I love your videos, really helpful to know some things about Vegas that I have not been told, I’m visiting next month so this is exceptionally helpful! Thanks 🙏
The only time I’ve been to Las Vegas was when I couldn’t gamble. I was still in high school. My oldest sister got married there. Even though I couldn’t legally drink or gamble, it was still cool to explore, see shows, and hit up the buffets.
Totally agree about riding the bus on the Strip. I was staying at the Tropicana and I had friends that were staying mid-Strip. Even in the mornings (when traffic was lighter), it took a very long time to get around. Paradise Rd. would have been better, I think. It's a cheap way to get around, but don't be in a hurry. Glad to see you guys back in Vegas!

Another what not to do: Do not, I repeat; do not walk from past the Wynn to The Fremont Experience. My friend and I thought that it would be a good way to get some steps in and enjoy some of the sights that would culminate at Fremont street. BIG MISTAKE! There were tons of homeless, mentally insane yelling things at us and shady characters trying to walk uncomfortably close to us. We walked this area in the middle of the day (I couldn’t even imagine at night) and we are incredibly lucky that we did not get attacked or mugged. I had no idea that there was any part of the Strip that was unsafe but that area is extremely sketch. We did this walk this year in January, I’m not sure if it has improved or used to be safe but anymore it is absolutely not!
@firechikn91

As a 26 year resident of Las Vegas I could tell you - you have no idea how lucky you probably were actually. That area has been bad since at least the 70s. Back in 96 they thought the new Stratosphere Hotel would help clean up the area but it did not. They have tried upgrading and updating some of the complexes around there. Those have been affordable housing since the 1930s when most of the Hotel employees lived there due to being a close to drive to work. Part of that walk (around Strat) is known as "Naked City" because thats where all the showgirls lived and would sunbathe publicly by the pools. After a few years they could afford some of the housing popping up around the city off the strip and then a new crowd moved in. Its gotten worse and worse ever since! DO NOT WALK NORTH OF THE WYNN

I’ve walked from the strip to downtown multiple times and from the golden nugget to the mgm grand just last week. It’s a nice 6 mile walk and the arts district is actually pretty new and not bad at all. Much better than it was even a couple years ago in my opinion. Idk I don’t fear that kind of stuff
I enjoyed your videos alot. I have been to Vegas three times, had a good time on each trip( no gambling for me). Luckily I didn't fall into any of the scams from your other video. I only have one issue with this one, you told us not to ride the bus because it took too long to get to your destination. I did not feel that it wasted my time I was never in a hurry when I visited so I enjoyed the ride. I even caught the bus to the airport on my second trip and got their with time to spare. Keep up the good work , I will check out your Mexico vids next.
Hello Maddie & Jordan! So glad to see you both! I love your turtle shirt Jordan! Maddie, hopefully people will listen & not take out house credit. Money is easier to spend than it is to make. The casino I visited at the Meadows in Pennsylvania was neat! 1st & last time. My Aunt & I each had $20.00 on our card to use in the machines. We happily played the penny machines. I played the one game called "Dam Beavers". Waitress come around & we had bottled water. We don't drink alcohol. I noticed there was a sign with a toll free number for people who had a gambling problem to call. I guess there are signs like that in the Casinos there also? Very nice place. Very exciting atmosphere. Have a nice day!

One tip I’ll share. I purchased a money bank to bring to Vegas, it’s a wallet sized metal case that you can slip dollars into but cannot open without the key. So I leave the key at home, when I win money, I’ll put it in the bank so that I’m not tempted to spend all my winnings! Then when I get home I’m sometimes shocked at how much is actually in there, it’s an almost guaranteed way to leave with some money 😉

I agree, Always be kind to people, and just be peaceful & careful in Las Vegas!!!
Great info.
You're wrong about the bus. The deuce is for jumping one or two resorts up and down the strip. Like say from ceasar's to NYNY. The express only has a couple of stops and takes like twenty minutes to get from MGM grand to freemont. The deuce stops at every stop, the express only has like 4 stops. And they both run on the same pass which costs like $20 for 3 days. I can't imagine spending $10-20 every time I wanted to go somewhere. Who can afford that?
@Hugh281163

I agree with Clayton. The SDX bus is awesome!
@lafemme8
3 жыл бұрын
I was just there last week and for some reason, I believe due to COVID, they have eliminated the SDX route and altered the DUECE route a little for when you are in downtown. So unfortunately there is no express way of going downtown from the strip at the moment. Hopefully they change it back later as I have taken the SDX in the past.
Casinos rarely enforce the "no photo" policy anymore, but they are adamant about the "no phone use" at the tables. And Las Vegas averages over one pedestrian/motor vehicle fatality per week, which is why they're overly aggressive about jaywalking. Pretty good common sense advice.
You are so right about the deuce bus. My sister thought that was better than a Uber since we were staying on Fremont. It was horrible since it stopped at almost every corner and it was hot and crowded. A big no no.
I miss Vegas.. Had to reschedule my trip 3 times now (from the netherlands). Don´t think we get to travel to the USA anytime soon. Aiming for september 2021, fingers crossed.

I live in Las Vegas and most everyone else that lives here thinks is really annoying when tourists and vacationers clog up the street. I know it’s annoying but don’t just cross the street whenever you feel like it because you’re drunk and you don’t feel like waiting at the crosswalk. Sometimes we get a greenlight but the tourists won’t stop walking back-and-forth and they don’t abide by the street signs or crosswalks at all and we have to sit through multiple lights sometimes..... it’s rude don’t be a douche bag. It’s tempting for some of us to just run you guys over..... you have to understand that for those of us that live here some of us have to cross the strip to get to and from work, or carry out their daily lives in the city that they live in. Also I can’t tell you how many times Visitors from out of town come to Las Vegas drink too much and drive and they end up hitting somebody that’s just trying to get home from work or going to work...Or a family that is just trying to get from point a to point B etc.... if you’re looking for budget it might be a little bit off the strip but station casinos are a good place to start and their buffets are not bad. You can also register for a station casino card and that will give you additional discounts. If you’re looking for something fun and more family friendly, try out Fremont Street. We take our kids there all the time and we have a blast every time. You can get some pretty eclectic and special Souvenirs that won’t cost you very much from street performers and artist etc. Also, lookout for pickpockets it is becoming a real issue even for those of us that live here and know better.

Agreed on the buffet situation - usually paying a bit more yields way better quality... except at Aria (in my experience) - super disappointed there. The food was so bad we actually complained which I would never normally do at a restaurant. Wynn, Bellagio and Cosmopolitan (Wicked Spoon) have always been awesome.
A lot of great info and advice on here guys. Thanks! I did have one question. I don't care for buffets so much but rather prefer the coffee shop experience where you just go in sit down and get waited on. Haven't been to Vegas in 10 years but I assume they are still in existence?
Great advice, listen People👌
Good tips, thanks.
I was there during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic lots of stuff was closed. I would recommend going after all that is over or not as bad.
Hi. Vegas changed a little. My bride wore a knit top on a trip to Vegas. That was 45 years ago. And she still knits. God bless and good luck.
For the buffets, I ate at the mirage, go around 3:30pm and pay the lunch price. Grab a plate of food, then take your time and wait 30 minutes and get the dinner items, but pay the lunch buffet price. This worked in 2011, not sure if they’ve since clamped down on that or not.

I've lived in LV for nearly 21 yrs,..Well when u first arrive,u will find everything so large&the Hotel/Casinos are like Maize's (they really don't want u to leave,unless u have no $$$$ left) ..But the first thing u should do is get a "Players Club card"each Casino has it's own,all they want is ur ID and should receive a complimentary 5or 10$ to play with+ future offers of promotions via email..But each time u play a machine,u stick the card in&accrue points.. Also try&locate the nearest Walgreens along the strip for Drinks/Snacks for ur Hotel room(much cheaper)..And I would discourage anyone frm using the Casinos ATM(of course I've done it when boozed&incoherent)U will get charged a ridiculous fee 4 to 6$$, or something&then ur Bank hits u up as well and meanwhile ur spending that dough at the very same Casino! ..So bring enough cash(or ur CC)..Anyway that's a few "long winded"pointers for u to ponder! ..Enjoy ur stay&stay healthy..Oh and I nearly forgot,it's easy to be distracted while at these Casinos(Sensory overload is the order of the day here)and the Bums &Hustlers are always scoping out Potential victims..So stay vigilant👍

Adding to the car situation. If you decide to go to the grand canyon or something off strip most casinos have a rent-a-car company in them. You can also take an ride share to the rent-a-car place at the airport. As well. So much cheaper by far than renting a pointless car.
We’ve never been to Vegas (yet)☺️ But have watched quite a few of your videos regarding the “ strip “ maybe a few too many as I’ve been dreaming of walking the “strip” but the homeless women always cuts in front of me and dumps the garbage can 😂 but then I proceed to help her and she gives me $$$, and says good luck! Hmmm maybe we should go sooner than later🤗
Bold retro choice with that crocheted top, you pulled it off though.

We lived in Cuernavaca for 2 years and you guys are on the same trajectory. After a couple years, living in the third world wore on us. We were sad but somehow elated to return to Tucson realizing we could never permanently live in Old Mexico...although we dearly miss it and return often...strange, Huh?
Great tips, I have a question though: if Las Vegas is one chapter on a larger, self drive road trip (once in a lifetime, no gambling) would it make sense to stay on some cheap off-strip place and drive to the Strip daily?
