@@captainjakemerica4579 Depends on how you look at things. Using the comics to create a timeline, Return of the Joker is NEAR the end of Earth-12's timeline, but not quite there. But even ignoring that, Justice League Unlimited's episode Epilogue is the end as it takes place about ten to fifteen years after the end of Batman Beyond.

Kevin Conroy Batman and Mark Hamill Joker are my favorites.

the funniest part? it came from a nobody who didn't know much about the character aside from the adam west series. i bet if the joker were real he would be in stitches about this fact. i mean, damn. kevin conroy didnt do voicework before btas, and didnt know thing one about the character until btas. the most iconic batman was the one that learned everything as he went along.

R.I.P Shirley Walker, the unsung hero of this legendary series.

Batman TAS is one of the first complete series I've ever bought and it's still the greatest

There was even a period where episodes aired in the evening so that children and adults can watch.

actually it premiered on a Sunday night.

I got the whole blu-ray collection of the animated series for christmas this year and needless to say, re-watching the series i've grown up on and can say was the first real introduction into the comic book world is a feeling i can't even put into words. This to me was, and always will be THE batman.

Spider-Man 90s Version

I absolutely love this show! It's the most comic accurate portrayal of The Dark Knight and it's what RockSteady used as there inspiration for the Arkham games. They even brought back the original (and greatest) voice cast from the show to do the games!

I would sprint home from school just to to watch this show. It's also the main reason I still have this DC app. Still quite entertaining

On Mr. Freeze: In his initial appearance, he wasn't trying to cure his wife. he was trying to kill those who had halted his experiments which resulted in his wife's "death." It wasn't until later that Nora was revealed to had been alive. Even after that fact, Mr. Freeze would retain his neutrality until the series revamp. Just a bit of information that everyone always leaves out.

To me, one of the most interesting changes this series made was to the character of the Riddler. Of course, I always associated the Riddler with the giggling, goofy version played on the 1960's series by Frank Gorshin. And that, I'm sure, was the inspiration behind the Jim Carrey version from the movie "Batman and Robin." But this cartoon's Riddler was the complete opposite of that: extremely quiet and soft-spoken. I was always fascinated by the difference, and I liked it (plus I liked the green suit-and-tie look more than the bodysuit). Looking back now, I think I understand why this change was made: because they didn't want the Riddler's personality to be too similar to that of the Joker.

Remembered recording this on VHS and watching this with my father. Good times.

What happened was after joker died in the mask of phantasm he came back to life with Mickey Mouse eyes lol.

Batman is the best character ever. He is just the best.

I loved this show so much as a kid. Right after school they had back to back episodes on at 3 and 330 (could have been 330 and 4) legendary show.

The late Michael Ansara did a great job voicing Mr. Freeze; we also see that Batman brought justice to those who turned Victor Freis into Mr Freeze.

BTAS, best 90s cartoon imo. Gargoyles X-Men Spider Man Duck Tales all close.

When it comes to enjoying lore of Batman, the animated series tends to be the best. All other creations don't come close. :)

What always did it for me was TWO-FACE PART 1-2. Richard Moll and Kevin Conroy were those characters to a T! The pathos and sympathy they brought to the small screen always hooked me in. I hope future generations will be able to appreciate the worlds BTAS helped bring about. 🇵🇷🇺🇸😎

We watched this in college right after track practice. We uses to rush back from practice to catch it. Great memories.

Great video! I remember being disappointed when the show was moved to Saturday mornings and Robin was featured in every episode. Up until that point, BTAS was aired in my area at 5:30 p.m., which "felt" perfect for the tone of the show especially in fall and winter. For a time, the show was also aired in primetime on Sundays. The Robin episodes were still amazing, though. One minor quibble: I think the writing on kids' shows at this time was generally exemplary. The Disney Afternoon and Fox WB shows were all clever and well-written, especially DuckTales, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Tiny Toons, and Animaniacs. Garfield & Friends over on CBS was also terrific. BTAS introduced a "human" factor into that anthropomorphic adventure comedy mix, emphasizing straight drama with little comedy (although BTAS had its humorous moments). Also: Voice actors generally recorded in the same studio at this time (as I understand it). Nowadays, they record individually on most shows. Thanks for the lookback!

So technically the DC universe is the first to have a "cinematic universe" in animation with batman being in the superman cartoon.

Batman TAS is GOATed

I was born in 1978 and was in my teen years when it was released, loved it and its follow ons. Now in my early 40s I still consider any comic based cartoon worth watching. Particularly the DC animated films that come out. It may be a little childish to still like cartoons but I like what I like.

Bought the blu-ray collection $55 well spent

They re-ran it in 98 on Cartoon Network just as it was getting dark. I was 11 and this show blew my mind. Best Batman and Joker. Amazing stories. One of the reason Clayface is one of my fav villains. Andrea the casting person for voice over actors in BTAS is amazing, she does some of the DC animated movies too.

Please bring this back!

I loved this Bruce Timm style of Batman, when I was a kid.

Love this series-wish it would return to tv,got the dvd box set.

You forgot to mention Static Shock, a series where Batman typically cameoed once a season beginning in season 2. It proved so popular that Static joined the Justice League and appeared alongside Terry (Batman Beyond) in Justice League Unlimited.

So, this was the video and channel I needed. Let's fucking go!

People were well aware of a different Batman aside from Adam West's. Tim Burton's Batman movie came out over a year before this animated series, the movie was a gigantic hit.

This is the quintessential superhero animated series. Complex characters, amazing stories and an incredible voice cast that to this day hasn’t been beaten. It even did definitive origins for characters who until then were b list. And the biggest appeal, it has aged well and still feels fresh some nearly 30 years later. And it spawned Batman Beyond. That show NEEDS to be adapted to live action.

This was the best Batman show they have ever created and it still stands the test of time. I could watch this Batman show forever and ever get bored of it. This Batman show was way ahead of its time. The thing I loved about this show was that it had a dark mature theme but it was also a kid show. The voice actors for Batman and the Joker car iconic and no one can ever replace them and they are indeed the true voices of the characters

I hope you do Beware the Batman eventually. That show gets so little discussion, and I'd like to know exactly why it got cancelled. Also, I appreciate that you didn't recognize the new Birds of Prey movie as anything more than a Harley Quinn vehicle.

Beware the Batman wasn't bad at all. I wish it had more episodes.

I remember in school discussing some of the episodes, and the younger kids were baffled sometimes about the message that "cartoon" had between the lines. When this series was on Amazon prime, I showed some friends from different ages between my age to some who were teens when the 66 TV show was on. At first they thought it was just another cartoon, mischaracterizing the theme it portrayed, before watching it. 99% of them watched the whole series on their own! They really enjoyed it overall.

This Batman cartoon and the Spider-Man from the 90’s on Foxkids was the best cartoons they had everyone in them.

Are used to get up early on Saturdays to watch this and watch the reruns after school.

The show that got me into comics and superheroes, this will always be personal for my Dad and I watching these episodes getting excited for the next episodes. To me it is nothing less than perfect.

Mark Hamill portrayed Joker' s laugh as a musical instrument. It had high notes, low notes, it could be light, or menacing, and it could improvise. There are no two Joker laughs that sound exactly the same! Genius! He's my Joker.

It got cancelled to make room for Justice League!
