Hi Terry! Yes, Christina found this one, and she had to push me to go see it. I am glad she did!
I was 20 years old in 1980, I was driving a 1979 I bought new and I had a 1968 F100 with the 240 straight six! My 1979 had a 302 automatic and I got married and started driving my 68 again to work while my wife was now driving my 79, F150! My oldest brother had a 1980 just like that one with the 300, 6 cylinder and he pulled a 16’ trailer hauling his tractor and implement! That 300 was a brute, plenty power!
Thanks for saving older Trucks and cars. We need to enjoy them before there gone.

This one looks to be an '80 or '81..the only 2 years of this body style that had F-O-R-D letters on the hood, and lacked the blue football in the center of the grill that Ford has felt like they must put in the center of the grill of everything for the last 40+ years. I much prefer the clean grill and the FORD letters. The fact it's an '80 or '81 is also probably why the paint is still reasonably good...pre-EPA paint years. By the mid-late 1980's, the EPA paint would peel like an onion in 3 or 4 years..sometimes not that long. I bet if this was an '86 or later truck, the paint would be peeled off...
My first vehicle when I was 17 was an 81 ford f-100 3 on the tree. This video brought back so may memories of my dad and I working on it. We bought it for 3500 in 1987 and I sold it for 2900 in 1997 2 years after my dad passed away. The 300 six was an amazing engine. Hard to believe that was 36 years ago. Thanks for the video.

And the AC works! Lol Yes Richard you understand the irony. That is a dealer installed indash system. Remarkable the shaft seal in the compressor did not dry out and leak. I expected the old straight-6 to run. But the air had me laughing. Did a rescue similar to this on a 1982 F-150 for a doctor that parked it years ago and wanted it back on the road. Same project, fuel tank, fuel system, carburetor, brakes and lines, new heater and radiator hoses, water pump, and a hell of a good cleaning. He's been driving it since I delivered it back to him two years ago. Thanks for the memory! Great trucks those old straight-6 Fords. Great rescue brother. Kudos to you and the misses.

Like your content, I don’t work on old vehicles due to physical problems. I have sold my pre 72 vehicles, could not work on them with my conditions. I would restore for personal use.
Christine, A while back, when you were working on the old 50’s Chevy Sedan, someone posted they were worried about you breaking a finger nail. I wouldn’t worry about the nail, but in one video, you were under the car draining the old oil for an oil change - I would worry about you getting your beautiful blond hair in the oil or your sweater in it.
Register, hope I wind it,that could help me,if I can't get something going soon,my driving a semi career is over,,I can also detail vehicles, have all equipment, did that for 5 years, very good at it

European here, I like those American cars and trucks. Too bad they were never imported in Europe, especially the pickup trucks. As far as the engine parts missing, if you or your mechanic has another, complete engine to install, or if you have the car and/or knowledge to convert it into electric, it's a parts vehicle, no mater how solid the body of the vehicle is. Price should be reflection of the condition and how rare or super common the model is. That's why in my country we often burst laughing when we see something super common as everyday Beetle being priced way over thousands of euros.
I just restored the mechanical side of a 1977 chevy c20 454 truck, ended up pulling engine to rebuild good I did crack on crank journal, 2k for that plus machine work, bought for 1600$ have about 5k totaklin truck fixing all mechanical issues.

Brake fittings, Heat, spray with lube, Heat, spray lube then attempt to undo. You heated it, but there was no lubrication between the fitting and the flared end of the pipe. A little heat, a lot of lube and patience usually saves you at the master, if the lines are bad underneath it is usually quicker just to make a new hardline

Hello Richard & Christina your description of satisfaction is right on the mark. The $700 you were above cost is a bonus not the objective.
