Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Time to get some gates hung in the fields at last. Also a good chance to look back and talk about the various fencing products and which we like best.

I love these bits and pieces busy episodes. You’ve learnt such a lot on the farm. Thoughtful of you to leave the children to chase and sort the sheep - memories being made.

You need my Australian Kelpie. Just stand where you want the sheep and he brings them to you. Love your work, team 👍

Chestnut is the rational wood for fencing. Easy to split vertically Straight and rot resistant. Lasts years

Yeah chestnut would be great too, that was first option when looking at hardwood but the Robinia was just. that bit more durable in wet conditions so went with that.

I admit Australia is a nanny state but Creosote has been against the law for years as the authorities (some government body) recognise it's a carcinogen.. Seems in the UK some of the good old products are still available to you..

Years ago every fence post was oak, simply because oak was cheap and available and oak posts would last longer, old farmer from uk

Yeah still pull out the odd oak post around here that's held up well. Hopefully get the same life out of these Robinia.

Tim, Have you heard of/ tried CREOCOTE as opposed to Creosote? Creocote is a synthetic equivalent of creosote that is not oil based and, therefore, non-toxic. My feather-edge fence looks just as good as it did on day one, 5 years later. Available from Wickes, amongst others, I expect.

The Creocote website describes it as oil-based, specifically, diesel.

Maybe try old engine oil? At lest it's free and do the job.
