It's interesting how the right to a fair and speedy trial can be twisted into something neither fair or speedy. Good for the two of you doing your best to inject truth and education into the legal system.

The right to a speedy trial generally only comes to bear when the defendant is incarcerated.

Last year I was an expert witness for a case involving one of my flight instructors who was involved in a 2019 accident where his student (aspiring banner tow pilot) froze up on the controls and caused them to crash his plane, and he was unable to overpower the student and take control of the plane before it splashed down in the Everglades. The only information I had to go on was hearsay from the instructor, his lawyers, and the lawyers from the banner company (which I had worked/flown for 12 years). Being an expert witness is extremely stressful because we have to bare the entire weight of the case without interjecting personal opinion.

As I listen to the two of you, I was wondering how either one of you would come up with a fee schedule for the different aspects of being an expert witness. Did you ask Massad? 😉 I can’t imagine that there are many in this field (but then I may be mistaken). Have you had to adjust your fee schedule because you didn’t realize what was all involved (and not just due to inflation)?

Thank you for your time and effort. I really appreciate your evaluation of defense encounter. I try to learn how to identify pre attack indicators. Just a question of curiosity. When you testify as an expert how much does TV forensic bull affect your testimony to clear up the difference between Hollywood and reality. Recently I saw a video that courts have stopped recognizing bullet ballistics to tie a certain gun to the killing bullet. The science couldn't show beyond a reasonable doubt that a specific gun fired a certain bullet accurately. I think that ruling came down from scotus. Just saying there's NCIS, CSI, law and order. They have all this forensic evidence and it's loosely based in reality. I just wondered if you have had any problems with it. Also is there any chance of seeing you testify in a trial or is that too sensitive to air.

I have an entire testimony of mine in a recent case in the ASP Unlimited app, so check there! :) Link in description. I am not an expert in forensics so I don't testify about those kinds of things. Where I am an expert (firearms, use of force, empty handed skills/martial arts, less lethal tool use) I generally don't fight Hollywood so much as just educate about what reality is.

@ASPextra Doesn't matter what he did or does. He was compliant. This was even acknowledged by the court. How far we have fallen if you still get shot or judged even if your compliant

It wasn't a great shooting, but it was lawful. Awful, but lawful.
