San Isidro was the place we stayed. Overall it was nice , we were right next to the military airbase so sometimes we would hear planes flying real close and it felt like they would land on our roof I could not fly my drone...that area looked like it was up and coming. You could see lot of construction, the smart fit gym and bravo, and on the other side what looked like a typical Dominican neighborhood.

Good point Jay, you said a person could get to know the lay of the land of Puerto Plata and other locations in the Dominican Republic in a day or two. I live in Puerto Plata and travel to Santo Domingo frequently and I can say there is NO WAY you can learn Santo Domingo in a day or two from Villa Meja to Gazcue just raveling alone would take more than two days not to mention stopping at various sites to familiarize yourself along the way would take many trips. The other challenge is it is so easy to get stuck in your favorite part of the city like Bella Vista and neglect Piantini right down the street. For your Santo Domingo is #1 for me it's #2...LOL!
@JayAbroad

And you're right it's really easy to get stuck in your favorite part of the city even the next neighborhood is 10 minutes away.
I’ve been to most of the neighborhoods you mentioned. Zona Colonial was my first stop. Then a few places on the Malecon in Disrito Nacional. Piantini, Bella Vista, all over Este, San Isidro, Los Tres Ojos and lastly Norte. Love Avenida Venezuela and the Malecon on Avenida Espana

Santo domingo este Right now the city center is undergoing a similar transformation, there is a sector that is similar to piantini [alma rosa 1] And even in the future it will be much better, with much taller towers up to 100 meters high, this real estate development with ambitious towers is not available anywhere else in the city.

@@JayAbroad Is the area I'm going to be in dangerous? What outdoor activities are there in Santo Domingo being that is it the Capitol city?
@JayAbroad
Ай бұрын
@marierobinson5458 No, that area is not dangerous. It's located on the Malecon. It's about 5 minutes from the main tourist area Zona Colonial it always something going on there especially on weekends. You can walk along the Malecon either direction and it's safe. Sometimes there are things going on there too. Not sure what you mean exactly by outdoor activities. What are some things you're into or want to do and I can probably point you in the right direction.

@@JayAbroad First off let me say thank you so much for responding and being so helpful. As I've been a little nervous 😞 but as far as outdoor activities I was thinking atv, snorkeling, dolphins 😁 etc and again thank you for your time and info 🙏🏽

@marierobinson5458 You're welcome. Nothing to be nervous about. You will not find any of those things in Santo Domingo...lol! Santo Domingo is like the NYC of Dominican Republic. It's all city. To do those things you will need to go to Punta Cana or Puerto Plata. You can possibly find day trips that will take you from Santo Domingo to those places to experience it but none of those activities are in Santo Domimgo.
Yo bro. I'm trying to visit dominican republic for the first time. I'm looking for good drinks, good, food, and to mingle with the people. I don't speak alot of Spanish. Where do you recommend I go first?

Depending on what you looking for. Those things you named can be found anywhere on the island. Do you like the beach life, city life, rural life, eco life, etc.

Hey brother I want to know if I can ask you a few questions 1. If my finance has a tourist Visa can we get married here in the United States? I know you’re not a immigration lawyer but if you know one can you send me their information 2. I plan on moving there and I love watching your videos
