It's almost comical how many people say they want to work in investment banking, but have no idea what you actually do on the job. In this video, we'll talk about the two main work streams in investment banking, which are pitching clients and advising clients. We'll walk through a couple of investment banking deliverables as well.

1:45 - 1. Pitching Clients and Winning Business
5:03 - 2. Advising Clients on Corporate Finance Transactions

Did you ever make a video on why you went from PE (summer analyst) to IB for FT? Were you ever asked why you wanted to make this move when you were recruiting for FT opportunities? Thanks for all of your videos. The spam in the comments section is crazy.

Matt this is great stuff! Diving deeper and deeper into the roles of each member of an IB team and the type of work you do. This answers a lot of questions. Unfortunately, this raises some more questions. Most the advising part of the business model here seems to overlap with the Corporate Finance and Strategy practices at MBB and the advising practices at Big 4 accounting firms. Obviously the IB's are needed to help with raising capital (IPO, debt, etc), but the advising piece of the business seems like a lot of competition between banks, consulting, and accounting. I guess I know where the rivalry (real or imaginary) between consulting and IB comes from!! Cheers

The first step to successful investing is figuring out your goals and risk tolerance - either on your own or with the help of a Financial Advisor. If you can get the facts about savings and investing with a well detailed plan, you should be able to gain financial security over the years and enjoy the benefits of managing your income.

Hi there, Recently watched some of your videos which are super helpful. My question are: 1.Which BBA is better to get into IB ; FINANCE or CS?Does CS tends to get easily hired comparatively? 2.Will it be helpful if I take BBA in computer engineering and Master in Finance in any way? 3.I want to be in IB but related to real estate , any advice on that? 4.Which divisions get you a lot of experiences related to finance? Which are the hardest and easiest divisions to work on? Please note that I am from target Uni but want to quench my thirst about hype of CS.
