My blood pressure was around 130-140 and i didn't understand why, I'm vegan and i try to eat healthy. My doctor advised me to go to sleep earlier, because usually i go to bed around 3 at night even though i get enough sleep. I started going to sleep before 12 and my blood pressure went down. For the first time in many years i saw numbers around 120 on the monitor. So the quality of sleep matters. P.S let me know if you tried going to sleep earlier and had the same lowering effect of your bp.

So glad you mentioned coconut oil... So misunderstood. It used to be clear that the two worst fats (at least as bad as animal fat) are coconut, and palm kernel oil, then the processers wanted to make it sound good, so they brainwashed the public. Now they're in everything. Also glad to hear someone talk about the sodium vs. potassium question. Need to focus on eating vegis high in potassium and don't add salt to food. Most vegis contain enough sodium for give a good balance. Tastes change, and not adding salt becomes the norm. So good. Thanks for the great video.

"Our inner squirrel comes out" - that makes so much sense. We tend to eat more in winter and less in summer, and it's interesting that the body basically wants to store up fat supplies in the body to guard against expected food shortages during the winter months.

I am a Whole Foods plant-based eater. My husband is not my son is not my other son is not during Covid. My husband ended up in intensive care for nine days and the other two sons were extremely sick. We all got Covid. I only had a problem from 6 PM till 10 PM the first day and it was just loosing my taste of food and lost my sense of smell. I’ll overwhelmingly ferret out better because of my food choices.

I'm plant based and took an omegaquaunt test while using 3 tablespoons 9f whole flax seeds in my smooothie instead of flax oil to get the fiber my 3 to 6 ratio was in the yellow for a while I incorporated 1 can of sardines in water daily and my omega 3 to 6 ratio has been in the green since then these pilchards will remain in my life.

Coconut Oil bad? I am based in the Philippines and if you go to coconut region where they cook their food with almost coconut products from coconut milk to coconut oil, you can see a lot of older people in these regions who are in general older than the median age of population. My testimony when we moved to the Philippines, when we switched from coconut oil to canola oil, our blood chemistry went bad. We were attracted by the advertisement and commercial of canola oil (thus the switch). WE switch back to coconut oil for use in frying, cooking, etc, our blood chemistry (CBC etc) became normal. For more than 10 years now, we maintained using coconut oil which has a high medium chain triglyceride content and continue to monitor our cholesterol level.

Is there someplace that has the whole recipe I can go by? I've got cooked black beans, walnuts and mushrooms, and just need proportions. Thanks Chuck & Dr Barnard!

Love everything you guys share. Thank you so much. I've gone Vegan for the last 8 months and loving it. But just wondered about Collagen. I'm led to believe we only get Collagen from animal products?? As I am 56, I'm trying to improve my skin condition. Are there any vegan foods that naturally provide collagen as I have noticed my skin seems to be dryer. Would love to hear a video about this. Thank you.

we have no need of additional collagen...a few Drs have talked of this..momentarily anyway.. put a lil moisturiser on your skin if it's dry but don't use coconut oil on the skin as it's been shown to increase cholesterol....some will tell you to increase the eating of fats but this increases body fat...weight...cholesterol....plus increases your desire for richer foods... better to stick a lil moisturiser on your skin better to
