I don't agree that a Gursikh person can sell tobacco products if his or her job requires it. I was offered a 1.5 lakh dollar job in Canada but it required me to be clean shaved. I rejected it. According to the speaker, I should have accepted the job with this condition of clean shaving because ਇਹ ਦਸਾਂ ਨਹੁੰ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ ਹੈ? This is not the correct meaning of ਦਸਾਂ ਨਹੂੰ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ। Let's not confuse the issue by saying this is not written or written in Guru Granth Sahib. Guru Granth Sahib is not a list of prescriptions.

Pindorie ji I have clarified that cutting hair as a job is unacceptable for a Sikh. Selling tobacco and alcohol in a store as an employee only if it is a question of survival for a new immigrant. But that also as a last resort. Cutting hair is totally unacceptable. I know many who cut the hair in Canada because it was a matter of survival in old days and when conditions changed they kept the hair. I also know who refused it as you did and survived. I know who own gas stations and ethnic super stores and don't sell alcohol and tobacco in the stores. I didn't prescribe anything but brought out the situation.
