During 2019-20, I and hundreds of other high school graduates were at various gap year programs abroad. When the pandemic hit and all of our schools, we needed ways to get home. At the same time, flight options were limited, and airlines were shutting down more flights by the day. Somebody (I don't know who) convinced an airline to charter flights for the students (I think there was a Miami flight, a New York flight, and a Toronto flight IIRC), so that everyone could get back. I ended up getting one of the last available commercial flights instead, but was considering the charters

I used to work as charter airline flight attendant. We usually chartered by other airline(s) or travel agents especially for Umrah pilgrimage flight to Mecca..

I've flew with the largest charter airline in the world, TUI so many times and they're amazing

Been on many charter flights during my military career, mainly on World and ATA. Also flew on Allegiant Air for college football charters flying teams to away games on the West Coast of the US. This was in early 2000's when very small airports didn't have TSA functions. We were trained in those skills and flew with the teams. It paid very well and was fun. Unfortunately, it didn't last long.

I actually work for a charter airline and was surprised it was not mentioned as it is the largest U.S. based charter airline in the industry. Nevertheless, a great video as always.

I flew on a charter flight when my unit deployed to Afghanistan. I don't know what airline it was and I'm not sure what type of flight it was

I fly on a weekly charter flight from YYC to northern Alberta for work. And there are many other charter flights that do this thing to different mines in the area mostly served by Canadian North, Westjet, and North Cariboo. Mostly 737s are used.

@@theburningorange3622 Oil fields,mines and forestry among other key industries require charters of all kinds with various aircraft sizes.

WAAAY back in 77, a carrier called Transair Canada flew a 707-320 from YWG to HNL on a charter. I travelled back on that aircraft when it was ferried back to YWG.

I work as Cabin Crew for a Charter Airline. I think we are the largest Charter airline in the world with up to 53 aircraft in 2022, A320, A321, A330 and Boeing Max.

Yeah, I’ve flown on various charter airlines like Smartwings, Enter Air, AMC Airlines, Small Planet Airlines back when their existed and even LOT Polish Airline operating Charter flight for holidays organized by tours operators.

Looking forward for this summer

I was recently scheduled on a charter flight arranged by Lufthansa from Orlando to Frankfurt. They chartered a Finnair A330, but I called the airline and I was rerouted through Chicago so I could fly on the 747-8 instead. That was a great decision! 😍

Was this in February 2023 because I was recently in Orlando and i did see some finnair aircraft and my flight tracker said they were coming from frankfurt so are they charters or are they scheduled 5th freedom flights by finnair or is it a stopover

@@roymackenzie-jy4lr Mine was in November 2022, but it wasn't a freedom flight. It's a Lufthansa charter from MCO to FRA. This flight is usually on the Lufthansa A340, but my guess is that they don't want to use the A340 on that route anymore, and Finnair has aircraft that they're not using on a number of routes due to the closure of Russian airspace.

I've flew on an iberojet a330-900 from Helsinki to Gran Canaria. It was operated for sunclass airlines.

I flew on small planet Airlines from LGW to KOS a few years back not sure if they are still operating? 🤔

Jet2 used an A330MRTT in passenger configuration before the Pandemic, I don't know if they still do.

The charter flights used to be the cheapest way to fly, until Easyjet and Ryanair came onto scene. If they had any seats left over, after the the seats to the package holiday makers had been sold, these seats would be sold off cheap. The charter flights would be cheaper than schedule services, and if there were going to be any delays, it is most likely to be the charter flights which will be delayed.
