Thanks CA for all your knowledge. I’m in my late 40’s and moved back to my childhood summer/Christmas home (hour+) of Dunedin FL. Fished Tampa Bay and the FL Keys all through my childhood. Life started and my 1st love of the water and fishing was put on hold for way too long. So when I landed back in FL and started buying up some fishing gear the intimidating factor of learning my new boat and putting a fishing plan together seemed insurmountable to say the least. The biggest accomplishment I had for a long time was catching my Guy Harvey fishing license! A few snook later I feel a bit better but still watch almost every video you post. Especially because life happens again and currently land locked in Midwest caring for awesome parents who are getting older with the rest of us. Hopefully we will all be heading back down to the free state of Florida sooner than later. I guess this is just a really long way of saying thank you for keeping me connected to the water and fish while I breathe awful non salted air! Happy New Year and best to you and yours!!

Interesting thoughts on lure color and water selection. You know what would be cool is a cheat sheet. Yamashita has one for lure selection when squidding. The cheat sheet covers foil color v cloth color v water clarity v sun /moon/cloudy it's amazing I'm suprised zman or other lure manufacturers haven't done the same. I'll try out your method this weekend. Flats fishing here in Brisbane is that walking in ankle to knee height water casting at dropoffs and holes. Thanks, what you said really makes sense.

new intro, cool. I did like the previous one... That Zman pinfish color works very well for trout in our area. The blue/green and gold specks are a great mix.

Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, kzread.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.

What a amazing video Profile has all ways been a big part in fishing where i am. If fish are busting up on white bait (tinny anchovies) its hard to get a hookup on a stick bait pilchard size lure no matter how reved up they are. Even when you talk about speed its like those jigging guys plagic species with take a knife jig but not so much a slowfall jig. Each species like a certain thing and matching the hatch is all ways key.

CA I fish ozelllo every weekend and you absolutely turned around my success rate , a lot of these other KZread guys just beat around the bush and try to sell you a program or class to learn , you on the other hand straight knowledge and experience being shared no bs , I’d love to meet up with you one of these days around crystal river /ozello , I’d also be glad to bring my camera gear out for some shots of you and the hells bay . As long as some awesome shots of you in action , catches and all , hope you see that as something worth while and we can get together some time ! Either way I appreciate the time you take to teach us all

Really interesting takeaway here. It aligns pretty well with what the New England surf fishermen teach as well. John Skinner always says to just focus on swimming the bucktail near the bottom (and always uses white pretty much in all scenarios). Zeno Hromin says he'll fish any lure as long as it's yellow. Guess they're basically onto the same thing - action, presentation, shape, and then way down the list is color.

I fish the from a kayak on the Texas upper gulf coast where water clarity isn't the greatest. The opaque baits do very well for me here. My favorite is the redfish toad. Goldrush, dark and stormy and purple with chartreuse tail do very good also.

I was told dark water dark lure...light water light lure so it appears natural. I get what you are saying though about natural camouflage so I guess stay somewhat natural yet throw in a strange flavor to make your lure stand out. Just trying to get a GENERAL guideline on color selection.

Could it be argued that dark colors in general are more effective than natural/white/translucent ones? Considering dark profiles should show up better against the light on bright days and also show up better on dark days/muddy conditions
