There goes James May, an aging and lonely man. Everybody finds his quirkiness annoying, except one guy in Japan It was there that James found friendship at last, A little fella full of useless facts and empty eyes, To peas in a pod, in this world so cold and vast, James had finally found someone who's as annoying, yet charming as himself. A friendship so grand, as from heaven sent, But, after only one episode, Off, on their separate ways they went. It did take some time before it dawned on May, What a swell mate he had lost, As he left Kyoto that day, The thought made ol' Captain Slow feel ever so blue, Whenever he got reminded of that little fella, With so much love in his CPU. So, what was a man to do? He printed a t-shirt, to commemorate their time, And everytime James put it on, He quietly cursed the people from Amazon Prime, For leading him to such a friendship, before tearing it right apart. There stands James May, an aging and lonely man, Wishing he again could go back to Kyoto, Japan. So much have since changed, would he even recognize him? He stares out the window, with dead empty eyes, Longing to again hear those two words, "Hey, Bim".

Just a thought, but he mentioned ferns being part of the crazy meal... There is a sort of ferns that some people eat as vegetable or salad despite it being slightly toxic. (ferns in general are not a commonly edable plant) So my money would be on the ferns instead ot the mushrooms causing the strange feeling.

No. But you can eat fiddleheads, which are uncurled wild ferns - everybody does around where I live. As well as garlic ramps. This last term is not automotive. I'm not a foodie, it's just people like to wander around in Spring, and collect wild food. Not a mushrooms forager either.

I have recently grown up and discovered gin & tonic. I would be interested to know what James M. and/or Richard H. prefer when it comes to gin. FoodTribe gin special?

Uh-oh, I spoke too soon... I just discovered 50 minutes of drinking gin with Richard and James. Disregard my last comment.

This seems like it was recorded a decade ago, not 2 years. Impressed that James went ahead with all his plans to move house, buy, renovate and open a pub etc. during the pandemic. I guess being stubborn, and having an endless amount of investment funds will get you through the rough spots

IMO..I think the Rule of not allowing Alcohol is to stop/limit people moving around the UK taking City Breaks. I'm a taxi driver and I found after the 1st lockdown tourism was quite busy as people did not want to risk taking a Holiday aboard.
