@@Surveillance-Ys I'm actually a Man Utd fan but obviously paid great attention at the time to our great rivals, I always supported them in Europe. Best mate is a Leeds fan. Went to school in Wakefield so nearly everyone was a Leeds fan growing up around me! They used to play with grit, determination, bite and tenacity. Truly an outstanding team back then. I echo the sentiments of the fellow above, was an absolute shame Ridsdale messed it up. Don't think O'Leary should of been sacked either for finishing 5th that year, he had some massive injuries to key players & it was just the pressure of missing out on that CL money really.

Great interview @talksport .. Lee Bowyer was class, but he never quite made it on Tyneside mostly because, like Hugo Viana, he was playing in a decent side competing with Kieron Dyer, who was the established number 8. He went on, it continued in the game and eventually Bowyer lost his rag over it. Shearer also said in the same podcast that Souness was so angry he threatened to take them both on in a fight at the same time.

Bowyer has become a v.decent hard working respected Manager! Dier has disappeared into obscurity, slowly gambling away his money in Dubai or on a beach somewhere. So you tell me who was in the right wanting to win! If your team mate is muggin you off and harming the team.....you have no choice to stand up and fight! 👏👍

The thing I like about Bowyer is he has accepted his wrongdoings. He never makes excuses for them. Nobody is perfect and we have all made mistakes. If you can accept your faults and learn from them, that is the main thing. But as a player for us (Leeds) he was class. Always gave 100%! I say this as an Asian as well. With all the negativity that happened, I feel he has grown up!

This happens when real top players who have premier league able abilitys play in a team that doesn't quite match there own winning abilities and they play alongside at the maximum within the first eleven two or three players who match each others quality but cannot process the idea of loosing more match weeks than winning match weeks and the only reason we don't see it as much nowadays is purely down to the fact that players nowadays understand that anything they do is always being watched so they deal with the frustration in the changing rooms but even then they are not always safe from being watched from a phone recording there actions anyway winner's will always have this competitive fight it happens to winners more often than not we just don't see as much nowadays
