I personally knew Jason and I know his family. I am from Davidson County, I have known the DA since I was born. This was premeditated murder and they should have been charged with 1st degree. Molly knew what she was going to do and had FBI Dad come to town to help. I know the EMTs that responded as well. Jason had a sedative in his system that was prescribed to Molly two days before. She says “I was afraid he was going to get up and start choking me again” ... Jason’s head was beaten so badly that when the EMTs went to move Jason prior to seeing how bad his head was- because all of the lightbulbs in the ceiling lights had been removed they could not see well, all they had for light was a small overturned lamp- pieces of his skull and brain were falling on to the floor. Yeah Molly, I’m sure you were terrified he would get up and “choke you” ... She was taking over 10 pills daily, she was obsessed with his kids. She planned to kill Jason and be the hero that took the kids away from such a “monster”... it backfired on her/them because Mr. FBI dad that thought he could cover a crime scene and get away with it. He wasn’t as smart as he thought. Arrogant SOB. Now they have a retrial based on the fact that the court withheld statements from the children that were given while in custody of her and her family after being coached on what to say. Now the two kids are going to testify at the second trail, sadly reliving this whole horrible situation. Tom and Molly are entitled arrogant narcissistic murderers. Good ol fake news fails to mention they were taken back to the crime scene 6 hours after being arrested to remove evidence. Corrupt all the way around. I hope these two serve life. Justice for Jason, Jack, Sarah and the rest of the Corbett/Lynch family. Monsters like this do not need to be free and the media should be ashamed.

Why is the dad in street clothes if he was in bed. Shirt tucked in, belt on. And the mom was below. She would have heard everything. Why didn't she call the police? And what is paver doing in the bedroom? And what plans did the parents have that fell through that late that they went to the daughters house with a bat. The bat was a gift but and they just do happened to gave the bat with them when their plans fell through. I think it was a setup.

Thomas was quoted as saying, “I didn’t murder my son-in-law. And I would challenge any reasonable man, much less a reasonable father, to say that this was unnecessary force.” Yet, the forensic evidence from the scene depicted two people savagely beating to death an unarmed and naked man with a baseball bat and paving stone. Twelve people found this scenario far from reasonable or necessary. Also, the many blows to the head with an aluminium baseball bat didn't even make Jason flinch...? But apparently Tom hitting him with his elbow "brought him down", and killed him??? Right.

The father says Jason had Molly by the neck, so that Molly was “in front of him (Jason)”, meaning Molly and Jason were both facing her father, with Molly between Jason and her father. He says Hason was edging backwards towards the bathroom. Then he says he swung the bat around and hit Jason in the back of the head which infuriated Jason. How in the hell do you hit someone in the back of the head when they are facing you. Then he says he swung again and Jason caught the bat and simply plucked it out of his hands, which now made him fear for his life. So which is it? Either Jason was facing the dad and backing towards the bathroom with molly in the chokehold, or the father hit him in the back of the head. It’s not both. These two are lying and they suck at it.

Threw him across the room after he grabbed the baseball bat with one hand. Then she says "he was able to choke me with one hand and grab the baseball bat with the other hand." What a laughable statement, they made him sound like he was some superhuman. If someone swings with the baseball bat, you can not expect someone to grab it with one hand. With that kind of velocity, a person's palm would break with ease no matter how strong they are. Their stories never add up, it sounds more and more sketchy every time they open their mouth.

So to add insult to injury, not only did they murder the kids father. They used the "gift" they brought the little boy to kill his father. Sick... To me, Molly bashed bashed jason in the face and head while he was in bed with the brick. I think she did the most damage and her father came along with the bat and finished the job. They came up with a story snd then called 911. I think she had this all planned out because the husband was about to leave her and go back to Ireland with the kids.

Yeah maybe. It sucks to see Molly in this situation. This is what took my bestfriend away. 2 years before this i met Sarah in 1st grade. She was the sweetest girl. I remember Sarah and William (our friend) sitting behind me on the carpet in the classroom and them playing around, she was so happy at school. Watching this video over again made me realise that i do remember Sarah getting sad everytime her mom (molly) came to pick her up. I was 8 at the time so i didn't think much of it but Molly was always the one to take care of her. Molly was the one that went on school feild trips and came to the school holiday parties. To be honest i never once met Jason, maybe he was just busy but Sarah was always happy with her. Omg i remember Sarah and i always walking down the 4th-5th grade hallway and at the time i had the biggest crush on Jack, she always got mad at me and told me i had no chance because i was to little. I miss those times. But since we were kids we just started liking boys so she liked William and i liked her brother...haha! She was always happy around Molly and Molly was always happy around her. They were family, they loved eachother. To be honest i would bet a million dollars that she didnt kill Jason, Molly was to smart to do that. She would know that if she killed Jason she would be buying Jack and Sarah a one way ticket back to Ireland. SHE WOULDN'T DO THAT. Doing that wouldn't only take the kids from her it would also take her and their father from Jack and Sarah. Shes not that stupid. She doesn't deserve this. I couldn't imagine how Sarah and Jack feel. I haven't talked to my bestfriend since. The people that put molly in jail dont know the truth and they dont know her. Nobody knows exactly what happend that night except for Molly and her father. All i can say is I still miss them to this day and probably many more days to come.

Children in the attic bedrooms, is strange enough, having nightmares and afraid to tap on Daddy's door, somewhat stranger, Grandpa-in-law grabbing the bat that he brought along, is even stranger, and a big heavy rock just happening to be handy in the bedroom, even stranger. An Eliot Ness trained agent with all sorts of ideas of how to rationalize how to avoid having to make court appearances and providing evidence and explaining, is not a far fetched scenario. It worked at work with J. Edgar and Miss Reno, so why not in a country bumpkin situation? A bad guy with his head bashed in and mutilated and blood all over everything, and the poor innocent victim and hero unscathed makes for a three-bears bedtime story. The professional families, their minds confused by ideas of being superior people with superior rights and superior intelligence, fool themselves more than anyone else.

Two detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office and a Davidson County social worker watched the interviews through a two-way mirror.Sarah said in her interview that she saw her father start fights for “ridiculous reasons” and he would “hurt her mom.” According to the motion, Sarah said her father called Molly Corbett names on a daily basis and would call her on the phone frequently.Jason Corbett also stepped on Molly Corbett’s foot, pulled her hair, rolled over her foot with a car, called her worthless and hit her in the face, Sarah said in the interview, according to the motion.Jack said he saw his father “punch, hit and push” Molly Corbett and saw him push her down one time because “he wanted to look through her phone.”“(His father) would cuss and scream at her; his mom would cry and try to block her ears,” Jack said, according to the motion. In the months before he died, Jason Corbett got angrier - “his mom would scream for him to stop but she would just ball up under the covers and block her ears,” Jack said, according to the motion. On Aug. 13, Davidson County DSS officials asked Union County social workers to interview Jack, Sarah and Molly Corbett, with the “questioning focusing on particular incidents allegedly occurring years ago in Ireland.” The motion does not go into detail about those alleged incidents. Molly Corbett met Jason Corbett in Ireland when she was hired to care for his children after his first wife died from an asthma attack. They eventually married and moved to the United States.New interviewFreedman and Holton said in their motion that there’s no indication that the children lied or were coerced during the interviews. On Aug. 18, custody of the children was awarded to Tracey and David Lynch. Molly Corbett and her family were allowed to visit the children, and afterward, according to the motion, the children wrote notes in which they expressed their love for Molly Corbett.“You are the greatest mom anyone can have,” Jack wrote in his note, according to the motion. “Thank you for being a super mom. I love you past the universe and back.”A Davidson County grand jury handed down sealed indictments against Molly Corbett and Martens on Dec. 18, 2015. The indictments were unsealed Jan. 5.--Tom and Molly Martens are innocent! She is being crusified for being an attractive, tall and fit blonde. Her pictures show her flair for fashion as she dressed with confidence. Tom Martens is in prison because of his FBI status. The small town police force has always resented federal agents because they get higher pay and more respect. This is a travesty. Hope they get a new trial.

There are statements from Molly’s spurned exbeau in an Irish Nat’l Enquierer type newspaper. ALL of the salacious and bias info against Molly is from the IrishPress. What about Molly’s hair that was found being clasped by the dead wife beater? The son only called Molly a murderer after being in Ireland. Wifebeater’s ex died at 3am of an asthma attack? Jason liked strangling defenseless wives...not a coincidence. Did you see the video of the kids with Molly? Heart breaking. Those kids were traumatized and clung to her. I’m wondering why kid’s first testimony was not submitted. The guy was a HUGE raging wife beater. Even the dad is helpless and had no choice but to strike him to save his daughter’s life. Molly was a normal woman and they fell in love. Unfortunately, Jason was a wife beater. And as far as “drugs” in his system? It was trazadone prescribed to Molly. He was at least 150 lbs more than her. He was abusive. I wish they would reopen his first wives murder...but either way...these two deserve another trial. The only crime against the dad is saving his daughter’s life, but he was trained to be calm with his FBI training and the keystone Southern cops were intimidated. Molly’s crime was trying to protect those kids and began to document her abuse too late...oh, and she’s good looking, doesn’t smile enough...and she didn’t cry enough after wifebeater died.

Seeing her father is a former FBI agent he knows how to subdue and talk down a angry person, I am a parent myself and I am the first to say hurt my children and I’ll hurt you. But if the story is right Jason is a coward and going to jail for his death is now worth it, why didn’t he call 911 when he hear the fight that woke him up. It was loud enough to wake the family, her mother could have called the police, it’s a cop out there whole story. I grow up in violence with my grandfather abuse physically and mentally my grandma, my mother learnt his teachings well, my family was very heavy involved in the community we lived and very loved, no one believed me about what I was going through until I was 17 and her last beating finally saw the school call an ambulance on my arrival after my mum got stuck into me for refusing to take asthma meds as they were making me shake and I felt the dose was to high and I had made an appointment to see my gp that afternoon. The hospital got me the help I need to get out, but my adult relationships that followed saw me back living in abusive relationships. I got out, would I want to see these men dead because of what they have done to me, NO! My relationships with my mum are great these days after us getting the help we needed, my grandad never touch us grandkids but we saw what he did to our grandma and we live with his verbal attacks. Not does that matter anymore he passed away, but I was there by his bedside. There is more to this story

It’s doesn’t have a ring of truth and doesn’t make logical sense. Sounds like the father hit the son in law in the back of the head while the couple were arguing or getting physical and killed him. Then they concocted a story in an attempt to make it appear as justified homicide. I don’t believe the son in law ever fought the father or threatened to kill his own wife.

I believe them. I’ve been choked before, and it doesn’t need to leave bruises for it to hurt. Also, if they had hit him that many times and his head was completely crushed, what’s the point of CPR? It’s almost laughable. Your head is completed crushed. CPR isn’t going to do anything. Also, the husband was a big man. He gets one blow and knocks him down but not out. That’s probably why the dad hit him again...on the ground! Which is what the blood splatter shows. If I was sleeping downstairs, and I’m a heavy sleeper, I wouldn’t hear anything either. I imagine this happened within maybe 5-10 minutes? I imagine that’s even a long time for a fight.

A killing rightfully triggers strong emotional reactions from people, but none of the people commenting on this video to bash Molly truly knows what happened. It is quite possible that she was abused, in fact the children's testimonies support that. From the tape she had of her husband I definitely hear someone who is capable of being *extremely* mean. He was a drinker, and he knew that his wife was out of his league in terms of physical attractiveness. That could have made him very possessive, jealous and even physically abusive. I have witnessed at close proximity that cruel behaviour of insecure, jealous men. They sometimes do lash out physically. Of course, none of that justifies the killing - Molly should have just left. However, a lot of the statements here, and many ridiculous articles in the Irish tabloids, are so completely biased against Molly (maybe because of her looks), leaving no room for a balanced, objective assessment.

There's a lot more to this story...I don't doubt the husband was an abusing prick but the way everything went down is just fishy... notice how the wife pretends to cry (but no tears come out) and how when she tells her story she continuously looks left (an indicator of lying) also with that amount of blood the husband must have been knocked out before that and they kept beating him as an overkill. To me the dad already knew the husband was abusing his daughter and this could have been staged as self-defense. As a former FBI agent, he sure knows how and what to say to avoid suspicion...Anyways, I still think the asshole husband deserved what he got.

There is a lot more to it - correct. An abusing prick...??? - very much incorrect. If that recording of a row over pancakes was the best she could come up with, I would say he was a very normal person in an unhappy relationship. She had been to a lawyer seeking advice on how to get custody of his children. He repeatedly refused to sign adoption papers. Hence her pancake row recording. Justice has been served by twelve impartial jurors.

For all the people complaining about me assuming the husband was a beater... why don't we listen to the young daughter's testimony under cross examination that way as a young child if she were coached sooner or later the truth would come out. Second, I doubt he got beat with a bat by his wife because he was a "kind decent person". Murders done with the purpose of collecting life insurance are typically staged as accidents or disguised as natural deaths through poisoning. Getting beat to death with a bat shows deep seeded anger towards someone such as an abuser...

I fully believe Molly was abused physically and emotionally. I believe she stayed for the children. I believe they were arguing that night because he was a mean drink. Hey dad took it tho far when he heard the things he was doing and saying tho his daughter. He lost out and they tried to cover that up. Molly was definitely abused and those kids should be with her. She is their mother.
