    Hey! great video, just a couple things I think is important to add: I have been travelling Aus for almost 9 months, and I have hired vans, used the Greyhound/ Premier Buses and they are by far a lot more expensive/ restrictive than buying your own car! Plus what is great about your own car is you can stop off at places that the buses won't, I regret not getting my car earlier really! I missed a lot of cool hikes and waterfall trails that where on the list when using the buses! I think it would be great for future travellers to know that getting a car is a great option! Regarding accommodation, I have had 3 jobs that have included accommodation, there are places out there that do have that option (that aren't farm work)! I did my 88 days In Airlie beach with free accommodation which a lot of travellers I met couldn't believe! I am now in Sydney with free accommodation too, I have saved so much money just by not paying accommodation for 6/9 months of being here! :) Just sharing my experience!

    Hey Abby & Luke, love that you guys had a good experience buying a car. We help hundreds of travellers every week who travel around Aus and buying a car is only suitable for those who are staying in the country for an extended period of time we've found. For someone staying for 6 months it does not make sense and is not an affordable option as second hand cars in Oz are incredibly expensive. For solo travellers too who can't split the cost it would eat into their savings too much. Time and time again we see travellers who then decide to leave the country and can't sell their car in time and have bought flights so they've left the country with an unsold car left behind in Oz which is not ideal. Free accom is always a great option if you're not sick of hostels and something that we educate our travellers about once they join us on tour. Great travel hacks by you guys and so glad to hear you've seen so much of Aus! 🙏 Thank you for sharing your experience.

    Could you elaborate how you got Work with accommodation included so often? Im going over with my girlfriend in Jan and we want to get the 88 days done and are honestly clueless where the best place in the country is to get farm work/approved work that pays accommodation?

    @@WelcometoTravel I’ve met multiple solo and couples who have had a great experience with buying a car. I’m not saying it’s always the right thing to do given people’s own personal circumstances with savings. It really depends how much travellers have saved for their trip and what they are wanting to see. Im basing this off my experience of getting a working holiday visa and using it to its advantage of having it for a year which a lot of people do given the price of the visa and how large australia is it, as you can get up to 3 visas I wouldn’t say majority of travellers come for 6 months, but I’m basing this off my experience with now being on a 2nd visa. I do think it’s important to highlight that a lot of people may want to take their time travelling around all the states considering how large australia is! Buying a car wasn’t on my radar at all until I spoke to others and they said it was such a huge money saver. We have actually just sold our car for more than what we paid for so we have gained $2,000. I do think being sensible with savings is a priority to see the country as a whole, sadly a lot of tours are way too expensive and you will pay a lot more to be taken there for a full day and rush everything whereas having a car and being in charge of your own time I do think is something to add in to your video. All I’m saying is I think the Information you have provided so far is great, but as someone who is travelling australia now I think just adding more information to be inclusive of other areas of travel and also including those who aren’t solo (couples/ friends) is something to consider 😊

    I love your videos, they are really helpful! I have a question about the visa. Within how much time do I need to come to Australia after receiving the visa so that it doesn’t expire?

  • @WelcometoTravel

    @WelcometoTravel

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey Helen, so glad you like them! Once the visa is approved you have a full 12 months to enter the country. Your visa is only activated once you enter the country. So as long as you plan on coming to Australia within a year, then you can apply for the visa at any point. Just make sure you don't enter after 12 months as it will no longer be valid and you would've wasted it.

  • @Shonnie6

    Hey Clauds and the WTT team! I was on a Covid impacted WHV in 2020, from the link you guys sent over it says that working requirements for 2nd & 3rd year visas will change soon, and Working Holiday makers will not be required to do farm work. Would you guys be able to do a video regarding this? It's all a little complicated and it's hard to get the correct info x)

  • @WelcometoTravel

    @WelcometoTravel

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey Shonnie, that would be in regards to the UK/Aus Free Trade Agreement that is hopefully being passed and will come into effect in a few months time. This would mean British passport holders on a WHV would not need to do the 88-days specified work to extend visas. How this affects people on the Covid impacted WHV however we're not entirely sure at this stage. We will definitely do a video about the FTA, we just want to make sure our facts are correct and do it properly as there is new information coming out everyday on this. Stay tuned!

    The 417 and 462 visas spoken about here are not available to Nigerians. You may instead be able to apply for a Visitor visa (subclass 600) and the Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) (subclass 601).
