. I'm a simple man. I have 5 of them already and I haven't gotten another only because I'm waiting to see what else in the line they release for the new year.

It would be funny if Dean hired James “JC” Curleigh since he left Gibson.

I am in the market for a new guitar (1000-1500) and if Dean did a range of Cadillacs with the full 'winged' headstock, floyd rose( fr1000 or above) and a selection of colors then I WOULD BE IN!! I had an ML years ago and regret selling that thing.... also.... if they got the sustainiac system in there... damn that would SLAY!!! I cannot get ANY new Deans in europe!

It’s weird that you haven’t seen many Deans for sale. Granted, this is 4 months after this video but Guitar Center, Zzounds, hell even Target has Dean Vengeance models listed on their respective websites. And, that’s no joke…. Deans are available at Target! I love most of their specs but I’m not big on active pickups. I’d love to see some of these Vengeance models, for instance, to come with some passives like Black Winters. Just my $.02 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think he was basically saying that he would if they followed through making the guitars that said they were going to make.

The hard part, is I don't believe we will see another Dean ML from Dean guitars, due to the issues with the Dimebag estate over the shape, and that the Dimebag contract has ended. We have yet to see a resolution. I'd like to see Dean succeed as well, as they have carved there way into history making classic shapes, for the players, with modern appointments, but it's hard to tell if they'll bounce back from loosing many of their core models.

The ML has been since 1977. Dean can still make the ML, they just won't be able to use the Dimebag finishes or anything else in his likeness I'd say.

I would personally flip out and be all over a new batch of dean razorbacks/MLs. That would put them back on the map. I’m all for dean making a comeback But I know it’s just a dream for now. All we can do is hope.

I believe there was a lawsuit from the Dimebag estate on the Razorback, so I'd say that it's a no go on that.

Dean is my favorite guitar brand. I own several. Having said that, anyone who’d put an EverTune on an ML should be sent to a work camp.

I liked the shredzilla a lot, even saw some people who had one. But I'm personally getting more into ultra modern guitars which leave tradition in favour of ergonomics and better design. You know like abasi, strandberg etc. Safe to say I'm not gonna be buying from Dean

Kinda sucks that the Vengeance and Zero are no-shows, I thought both shapes looked so badass, feels like Dean its in the same ballpark as the B.C. Rich relaunch with nothing happening in the end.

For what it's worth, as an outsider looking in, I was never familiar with more expensive Dean guitars. I've always seen them as a "cheap" and "cheesy" brand whether that is fair or not. But seeing as even the elitist guitar players prefer the Washburn version of Dimebag guitars, I think they have a bad image with a huge part of the consumer base. At least they do with me, and I've never owned one so I have no personal bias.

There's a whole lot of guitarists that think Dean only makes affordable import guitars. They don't even realize that Dean doesn't make the guitars, and the ones that they do make are incredibly expensive. And most of the imports that they've had made are the over the top guitars, and really cheap knock offs. It's hard enough to make a lightning bolt or camo finished guitar feel and look like a high quality guitar even when it is. Put those kind of finishes on a cheap import and it looks and feels like a novelty guitar.

I have a Z and I love it. What pisses me off is the fact that Dean has made the Z and V since like 1977 and Gibson sues and wrecks their shit 4+ decades later, but yet they put out a Kramer that's nothing more than a Stratocaster copy and a Kramer V that is nothing more than a Jackson King V.

I grew up playing deans then I knew to grow up I had to play esp, some of those deans were so horrible I had a dean Korean razorback v with the tuner installed so it was hitong the headstock and floyd routed at an angle the nut was cut wrong and a I had a few dime mls with mest up necks horribly routed electric component cavity and even some.of the vendetta were trash the mlx also felt like a toy played decent but dam
