In Australia, the nutrition information label includes the amount of everything in the can - for 8.4 fl oz (250ml) cans, it has 1000mg of taurine (the same dosage as the supplement used in this video), 80mg of caffeine, 20mg of niacinamide, and 5mg of pantothenic acid and vitamin B6. I hope that helps anyone who is curious!

I've done some research on Red Bull on my own cause I have a very unusual reaction to it. I've got ADHD, and when I drink an 8.4floz can, I get super relaxed and focused. I drink one a day now. Totally changed my life. I tried drinking 2 of them in a row once and got really drowsy for the next like 5hrs. But anyway, in my research, I found that Taurine is really active in blood vessel dilation. For those who might not know what that means, It works to keep them the right diameter (this is one of the ways the body regulates blood pressure). I would also encourage everyone to always look at more than one source when researching something. The internet is a big mix of opinions and facts. This guy knows what he's talking about tho.

Red Bull and other energy drinks are still bad for you, entirely due to the sugar content. I can't lie. I also drink one a day. However if you're looking to be as healthy as possible then you're better off just taking taurine supplements and either laying off the caffeine or looking for a healthier source of it. The only reason why I don't do that myself is because energy drinks taste like the nectar of gods to me.

Stopped drinking caffeine last summer. Since then I've had probably 3 cups of coffee just because I do really like the way coffee tastes. After an hour or so of drinking the coffee each time, I seemed to go into something of an anxiety overload for hours. I used to drink so much crap like this. Everyone needs to listen to their own body. But for me, I found that pairing large amounts of caffeine consumed quickly and with sugar often makes me feel worse. Jittery and almost lightheaded. I ended up abandoning soda and energy drinks for coffee, which I drink black, slowly, from a thermos. I find this gives me the best boost without the cliff at the other side. I also don't drink full caffeine every day. I'm a heathen who drinks decaf most days (because I actually like coffee) and go for the real stuff when I need it.

I mean caffeine is nice, but without nice beverage it's just not worth the effort. It's stimulant with pretty low effect and duration, if you drop caffeine after while you don't need it. I know this because I'm highly irregular drinker, sometimes I don't drink coffee/tea for couple days, sometimes it's one cup, sometimes it might even be up to 5 if I'm genuinely tried. As long as you don't have habit of drinking multiple cups a day regularly, in which case you can form slight addiction and can get headaches, caffeine is totally optional.

cocaine is a dopaminergic stimulant, which means it causes an increase of dopamine in the brain. for someone who likes skateboarding, the brain would look similar, same with video games, (sugar), social media, even eating. the problem with cocaine is that it is almost a full DAT (dopamine reuptake transporter) inhibitor, meaning that it keeps dopamine in the synapse of neurons much longer than it’s supposed to be there, signaling to the body that the “activity” of cocaine is wayyyyy too good, and when it is not present, the body feels that much worse. twisting facts and spreading misinformation like this is very harmful, please consider actually doing research and look into things before trying to educate people :)

I am very disappointed that your nearly twelve and a half minutes long video fails to address Red Bull energy drink's most controversial claim - the one regarding wing growth. I would have thought that an obvious starting point. I have been avoiding this beverage for years due to my strong aversion to the avian form, the feathers especially. Given this, my tolerance for any potential wing growth whatsoever is very near zero. I was elated to finally find a reputable source with answers but alas, I fear I have misplaced my hopes once again.

Me having around 400mg of caffeine on a regular day and still feeling exhausted pointing at the people getting energy from a Red Bull: Haha, losers! Also me realising that in the end the only loser is me for needing too much caffeine just to be arguably awake: Takes a sip of the 6th cup of coffee for today.

If you look at how aspartame got approved and the shady dealings of Rumsfeld in both his role at Searle and on Ronald Reagan's cabinet you might take a closer look at it. Subject animals missing chunks of tissue, the justice department investigation lapsing and the attorney responsible going to work for the lawfirm of Searle's PR firm. I drank diet Coke for 30+ years. Had pustular psoriasis until I stopped drinking it. I have psoriatic arthritis with deformities. What studies did you reference that document the long term effects of aspartame? Any specific studies of long term heavy exposure concluding it is safe?

I love Red Bull - a quick burst of energy when you need it - so much better than plain old water. - and of course it mixes well with vodka. The problem is of course when you mix it with vodka, it gives you wings, but you're likely to crash into the wall after you drink it.

At 1:12 it is said that 80 mg of caffeine is “less than [in] your typical cup of coffee”. Yet, in the image the coffee cup is labeled as having “< 80 mg”, which implies that there is less caffeine content in the cup. Am I seeing this wrong?

I normally drink 5 energy drinks a day. I am highly active physically, i do brick laying and building. Without energy drinks i battle to keep up with my work. Two major side effects are the effect it has on my teeth, and my friends say i am getting fat. My cardiovascular health is fine. I usually drink 2 monsters, and three other brands. One flavor of switch brand (Turkish delight) gave me kidney pain. Otherwise i think energy drinks are fine. I don't drink alcohol or take other drugs. I sleep normally. I feel its necessary for high productivity in my job.

It is not recommended to consume more than one energy drink per day. Consuming 5 energy drinks per day is excessive and can lead to a number of negative health effects. Energy drinks contain high levels of caffeine and other stimulants, which can cause symptoms such as increased heart rate, high blood pressure, and insomnia, as well as more serious effects such as heart attack, stroke and even death in some cases. Additionally, consuming excessive amounts of sugar and artificial ingredients can lead to weight gain and other health problems. It's important to be mindful of the amount of energy drinks you consume and to always follow the recommended serving sizes on the packaging. It's better to consult with a healthcare professional or a dietitian if you have any concern regarding your caffeine intake.

Caffeine pills are a convenient and easy way to consume caffeine, The recommended daily dose of caffeine is 400mg, which is equivalent to about 4 cups of brewed coffee, depending on the strength of the coffee beans. Consuming more than this amount can cause symptoms such as increased heart rate, high blood pressure, and insomnia. Caffeine pills can also cause serious side effects such as seizures, heart attack or stroke if consumed in high doses.

Taurine is produced for companies like Red Bull and other energy drink manufacturers through a process called chemical synthesis. This process involves the use of various chemicals and raw materials to create taurine in a laboratory setting. Typically, the process begins with the use of a precursor chemical such as sulfonic acid, which is then combined with other chemicals and catalysts to create taurine. The process can be done through different routes, for example, the most common route is using sulfonic acid and ethylene oxide, and other routes use aziridine and cysteine. The resulting taurine is then purified, dried and packaged for use in energy drinks and other products. The taurine that is used in energy drinks is considered to be safe and is generally recognized as safe by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
