Effects of slave trade to development of education in Africa?

Kingdoms captured slaves because they were blackmailed to. It was either “give us people from other kingdoms and we will give you guns to protect yourself from being captured,” or “we capture all of you.”

@@salimcontise6439 what do you mean by “all of them?” And you need to understand too that there was nothing like “black unity” or “pan Africanism” at the time, as these kingdoms were either at war with each other, or enemies, and spoke completely different languages, not even dialects of the same language, but completely separate languages like we still see today. They fought back, but eventually lost, and as is done with wars, the victor takes captives from the defeated. That’s how most slaves were gotten. Speaking for my tribe specifically, the Ashantis, the British had been fighting them for years and years since the 16th century, and we even killed MacCarthy in 1824. Itwasn’t until 24th July 1874 that the British finally managed to defeat the Ashantis. And even after that defeat, when the British demanded the golden stool, (we believe it has the souls of the unborn living and dead of our tribe, so they wanted it as a symbol of their victory), the chief was going to give up the golden stool, and the warriors refused to fight anymore, so a Queenmother, Yaa Asantewaa, she gathered the Ashanti women and fought the British. Of course with no military training and the biological physical disadvantage with fighting against men, they lost and she was captured and kept at the Elmina castle, and then later transferred to the Seychelles Islands. I’m telling you all this so you know they didn’t just sit on their asses while the Europeans captured slaves. Greedy kingdoms like the Fantes who wanted direct trade with the Europeans helped to capture their enemies, the Gas and Ashantis, for the slave trade, and in other instances, it was blackmail. You can centrally do your own research as well. I know this side of the history because I live here where my ancestors documented it. Even the British who settled here for some time documented it this way as well, but that’s obviously not how it’s being taught in the West, for whatever reason, they want to paint themselves as “heroes who conquered savages.”

How exactly? I mean she is just explaining the pro's and con's for people to use for essays I don't really see the problems with saying that there was a short term positive side to the slave trade or am I not understanding what you mean, if so please elaborate.
