What does an exorcist do in his spare time? w/ Fr. Chad Ripperger | Chris Stefanick Show

Remember when we talked to Fr. Chad Ripperger? Those interviews blew up the internet! (The Catholic internet, at least.) Turns out, exorcists still fascinate people. But exorcists are real people too. What do they do for fun? How do they pray? And how do their parents react when they learn their son fights demons at his day job? Fr. Ripperger is back this week to answer all that - and more - including his favorite food, movie, and hobby!

Since Satan's greatest weapon is convincing people that he doesn't exist, I'd say a million people tuning in to know their enemy is pretty good.

He literally saved me from Hell. My brother and I were going through some rough times spiritually (and morally). My brother put on a clip of Fr. Ripperger speaking on spiritual protection. We were non practising Catholics but when I listened to his talk I was instantly hooked. My brother and I began to watch Sensus Fidelium channel on youtube and by the grace of God and after several years combating sin we are both on the path of righteousness and living as practising Catholics.

I'm a woman and would rather have steak than chocolate. :) I LOVE how Fr. Ripperger shares his knowledge about Mother Mary! I've always wanted to know so much more about her. I also wish I could know more about St. Joseph. Maybe Fr. Ripperger would ask Mary about St Joseph sometimes :) 28:38. I have learned that they can distract/control/confuse me easier through emotions, so if you feel compassion for them, they will string you along in a totally different path, to distract you from the right path.

I’ve written so much down. I can see in my own life that I’m not doing everything I need to be doing and even the little things like naps instead of cleaning the bathroom, are causing me huge problems and through God, Jesus, the Holy Ghost and Mary I can stop this. What I’m trying to say is the things I’m not getting done because of that little voice that tells me I’m tired, you can do it later, isn’t my voice and it’s making the little things add up and eats away at my self confidence and it’s starting to add up to bigger things. Getting overwhelmed and hiding from the problem… what I’m trying to say is, it’s not an endless circle, or it doesn’t have to be. Consistent prayer, fasting, never chose the lesser Good. Moderation in all things. Don’t let them burn your time… ohhh my stress levels are going to have to go away now. I now know what’s going on! God Bless you Father Ripperger and Chris! I know this sounds like a little thing to talk about but it’s turned into a mountain in my life. It does not have to be praise be to God!

If every priest was like Fr. Ripperger I would totally have converted to Catholicism by now. From all the different priests I've seen on KZread I don't think I've seen anyone able to explain the Catholic faith as well and convincingly as he does. Before I started watching his lectures I was basically agnostic leaning heavily towards atheism whereas now I'm not totally sure in terms of having "faith" but I'm more and more leaning towards it.

Thank you so much for these videos. This is the 4th one I've watched today. I never considered throughout this process for it to be a way for God to help me strengthen in sanctification. I've been dealing with an incubus for 5 years. I was led to believe by the demons (I believe there's more than one) that I wasn't saved and was going to hell. I was baptized in 2004, but backslid in 2018, and recommitted in 2019 after the death of my bf. I have felt torment both physically, mentally and spiritually due to these demons. You've given me areas to work on spiritually in discipline. Thank you so much, and God Bless you! ✝️

Thanks, Fr Luke. People are hungry for God but they don't know how to find him. There is such a prejudice against the Catholic Church they tend to switch off when the Faith is even mentioned. And it's not just young people. The older, middle- aged and even very old are often as bad. I agree about the importance of witness and it has to be one's whole life, not just words here and there. Chad, some Catholics scoff at this topic in disbelief, but I have seen the diabolical long before I was Christian (found Christ at 40) and it's very real, and easily seen especially in the substance addicted individual who is basically an open portal to evil in so many ways. ✝️ God bless.

I love how the Host says that people are viewing this or these interviews because ppl tend to want to tune in when it comes to the devil stuff but HE HIMSELF is an admirer of Father and so that intrigue about Who he is, is what has him attentive ...... In other words the rest of us are just interested in the devil but he is interested in Fr Ripperger ! LOL Thats a lot of Posh!

Excellent show, Chris. Your simple friendly manner and thoughtful questions bring out the best in guests. One thing: please can you get help with your DICTION. Forgive me, but you often slur words together, let your voice tail off, etc, and it gets hard to make out what you’re saying. For example I had to listen many times, slow the speed to .75x and even .5x,, and do a Google search before I understood your words about John MichaelTalbot and his “[Come to] the Quiet”-I could only catch “John” and “the Quiet”, and added “singing Scripture” for the search. Bingo! Worth the effort and I’ll definitely check him out. Thanks once again for this fascinating interview.

I totally agree with Fr. Ripperger on 'favorite religious movie' being The Song of Bernadette (1943) as that would be my choice to as not much else really challenges that one if you ask me. in fact, in terms of religious movies, only that and The Passion of the Christ (2004) are good enough to be among my favorite movies in general (there is some others I mildly like though, just not enjoyable enough to be among my favorites). there are currently 145 movies, maybe 216 movies (which is basically the top 6-9% of everything I have seen), that are enjoyable enough for me to call a favorite movie or thereabouts. basically I have seen 2,350+ total movies (counting re-watches it's well beyond that figure) as only that amount (listed above) stands out. or another way to put things into perspective... movies are ultimately broke into two categories, ones ill re-watch (Thumbs Up) and ones I won't (Thumbs Down). in this regard, about 80% of everything I have seen is a Thumbs Down, which means only about 20% (tops) is worth re-watching, but like I already said, only about 6-9% of everything I have seen stands out to be among my favorites or thereabouts. but when Fr. Ripperger mentioned his favorite non-religious movie is probably 'The Lord of The Rings' trilogy, to be honest, I never really cared for that as it's pretty middle-of-the-road/average/forgettable if you ask me. but I never really got into that type of movie. but out of those 145 movies I consider to be favorites, while it's too difficult to name only one as my favorite, my single favorite movie would be one of the following six movies (listing from newest to oldest)... Gran Torino (2008)/Lord of War (2005)/Road to Perdition (2002)/Braveheart (1995)/Once Upon a Time in the West (1968)/The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966). but to list the rest of my upper echelon ill add in another twelve movies (in no order, but from newest to oldest)... Top Gun: Maverick (2022)/Ford v Ferrari (2019)/Skyfall (2012)/The American (2010)/True Grit (2010)/Angel-A (2005)/Open Range (2003)/Blow (2001)/The Green Mile (1999)/Meet Joe Black (1998)/Scarface (1983)/The Hustler (1961). so that's basically my Top 18 movies out of the general 145 movies I consider to be among my favorites. but depending on how high ones moral standards are (like with nudity/violence/language), some of those movies I mentioned would be best avoided if you want something in the ball park of the family friendly type even though some of those are pretty safe in that regard. but since us more religious people tend to judge stuff as watchable or not more by nudity than violence/language, in this regard the biggest offender of what I listed would be The American (2010). but this movie I don't think will have wide appeal anyways as to me it's ultimately carried by the atmosphere and the lead character. basically about 4-5 movies out of the 18 I listed have some nudity in them but I would say pretty much all besides The American is more 'typical' nudity variations as it's not as dragged out and is a bit more brief. anyways, I got to agree with Fr. Ripperger about steak being a pretty safe bet as far as food goes as that would probably be my #1 to. for books, I got to admit I never been much of a book fan (I read a little but nothing that really stands out for me). but just in terms of general entertainment I tend to rank like this overall... '1)Movies 2)Music' for the more major common entertainment categories (I would put some video games in there to that can hold up well against higher quality movies but it's very limited... Mafia (2002) (on PC) etc). while some music can be great, I would say collectively I like movies more than music overall even though some music can be great there tends to be much less of it ill actively go out of my way to listen to than there are movies. still, I would not want to go without either movies or music for general entertainment. but Fr. Ripperger basically said for music, outside of chant (I am assuming he means Gregorian Chant since you hear him mention this here and there), he prefers Classical. I would say Classical can be great at times (Renee Fleming is my #1 for female singers and Pavarotti for male) as I have always been of the mindset that Classical music is the closest to Heaven where as Death Metal is the closest to hell given the negativity of the overall sound as there is not much music I can't stand but death metal is one of them where they just scream/growl and go off on instruments, it just seems very disordered. but even that aside, some other music I have more of a neutral-to-negative opinion of though etc.
