Being a CEO is uncomfortable and sometimes you might want some help, to bounce ideas off of someone on your team but who isn't paid to agree with you... for that click here: adventuretoprofit.com

2:03 The way you’re going to be judged as a good CEO, a good business owner, a good entrepreneur = do you have profit? At the end of the day, a CEO needs to have profit to run and expand the company. 3:05 To make that profit, the CEO is responsible for strategy and action in 4 key areas: marketing, sales, delivery, and management. 6:20 Accounting and profit/loss statement, legal documents, make sure your retail merchant’s license is in place and current. You’re responsible for all the technicalities to make this business function so you can file your taxes, and comply with any local licensing, or state regulations. 6:50 CEO must be very active in promoting the company. Going to networking meetings, making videos, getting your picture out there, your face at the chamber of commerce meetings. *You have to be passionate about your product or service, and you have to be the one that’s going to promote it.* If you’re not that kind of person, then hire someone to be that person - if you’re not going to do it yourself, it’s still your responsibility for your PR and your image, and really making your company better well known and well thought of. You are the CEO - that’s what you do.

Thank you, as a CEO... It takes your entire life and no one should be jealous of the money we make because it cannot compare to the commitment in securing your team bread on their table daily. God bless all CEOs

4:00 Work ON the business vs. IN the business = CEO sits above all the other executives (director/VP of: marketing, sales, delivery, administration) telling them what to do and running them on their strategies and action plans. The CEO CREATES strategy and action plans, and replaces themselves on marketing, sales, delivery and management.

Apparently whatever they do it’s worth 10 million times the average employee for some reason and they can never cut their personal wealth to increase profits they would rather destroy employees lives that make 30k a year

I have to say, as a CEO, who does make the most in the company, but who also pays employees very well, very competitively, with the best benefits possible, my job is to make sure my people have a job. That is a huge constant life-sucking responsibility that I take more seriously than my own success. Holding such a complex machine together and making it run is no joke. I don't have a 9 to 5. I have an everyday, all day, eat, drink, and bleed my company. In fact, if you took my salary and divided it by the number of hours I actually work, I probably make less hourly than my employees. That being said, I believe I'm an exception to the rule. Ridiculously paid leadership does exist. Capitalism at its worst exists everywhere. But, holy moly, CEOs work their butts off and carry heavy responsibility with heavy consequences.

Yeah, but a C.E.O. still will screw his employees before he cuts his own bonus or salary. What the comment was implying. Big companies, especially.

None of this seems to be essentially chalked up to one person, a person who is a marketing professional, business analyst, front line managers, legal team and PR department for a big company essentially wouldn’t require a CEO then right?

For whoever is curious, a 5% compound interest on $100 per month for 20 years does get you $12,173,957.37. However, that would be for a monthly interest which 5% is extremely high and that amount does not account for inflation. Edit: Accounting for inflation this amount would be worth $4,424,016.23 but again that kind of interest would be a bit optimistic.
