Cesar Vialpando would have been a great gta protagonist if they made gta sa stories. It would keep up the tradition of seeing San Andreas through a new pair of eyes like in previous story gtas. It could help us learn more about los aztecas gang.

Maybe thats why Salvatore didnt trust Claude and tried to kill him. He has seen the same pattern. A stranger who is working for his son tried to get in the family by his sons advice. Claude did take a lot of risk by helping them escape in a limo but that still didnt make Salvatore trust him because CJ did the same and still betrayed him

GTA 3 plot was written before San Andreas. San Andreas and GTA 3 got connected only after San Andreas came out. Developers didn't even know about CJ when GTA 3 was made. So that means San Andreas was influenced by GTA 3 and not vice versa. They used San Andreas as a prequel to GTA 3 based on what we seen in GTA 3

I think CJ had little money and couldn't find a solid job to pay his bills. Therefor, he had to resort to mugging to get money. Incidentally he did jobs for Joey, who wanted to help Carl. And, as you said, he didn't look like a gangster, so it was easy money for CJ. This way he could pay his bills and assure he could stay in the LC. CJ and Joey eventually became friendly and talked about life and family, which is how CJ knows about Salvatore. Also, I think Joey cared about CJ. He gave him friendship so that CJ wouldn't be alone in the big city. As far as CJ knew Joey was just a friend who got him money in times of need.

Beautifully said! We really feel that CJ was struggling there in Liberty City at times - mugging people looked so desperate. And even though Joey wasn't paying CJ that much money that would make Carl happy, at least he was giving him a friendship.

But it also could be that Joey Leone just hadn't started fully launching his business into the front, and was struggling with finances that he couldn't just pay his henchmen (CJ and the likes) that much money

I think that after Brian's death CJ must have been super upset and wanted to get out of the street gangs business and he moved to Liberty City. In Liberty City he did not want to go too deep into the mafia as he was afraid people close to him would get hurt(eg. Joey) He just helps Joey around and decides not to associate with other members of the mafia. The mafia were probably the most organized crime family at the time, so being associated with Joey, who led a small front would have kept him out of trouble. This might be a stretch, but the fact that CJ drives through Chinatown could also indicate that he never had anything to do with gang warfare as the Triads did not attack him, like how they were hostile to Claude after certain missions. However once CJ returns to LS, he realizes things are really screwed up and also feels bad for letting his family down. He begins associating in gang activity slowly, and the rest is history.

I think CJ wasn't upset, but his life in Liberty City was serving some kind of coping mechanism with Brian's death. He tried to forget about all this gang activity in LS, by fleeing to the other parts of country and associating himself with other group of people.

Well yeah, CJ has probably been really upset about letting Brian die and the fact that he was kicked out of the gang - basically everyone turned their back on him. However, we think that moving to Liberty City wasn't just about starting life anew, but it was a necessity in a way - CJ didn't have anyone in LS anymore, and living there all by himself would be too dangerous. Speaking of him not being too deep within the mafia, we are not entirely sure it was because he was afraid something bad could happen to people he was working with such as Joey Leone. Actually, we would rather say it was like that, among others, because CJ wasn't a great type of guy to be easily manipulated. CJ couldn't decide not to make more money as we witnessed in The Introduction. He was stealing cars and mugging people in the alleys - it's not something a criminal with at least average wealth would do, he was poor. When it comes to the Triads and their attitude toward CJ, it's really hard to determine whether they were pissed off at him as we have shown that theoretically, CJ shouldn't be driving there, after the camera changed.

I agree with all but one thing. After CJ let Brian die he was ran out of town. At least that's what Tenpenny said at one point. I am curious as to what killed Brian.

Regarding the payments he received, in a mission ending 'cutscene' with Sweet, CJ mentions that C.R.A.S.H took all his cash and he did lose the suitcase he came with in the cab, so that could rule out that he wasn't paid well in the end or that he was a joke.

Nah probably clothes were in suitcase and some other small things because when you arrive in los santos cj has no clothes and stack of money that tennpeny stole from cj dosnt look like it has more than a few thousand dollars so as you can see in introduction cj had to mug from people from time to time

Hmm yeah, you have a valid point! But now, considering that he underlined they took all his money, one of the conclusions could be that he was getting paid more near the end of his journey in Liberty City cause obviously, a long time before going back to LS we can see that he was only stealing cars and mugging people in the alleys. At least from our point of view, CJ seemed to be a small-time criminal, but in the end, could have gathered a good amount of money in return.

CJ doing more missions in Liberty city for salvatore or joey after Saint mark's bistro could have been exciting.

One missing detail is how Ryder & Big Smoke comment CJs Physic in the missions Sweet & Kendl and Ryder it indicates that CJ used to be build bigger & he got thinner because he was didn’t well in Liberty City, and probably didn’t have a lot money

While this video doesn't focus on this, I have another theory about why CJ had to leave Los Santos: When Brian's death occured, it's implied that CJ was caught by Tenpenny's CRASH unit, and during that time Tenpenny would start to blackmail Carl. But then once Carl was released, other Grove Street Families members could think that CJ was a snitch, since he didn't end up in prison (or at least didn't serve any long sentence). Probably even Sweet would think like that, but he would be rather more upset about the fact that CJ was involved in Brian's death. Anyway, Tenpenny once said to Carl that he was almost chased away from the city by his own homies, so there could be some truth in this statement. And gangsters would do such thing to someone who decided to cooperate with cops (if not outright "cap" them for treason).

I always had the theory that Smoke set CJ and Brian up. I think they were both supposed to die that night and that Sweet was supposed to have died not soon after.

That's a really interesting theory right there! However, we do have a question. So first, you mentioned that a certain line of dialogue allegedly implies that CJ was caught by Tenpenny when Brian died - which line of dialogue? As for the rest of the theory, it seems quite plausible at first glance, although we are surprised by your interpretation of Tenpenny's words that GSF "ran CJ out of town" as in they were even going to harm him, not only kick him out of the gang. We feel like this might go too far in this case. Still, we would be grateful if you could answer the question above. Great theory, overall!

@@gaminginvestigators I rather meant what Tenpenny said in Las Venturas before one mission, related to Carl leaving LS. But I can speculate that something like that (CJ being arrested by CRASH somewhere in the past, if not during Brian's death, then way earlier) because CJ doesn't seem like a random person chosen by Tenpenny to be framed for murder. Granted, the other Grove Street members also could be under CRASH surveillance, but since Frank seems to know CJ well, I can assume that there's a reason for it.

I want more Joey Leone. For some reason he’s been a favorite of mine since GTA 3.

I had my PTSD and WW2 flashbacks in the liberty city arc

The car chase in Liberty City was scrapped due to limitations in technology back in the 2000s. The ps2 just couldnt handle that much space.

I'd like to see a future GTA game (Not GTA 6) be about C.J.s five years spent in Liberty City, prior to returning home to Los Santos. That'd be sick.

Ain't it possible that maybe CJ waited till he drove thru Chinatown to make the call to Joey & the developers just felt it was taking too long so they cut it out?

I would love to see that concept of chasing Marco around liberty city although its should be noted too that PS2 limitations can't probably handle that much way way back so yeah

Yeah, the main reason behind getting rid of this idea was probably PS2 limitations... Still, they could recreate the whole of Portland in the universe of interiors just like they did with other tons of buildings.

Fun Fact: Vic Vance is the only 3D universe character who didn't any mobster things in Liberty City

I feel like if GTA fans focused more on characters before the games actual moment of in game time frame than we'd have a lot more information on how the whole story comes together throughout time before and after these events happen in different cities and characters. Example: what did Tommy vercetti do between time in Liberty City before he moved out to Vice City? How did Claude meet Catalina before leaving San fierro for him to gain her trust and what was he doing before he met her? These information questions help get a better story

@@gaminginvestigators what happened to Vice City as a whole map If it was updated to this time from what it was in the 70's?, we never revisited the map afterwards and if Ray Liotta gave rockstar his rights to do another game, can Tommy Vercetti still be old and running things in the storyline? but they'll have his character pass away due to natural causes in the game so we can get one last look at how he'd look being old and without Ken Rosenberg as his lawyer The only reason is because he can't do anymore GTA games if he passed away so his character would have to go They can take his old audio, have a machine edit it to make sentences out of it, and give him 20 missions out of 100 to beat the game and have the character leave the series That would be sweet if they did that. Please make a video of this idea and give me a shout out

I always like a the "what ifs" in any story. I also like when different parts of a story link/connect the main story (even across multiple episodes i.e. GTA SA and GTA3 etc). Have a good day reader :)

I was thinking big bear before he got on crack , you could see how Sweet robbed people to pay for his mothers operation, got shoes for kendal , how much of a buster carl was .... big bear probably ran with Big devil , lil devil and tony / brian instead of Ryder , big smoke and sweet / cj.

No, I think T Bone Mendez would be the best choice. Most characters in San Andreas are largely limited to single cities except for the Loco Syndicate, and T Bone's role as enforcer would be an appropriate fit for a GTA protagonist.

Yeah i think he know because in liberty city stories sal said to toni to work work Vincenzo and vincezo paid cheap and he say" even my son dont got it good" damn if working for vincezo that he only paid couple of 100 to kill and risk his life well joey was grounded for vouching for cj thats just my teory and in gta 3 he was in his garage working like a mecanic being the son of th #1 Don of the mafia while other member had nigh clubs like luigui,or capo like toni maybe because of cj joey aint got a better position of the mob because of CJ

Imagine having CJ in Liberty City and Claude in San Andreas then there could be a link between the 2 characters. And both characters might of worked together or separately. Plus Claude doesn’t speak in GTA III whilst CJ does talk in GTA San Andreas.

There is a connection. In the "Farewell, My Love," you race against Claude for Catalina, however she still goes with him to Liberty City. Which means Claude put up with her shit for NINE YEARS before she betrayed him at the start of GTA III.

I think after what happened to Caligula's heist,Salvatore Leon wants to kill CJ because for what happened in heist and he is a former employee of joey Leone so after Leone called cj after the mission,says he will gonna killed by Leone so CJ is now a red mark for Leone

I remember back in 04 or 05 I woke up to my uncle playing San Andreas at the part where Claud was taking CJs girl. We used to play GTA 3 like crazy so that was funny as hell 😂 and threw me off guard 😂😂😂

I recently played GTA 3 on PS2 and reached the mission where you need to kill Salvatore Leone at Luigi's place. I tried a trick from a speedrun, blocking the exit from the back alley with a truck, and waited for Salvatore and his guards to come out. Oddly, Joey Leone also emerged with them, so I shot him. Has this ever happened to any of you? Sadly, I didn't record it, and when I tried a few more times, it didn't happen again.

He left weak letting Brian die...came back when no one was hardly left and made it...developed. Strong

I don't think CJ even killed anybody in LC. Especially when everybody in LS is calling him a "buster" which lead me to believe that he always lacked heart to legitimately hurt or kill someone until he came back.

But seems like a very accurate one, Joey could have heard about CJ betraying his father, but he likely didn't care that much - he had his own business to care about. It would have been really cool to see CJ reconnects with Joey when he came back to Liberty City to kill Marco!

This is were I think GTA mixed Midwest Italian mafia and East Coast Italian mafia because it was more common in places like Chicago or Minneapolis than New York or New Jersey to see a black associate to the mafia but all the mafia cares about can you make money for us you don't have to be a harden killer or some badass you could just be some average nobody but you got a talent for making money they love you until you don't deliver money

CJ could have been the best criminal ever but he would never go up in rank in the Mafia as Italian mafia is very strict about who became a made man. Yes mafia did have people of different skin color working for them, but as associates not actual members if they weren't Italian. Promoting a non Italian associate could be really bad news as other families would look down at your family and some even started wars over it. Look at Pegorino from GTA 4 and how much they shat on him cuz he promoted Phil to a capo and he is Irish not Italian. Imo I think CJ wasn't that good since at the start of GTA SA he is terrible at shooting and even driving. And is forced to improve by the circumstances he finds himself in the story.

Oh yeah, the man certainly had great potential to be someone big in Liberty City. However, just like you said, he wasn't going to make a great career in the Leones. Not only was he less vulnerable to manipulation and making choices, but he was also black, which in the end did have a little effect on all this.

Would be Kool if they made GTA a bully style In the beginning like a 17 teen your old kid and see him start to become Kurupt lil by lil and then turns 18 and then starts taking people out I think that would be Kool see more back story of a character

I don't think so and this is how Torino came across to me. He really seemed to be a patriot at heart and very likely hated those profiting from and using drugs because it was and still is ruining America's image which probably upsetted him enough to go undercover in the syndicate and definitely appreciated CJ doing him and America a favour by putting a stop to it. It is also why he uses CJ to complete objectives because he knew CJ would get it done but of course wasn't their morality that allied them Torino had the Sweet get out of prioson card at play. I think the 2 man both hated what drugs were doing and Torino especially would have likely hated anyone with badge abusing that power for their own greed. Can't rule out though Torino could have been corrupt as well and didn't mind profiting while maybe playing the long game of being undercover but I doubt this because he just really didn't seem the type to me. He seemed to care about the future of his country greatly.

How come CJ doesn't pick up any money from the people who he shot? If he's working for Joey, would Joey take any money or items that CJ could pick up or was he just in a hurry to get out of the area?

Yeah salvatore did not give joey a better position but toni cipriani if you play the gta lcs game you know how much toni earn that position and from joey vouching for CJ to Sal and then get robbed is why joey aint Capo in the Mob 😂

what happens if cjs mom didnt die and also his brother? things will happen is cj would get a perfect life for his self the fact that if cj didnt go on liberty city for 5 years and his brother didnt die he would just stay at the house protecting his mother or more like he would die his self by getting shot infront of their door resulting the game to end earlier or make a video of cj in hospital waking up and escaping if that happens the game would continue but with different missions and things the fact that theres other way to make a scene of cjs mom gonna die no other enemies but big smoke he would just kill cjs mom because he betrayed them all. the fact that if cj accidentally kill big smoke by jumpscare the game would also end earlier but the game can continue by tenphenny, tenphenny would also kill cjs mom resulting to make cj kill tenphenny but the missions were like only 6 because its just easy to kill tenphenny without ballas and big smoke.
