I can attest to this ... if it has power the Battalion commander thinks that you will fix it. Sig-O for the 1-66 Armor Ft. Hood Tx. Ironknight 23 Then 16th signal ...
If you want to your IT certifications such as SEC+, CompTIA A+ or NET+. Signal is the branch you want

You want CISM, CISSP, CRISC, or CISA now. Ex signal officer who transitioned to cyber. The certs you listed will get you started.
Yikes during Viet Nam era was MOS 36K40---Field Wireman...doesnt exist anymore..we'd run wire, climb telephone poles, work radios, carry radios, deal with encrypted equipment, teletypes, attached to Mechanized Infantry Unit. Wow have things changed.
Looks like a cool line of work to be in if one chooses to be in the army
Believe me, there job sounds alot moreinteresting than it actually is.

You plan your location settings and use tactical covering , also using your brain and stay alert.....
That is literally what happens.
An Army Signal officer basically does nothing, because my daughter, the Signal NCO does it all.
