    Just want to say that Dr. Taylor is an exceptional woman! She is kind, giving, frank, brilliant, funny, as well as a doctor among all her other achievements. Even with my lack of Oxytocin, if I could have a friend left, I would give anything to have her as one of my closest friends. When I saw the video of her birthday celebration with friends, I thought that it was exactly the type of person I would love to have in my life.

    I’m so thankful I stumbled onto your channel a year ago!! I have learned so much and since then I have found a menopause specialist in my area who has started me on a .075 mg/day Estradiol patch, told me to cut back on my red wine and coffee consumption and have received tremendous relief!! Could you possibly address the nay-sayers in the medical field that say that taking estrogen replacement will eventually render your adrenal glands useless. I keep hearing this and reading comments on KZread of women saying that’s why they refuse to take estrogen along with the misconception of it causing cancer. I would really like to hear your thoughts on that.

    My MIL, age 74, just broke a piece of her L4 disk off removing a casserole from the oven a few weeks ago which has caused her horrible pain and numbness in her leg. Now she will have surgery to repair the injury. She opted not to take estrogen after her hysterotomy in 2001. She's of the belief that hormones are bad. So sad to watch our loved ones have troubles as they age. I am so thankful for this education as I continue to go through your videos (in order!). You're a gem and have definitely convinced me of the benefits of HRT (I was of the "natural" camp before because of several friends I have who also think HRT is bad).

I wish my doctors were as knowledgeable as you are. Thank you Dr. Barbie!!!! Updated. These symptoms came on gradually over several years. I only lost my menses in the last 4 months.

    Judith, I can help you right away with everything if you schedule a one-on-one consultation with me. You needn't suffer, and you definitely have many options to improve your symptoms. I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works: 1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone. 2) I would confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I would need all these things at least 1 week before your consultation with me. 3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points put the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages. 4) I will send you the document by email at least 24 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth. 5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed. 6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use. 7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and balance their options. The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got form the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request. So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively). I hope to meet you soon!

    This video is hilarious! 😂🤣 I mean not that all of these things dry up is hilarious but how you describe them all and your facial expressions too. So funny. The ovary comparison with the almond was great. Sadly it is all true. I was just telling you in another video a week aloe so ago that I had many of these issues and more. I started my oral estrogen 1-1/2 months ago and I am feeling so much better. I never realized how important estrogen is to everything. Estrogen is amazing. I am no longer afraid of it thanks to you and this wonderful education. What is cool about surgery these days is my doctor took a pictures of my insides while she did my sacropoplexy surgery and it all looked pretty good still so I hope taking estrogen keeps me like that! I am enjoying learning about everything. I know my female parts better now than I have my entire life. 😳

    Dr. Taylor, i may have gone on HRT a bit too late. I went on it when i started having hot flashes and horrible awful night sweats. But i noticed my skin getting saggier and much more cellulite (i am not overweight) and haven't seen a reversal of skin integrity on HRT (but complete cessation of night sweats and hot flashes). I am on 1 mg Estradiol daily plus i use a progesterone cream topical (my doc wants me to use 200 mg Progesterone micronized but my emotions don't like too much Progesterone) and i have been on all about 2 yrs. IS THERE NO HOPE for my skin regaining some of its suppleness and some of this belly fat going away? Seems like HRT would have helped some of this but it has not (i know aging cannot be stopped). ALSO... i still have to use Estrogen vaginally which helps immensely. Does this mean i need more oral Estrogen or is this common to need both? Thanks for everything you do.

  • @MenopauseTaylor

    @MenopauseTaylor

    5 жыл бұрын

    Your situation sounds entirely normal. You have to realize that, during the time you were not on HRT, the aging of your skin began. And you can't reverse that. But, by taking HRT now, you have slowed the process down tremendously. Most women hate the side-effects of progesterone. If you need more help with fine-tuning this or finding progesterone options that produce few or no side effects, schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. Most women need additional estrogen for their vagina no matter how much they are taking for everything else. (I'll teach you a lot more about this in a consultation, too!) And when it comes to belly fat, there's a bunch to learn. I won't get to the videos on weight gain for a very long time, but if you schedule a consultation, I'll cover that, too. We pack weight on to our bellies at menopause for a bunch of reasons.

    Nothing is "best" for all women. "Best" is a marketing term. All that matters is what's best for YOU. And to determine what's best for YOU, you ignore everything you've heard and listen to your own body. EsTRIol is the estrogen produced by the placenta to support a fetus. It has no benefit for you at all.

  • @MenopauseTaylor

    You can start taking hormones whenever you want. I have no idea how your doctor (or anyone ) can give you a timeline for when you'll become post-menopausal, though. You can't predict that. Some women in your situation choose to take birth control pills. Others choose to go ahead and start HRT. Still others choose to do nothing until they become completely post-menopausal. There are positives and negatives for each of these options. That's what my education is all about ... knowing the positives and negatives as they apply TO YOU. That's what I do in one-on-one consultations: tailor all the options to YOU. So, if you ever want a consultation, just go to MenopauseTaylor.ME to schedule one.

    Hi Dr. Barbie, just wondering why men, as tbey age, also increase their risk for heart attacks as well as brone breakage (though not as much as women) and alzheimers. You taught that it is the estrogen that keeps our arteries soft and pliable ( and keep the density of our bone). If men dont have estrogen, and dont suffer its' loss in aging, why are they prone to heart attacks and alzheimers? On another note, i just did my second dexa, have my overall t score, (which has significantly gone down since last test), but the particulars for each specific area will only be sent in two weeks. Is that info important, that is, should i wait till the two weeks to include it in a consultation with you, or is it enough to have the overall t score? Bless you for all that you do.

    No disease has only one risk factor. If you watched the videos in the heart attack unit, you learned the the list of risk factors for a heart attack includes about 16 factors. You cannot attribute all heart attacks in women to estrogen loss and ignore all the other risk factors. And men have a long list of risk factors that do not includes loss of estrogen. When you schedule a consultation, you will have only 5 days to submit all your information to me. I will not address anything you do not submit in advance. This is a strict protocol. So, wait until you have the entire report of your results in hand before scheduling. I look very forward to meeting you and helping you, my dear.

    I am past that "window" you mentioned for taking estrogen. My plan was to begin taking a natural cream with progesterone (wild yam) and estrogen (red clover extract). Instructions say to use it every day for 25 days but I think I'll use it 3 times a week, and use natural progesterone alone on the other days. Am I in danger taking a natural source also, or is this as dangerous as taking the synthetic versions the dr. gives you?

  • @MenopauseTaylor

    @MenopauseTaylor

    5 жыл бұрын

    Donna, These products are nowhere near as effective or as "dangerous" as pharmaceutical products. But you still need to know what you're doing. It sounds to me like you're creating your own regimen. Wouldn't you like to have a one-on-one consultation with me to make sure you know everything you need to know to succeed? The real issue is understanding all the OTHER things you need to do to compensate for the fact that you can't take estrogen. Most are 25 - 30 pages.

Refridgerated all of it and used Clean Technique. Instilling into each eye two drops and waiting. Carefully wiping out the residue with saline soaked Q tips and taking 50 to 100 mgs. Of DHEA EVERY OTHER DAY BY MOUTH. I GOT WELL. SJOGREN'S SYNDROME STOPPED, COLD. But then, I was DESPERATE as my eyes were already ULCERATING. HOUSTON'S A-HOLE DOCS WERE REALLY SH+TTY TO ME ABOUT IT. My short-term memory is also not good either. From your experience, is this pretty common or does it sound like my estradiol needs to be increased? Thanks for your thoughts!

    Hi Dr. Taylor, As usual, another informative and timely video. I have been post menopausal for two years now and have been on the lowest dosage of the combipatch during this time. I called my gynecologist for a refill and her nurse was kind enough to send that through, but only gave me a 3 month supply (as opposed to a full year). She mentioned that I needed to set up my annual visit and I am hoping that this is the only reason...that my gynecologist just wants to make sure that all is well before okaying the remaining prescription. I do remember her saying initially that she wanted to keep me on the lowest dosage for the shortest period of time. I hope this won't be a visit where she tells me she will no longer prescribe it for me (I do not take any medicines of any kind other than the combipatch and calcium pills). I am going in prepared with a list of reasons to stay on it as per your fabulous tutorials just in case. I hope that I am just being paranoid, but you never know. Fingers crossed! Again, thank you for always being so supportive and a wealth of valuable information!!!!

    Maria, If you really want to be prepared, schedule a one-on-one consultation with me BEFORE your appointment. You really need to know the guidelines that doctors follow and how the system works if you want to get what you want. There are sooooo many pitfalls that you can't even imagine. For instance, the mantra "Take the lowest dosage for the shortest period of time," which I've covered in several videos (most recently video 130) is one that you NEED to know about from this education. There are many other nuances. I will prepare you so that you know exactly how to go about getting what you want. Vaishali, There are many different options for every woman. However, finding your best options requires tailoring all the options to YOUR particular needs and desires. That's what I do in one-on-one consultations. If you'd like to schedule one, I'll be happy to help you using any options you prefer. I'll tell you al the advantages and disadvantages of each, and I'll make sure you know what to expect from each. Most are 25 - 30 pages.

    Well this really sucks! Lol. I’m 57, long hair and not dry. Not much drying up here. I feel great! Doesn’t all have to be so awful. Exercising helps immensely with the way you feel. And not eating too much processed foods. There are ways to get it through it without gaining weight and belly fat! It’s not all down hill!! I personally think our mindset is our worst enemy. HRT does help with the symptoms but there are so many other things we can do about all this. ❤️

    Like growing older needs more people to make it sound awful...many have not gotten the blessing to become older, share their wisdom, retirement, etc. This woman blames every ugly bodily function to menopause..however men have gotten the same dry skin, brain fog, harden arteries, etc. Be happy to be alive, positive to watch children become adults..& mess up. And share every day with others..we all will die...at least make the best out of the journey..or at least enjoy being a pain in the ass to others..

Most of my symptoms are under control but still some vaginal dryness and my skin and hair are a mess (it seems as though this happened very quickly). I’ve been diagnosed with osteopenia so osteoporosis is a big concern. I’m wondering if I would benefit from a higher dosage or another type of hrt. Thanks for your commitment to menopause women!!

    You have the right attitude. The way I see it, menopause is the most powerful time in your life. Never before could you choose options to manage things your way. I call it "menopower." Menopausal women are the fastest growing sector of society. If women would wake up to the fact that they can have things their way and demand more, the status of menopause in the world would change. But as long as women are ignorant or in denial, nothing will improve. It's kind of like the situation with the Me Too movement.
