Truly tho prime David Lee yes when he was on the Knicks unfortunately he never was on a playoff team during his 5 years there , but man when he got signed with the warriors , he was a double double guy , but his sacrifice in 2014-15 was just unbelievable, coming off the bench to win a chip a lot of people respected that , very underrated center

It's not a breed. There's a reason why Lee is probably the only mid-range jumper in PF position as far as I can remember. It's just an anomaly. Aldridge and West are back-to-the-basket type of players like Duncan was and not a mid-range one.

David Lee was a dawg, and as a warriors fan since 02’ I think a lot of feel the same way that we are truly grateful that an all star player wanted to play in the bay. He really did set us up for a winning culture and having players wanna come play in the bay

Honestly we gotta give Lee his credit. He was warming the bench in the finals in 2015 and when they put him in the game in like game 4 and 5 I think, he started putting in some good work . Better than Bogut Much respect to my dude

People forget, Lee was a big contributor in game 3 as a spark that they almost won and games 4-6, continued that momentum to the 2015 championship.

yep dude was a walking 20/10 with 50% FG and 80% FT. Only thing he didnt do as a big was blcok shots but glady take him in the early/mid rounds

I credit David Lee for the turnaround in our 1st championship. Down 2-1 in the series, Lee played some minutes that showed Draymond how to facilitate as the roller when they were trapping Steph. Previously, Dray was getting calls for offensive fouls being too aggressive rolling to the basket but Lee came in and with his mid game range and distributed showed Dray other ways to attack to which he then implemented in the series. Dray was hitting floaters and dishing out to the wings or oops after Lee played.

I highly doubt that he will be a “Lost relic” in Warriors history. He’s very well loved by everyone in the bay and the Warriors as a whole.

I totally agree. Lee came here as a FA when you NO ONE wanted to be seen here much less play here. Up to that point the biggest name we ever signed was Derek Fisher, and we threw a boat load of cash just to get him. Let that sink in…Derek Fisher.

The Dubs were led by four draft picks in 2015. Harrison Barnes' contribution to the team gets overlooked way too many times.

I always liked how easy it was for him to score, he was a very good scorer and an offensive rebounder.

Underrated player! People forget he helped put that team in motion. Always remember when he played playoffs with that hip injury even when he wasn't supposed too.

I really started to get into Basketball around 2008 or 2009. back then in germany i could only watch one game every other day. I remember watching the Knicks one day and David Lee immediatly caught my eye because he was so good, yet underrated at the time.

My dad always said the Knicks gave up on him too soon. Zach Randolph too.

I started watching the Warriors when Bogut joined, and David Lee stuck out to me like a great player to have - consistent double-doubles, seemed to mesh well with what the new blood was doing, and I was stoked to see him get the ring in 2015. Sad to see how his career just never fit him in with another winning situation, but I will always respect David Lee.

I do follow him on IG, looks like a really wholesome guy, and has an amazing family too

I still own his Knicks jersey. I was happy for him being an All-Star with the Warriors and contributor to their first chip.

I have always loved him! I agree he never did get that much recognition, and lets not forget his 0.1 second game winner! one of the greatest game winners in basketball history

I really love this guy, especially with his time in NYK and GS! Ambidextrous, 15-20 PPG 10-15 REB guy, very versatile, very efficient, has a smooth jumpshot and has an outstanding skillset for a big guy.

I remember Lee was traded to the Warriors then resigned. As a long term Warriors fan, I appreciate his time with the Warriors.

Those footwork and box out during a rebound are top notch 💪

He's my favorite NBA player. I'm glad he got ring even though he didn't play very much. He's well respected every where he goes and that's shows how good player and person he's.

Sucks that a player as good as him will be forgotten to time, but he was one of the best PFs in the league during his prime. Just like guys like Carlos Boozer, Zach Randolph and David West.

Could you do one about Omri Casspi? He was a very solid player at his peak & he was quite unlucky in his career regarding to bad time injuries, and he was quite solid to say the least. Furthermore, he appears on the top of NBA players who had so NBA season appearances, but none of them in the playoff - 588 (!!!).

Great idea! Although Casspi didn't play particularly great, and even got cut, I still think he deserved a ring. He played 53 games, that's 65% of the season. I feel like he did more than a lot of guys with courtesy rings 🤷‍♀️

He was a good shooter

I was heartbroken when he left the Warriors after they won the ring in 2015. I remember Green being the backup for him, wish he was still there when they won the next 2

Mans was a MENACE on the glass

He was a factor in the Finals off the bench. Most of their runs are with him on the court. The vets Iguodala, Bogut and him kept them together when the young stars were struggling.

Thank you for pointing out he was the foundation of the Warriors. He was our first all star in years. And he chose to come to the Bay. Thank you David Lee.

He helped them stay relevant and if he never signed with Golden State I’m sure the franchise would have a different past

I was Lowkey just remembering this man when you posted this.

In 2012-14 Lee was one of the building blocks for the dynasty. Real warrior fans of this era understood his impact on the origination. He played very well off Curry and had a certain knack for scoring the ball inside. He isn’t forgotten for his contributions. There was irony in his injury allowing Draymond the chance to play. I remember during his injury, it was relatively excepted Lee would get his starting job right back as Draymond at the time didn’t have a proven resume better then Lee’s. But the length of absence and the amount of success Green had were the main factors in pushing Lee out. If he didn’t get hurt, warriors still woulda been dirty and I think Green would eventually haven taken over. But good example of how life just happens.

I remember his young days at Florida University he could jump out the gym! I’m surprised you didn’t throw in some cuts of him dunking while he was on the NYK.

In 2014-2015 the dubs replaced mark Jackson as coach for steve kerr. That season draymond started 79 games in his 3rd year, he started 12 the prior year. That season lee stated 4, but started 67 thd year before. Draymond's first 2 years mark Jackson tried to play draymond as bench small forward next two bigs. Kerr recognized they could start a 6'6" power forward, because he's that good. Fun fact: lee had his second triple double the same night monta ellis set his career high in a 3 point loss to okc. I was there. 2/7/2012

Lee gave the Dubs important minutes in Game 4 of the 2015 Finals. They were trailing in the series and that game turned it. He earned that ring and you kinda glossed over it.

David Lee was one of my favorite Knicks. We had some quality players during that time but could never find the right mixture or be patient enough.

I’ve always loved David Lee. For one, he played for my favorite team, the Warriors, and two is obvious.

D. Lee is one of my favorite knicks players of all time dude was soo much fun to watch

David lee was my first fav player and fav player on the warriors when i started watching in 2011 in first grade

His career wasn't a cautionary tale, but a story of success. Let's not forget he was the 30th pick of the draft, as a 22 year old rookie who was never valued highly. The man pretty much came out of nowhere and became a very solid player. His prime could've been longer if he came into the league earlier, as he was an ideal gritty 2000's post scorer. The higher tempo, small ball version of the league just wasn't suitable for him, causing him to have a relatively short career.

Still mad respect for David Lee. One of the Dub's trusted players.🙂👍
