Many of us just recently saw Band-Maid play “From Now On” live. OMNG! Kanami riffed her ass off. And the BPM’s matched the DB's! 😶‍🌫Thx, Batty, Walsh & Jake! Keep the Maid train going! Over 120 awesome songs!!

Chaotic, but every note is precisely where they want it. Every moment is measured. Chaotic, but as one reactor said they even play the silence well. Chaotic to a level that the average band would only hope to achieve. Yes, beautiful chaos. The five professional musicians working together to perfect their songs to a point of greatness. Their fans love them to no end. they have about 120 songs. Try to find the bad one. Good luck.

It's this sort of song composition (mostly by Obi-Wan Kanami, the lead guitarist) and playing ability that got Tony Visconti to visit one of their recent dates on their USA tour and bring along his Zemaitis for Miku (rhythm guitarist and band founder/creator) to have a go on. She handed it to her guitar sensei, Kanami, who immediately gave it a thorough testing while Tony V filmed her on his phone. He then tweeted it with the statement that they were "one of the best Rock bands I've ever seen"). Same reason Jimmy Page went backstage to get a selfie with Akane, the drummer, who had impressed the hell out of him. It's also the reason why they are, in my 48 years of going to Rock and Metal gigs (Sabbath were first, in 75), the most impressive Rock band I've ever seen (sorry, Zeppelin, but 79 was a long time ago!). THE best Rock band in existence and, like so many all-female or female-led bands from Japan (Babymetal, Nemophila, Lovebites, Asterism, Aldious, Lonesome Blue to name a few) are making all the best Rock and Metal for the 21st century.

The state of Rock music in the US has been seriously lacking for at least 10 years. The bands that used to be good are ending it one album at a time. Band Maid has given me hope for the future of rock music.

Joel, this is a great concept. It is really interesting to hear from people who are the nuts and bolts of live show production. I am guessing that you broke this session up in to small segments because I could see that the original video was about 36 minutes long. This is very cool for those who follow the videos as you release them but might be a bit convoluted for those who stumble onto your channel later on as KZread will throw them up as suggestions in random order. I can understand why you have done this; you probably feel that 30+ minutes is too long for a video, but you will find that Band-Maid fans will watch the whole thing through in large numbers. You only have to look at how many viewers flock to reactors who take on Cryptic Misery's 43ish-minute video explaining the first 10 years of Babymetal. Babymetal fans watch good reactors covering it in droves. The same thing happens with Band-Maid. The fan base is so strong and rusted on they will gleefully watch any quality content regarding them. I have seen a couple of your "bring your buddies on" reactions and I have to say they are wonderful insights from experts in their fields. This is high quality, first source material that fans love. Be they fans of Band-Maid, Babymetal, RHCP, G'n'R or Iron Maiden. So, as long as it is interesting, fans will watch up to about an hour, without any complaints. Thanks for this video, I can't wait to see the next installment.

It's true. "Today we will do a brief analysis of this 3:45 Band-Maid instrumental ..." Thirty-five minutes later; "Well, this video is getting longer than intended, so we'll cover the bass and drums next time. Remember to like, subscribe, and hit that notification bell ..."

I hope that there will be even one more BAND-MAID fan. If they have the ability, I think it is possible to gather 30,000 people and explode in the dome. However, I have mixed feelings because it's nice to make a fuss with 3,000 people in a homely atmosphere.

Well done -- good video post concept, interesting people, top-flight band, great song. Batty has worked for some very interesting bands -- a very eclectic listing (no wonder you two are kindred spirits). Good taste shown by all involved. Although I grew up with Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath -- and have happily seen more than half the bands in Batty's list -- you can play Band Maid and Motorhead all day long, and I'll be just fine.

Until I discovered Japanese(2018) music I was classic hard rock guy. Going to a western rock concert could be a disappointment because it was not as good as the record. For the Japanese, concerts are even better that the recordings. Now the Japanese focus and practice more and they don't use drugs but I'm wondering how much new equipment plays a part. Maybe a little segment on the evolution of equipment for a concert would be a cool idea.
