I dreamed that I was walking with some friends and talking, laughing and having fun in the sunshine and warm weather. They were walking forward, and I was walking backwards while facing them. As I took a few steps backward I stepped off a cliff into the abyss. I could hear them screaming No! but it was too late. I was engulfed in total darkness. I was falling down, down, down...I was on my back and knew that I just needed to surrender because there was nothing I could do and no way out. I outstretched my arms as if I were floating in water and just let go. Then all of a sudden, I landed on a part of the cliff that was sticking out. It was shaped like a cupped hand, and it caught me. It was soft and I lay there wondering what to do next because there was no way that I could do anything to get back up. Total darkness. Total silence. I knew that below me was and infinite nothingness. But I just lay there in the dark, in the hand-shaped precipice. I was no longer afraid. Then in an instant I was back with my friends in the sunlight. Spared. Alive.
