² kapsalon = literally: hairdressing salon - fast-food dish made from a layer of chips, topped with kebab, covered with cheese and a layer of iceberg lettuce on top

Je bent heel hartelijk welkom bij ons in. Amsterdam! Neem tram 7 naar Slotermeer. Vlakbij het eindpunt is de Sloterplas met een klein strand. Je kunt daar picknicken en verderop óók. Grappig om te zien dat de oudere generatie toch meer vasthoudt aan de standaard nederlandse keuken, met ovenschotels, aardappels, vleesje, groentetje. Terwijl de jongeren toch meer divers eten uit meerdere keukens.

Avondeten is zo veel veranderd tijdens de jaren. Mijn ouders dachten dat vlees met aardappel iedere dag ‘normaal’ was. In tegenstelling ben ik nu veel pasta gerechten zoals arabiatta eten. Niet zo veel vlees. Maar ik denk dat veel mensen dit soort dieet nu volgen. Dankjewel voor de video.

Ons eet ook saans tussen sesuur en sewe uur. Ons eet ook veel hoender geregte. Ons opregte Suid Afrikaners hou vreeslik veel vsn braaivleis. Ons maak vuur buite met hout en braai vleis soos wors en skasp tjope op die kole. Daarmee sasm eet ons mieliemeel pap en slaaie

Drie van de vier weken komt mijn zoon pas om 22:00 uit zijn werk, dan eten we met z'n allen om 22:00. En die andere week 's avonds rond 20:00. Aardappelen hooguit één keer in de week. Als friet, of in een stamppot. Ik kan dat dan niet eten, ik word erg ziek van aardappelen, en eet dan chow mein. 6 Dagen in de week dus internationaal: indonesisch, chinees (verschillende regio's), koreaans, indiaas, italiaans, grieks, turks, afrikaans, zuid-amerikaans. Gisteren? Kibbeling met een salade. Vandaag? Kaasfondue. Vaak ook een warme lunch, en nasi, soep of gimbap voor ontbijt. We eten ook bijna nooit brood.
Er waren veel woorden in deze aflevering die ik zelfs niet in het Engels herkende! Vanavond at ik een kip parmo (een bijzonder maaltijd uit Teesside) :) Dankjewel jongens!

@@esmeentie ja, easy dutch is zo'n nuttige bron om nederlands te leren! en ook veel andere oefening methoden, bv luister ik naar de universiteit van nederland podcast, en ik heb ook een nederlandse taal docent die ik door italki heb gevonden :)

Onse Afrikaanse mense in Suid Afrika eet ook vleis en groente soos patats en aartappels. Ons hou van sop en brood. Slaaie soos mengel slaai waarin blaarslaai tamaties uie, komkommer, feta kaas en olywr olywr

How civilised to learn that many Dutch have their dinner between 18:00 and 19:00! If I had my dinner this early I would be starving again by the time I went to bed. So...do the Dutch have any snacks late in the evening, say at 21:00 or 22:00 or not? Because if they manage to go through the whole evening without another bite I then envy them and their stomachs.

Hello Jessica, I'm from Holland, what do you want to ask to Dutch people about Indonesia? In Holland we eat a lot of Indonesian food, like Nasi Goreng (with krupuk), Sate Ayam, Babi Panggang, Rendang and many more. Many Dutch people still have a connection with Indonesia, and in general we see Indonesia as a beautiful country with very friendly people! 🙏

ik eet meestal niet voor 19u. Ik moet sowieso werken tot 18u.
In Nederland eten we eigenlijk ook vaak amerikaans. Subway,Mcdonalds,Burger King en Five Guys dat is allemaal amerikaans.
I am practicing Nederlands these days. And guess what? KZread recommends dutch videos to me. No data privacy at all.

Dat klopt! En óók dat ouderen AVG eten. Ik ken veel ouderen die daar al lang op uitgekeken zijn.
Doe vlees en kaas in een sandwich. Mijn vrienden zeggen dat het het een of het ander moet zijn.

I like NL because they don't pay too much importance to food.
Gebakken aardappels zijn niet gefrituurd wat wel in de ondertiteling staat.

Hoewel ik het lang niet altijd eens ben met hun Engelse ondertiteling, denk ik dat fried hier toch wel klopt. Dat betekent namelijk niet alleen gefrituurd, maar ook gebakken. Een baked potato is echt helemaal wat anders.

It's a French bread that is sold undercooked so it has to be put in the oven for a while in order to render it edible

@@bellami86 Yeah, borscht is pretty horrible, I don't like it either. Most Dutch recipes for borscht call for the use of goat cheese, I guess the Russian version has smetana but no goat cheese? Not sure. I'm not serving any food that has beets in it anyway

nah, snert (pea soup cooked overnight with a ton of sausage and bacon to thicken into something that tests the borders of what is soup, and what is stew dutch pea soup is a speciality

Interesting, nobody eats the German style dinner. Just a slice of bread and cheese (sorry, not the delicious cheese I envy you for) or sliced ham (Wurst) en natueerlijk een biertje.

I don't know what they have for dinner, I know some don't like to share food. I spent two days sharing a flat with a nice Dutch couple in the summer. The first day I had the idea we should meet in the common kitchen for dinner. Rather worried and uneasy, the Dutch girl said.. "you know we don't share our food, we'll only cook for us". Oh really, thank you, I was not going to steal your precious food, I was just suggesting for some company. In my country Greece which is poorer than yours, this is uncalled for and we treat even people we don't know with more respect and share food always. We grew up thinking that Europeans are more civilized but I didn't see any greatness growing up... I have more examples, too. And yes, we all ate each one's own food. So, eat what you want, please don't share lest you lose a penny or something, I am happy I grew up with values and less money.

What pisses me off though is that we grew up thinking that northern Europeans were top quality compared to us, poor Greeks and I've seen hospitality and better manners by people from other countries we tended to look down on. Now I hope I'll change my mind.. it is not fair but it is my opinion so far. Greeks are not perfect, either but share food.

Door die ene ervaring denk je dat ALLE Nederlanders niet delen? Ik heb compleet andere ervaringen. Ik word overal uitgenodigd te blijven eten als ik mijn werk (bij mensen thuis) heb afgerond en de file in moet om thuis te komen o.a. Ook tijdens kampeervakanties schuiven we gezellig bij elkaar aan en deel ik mijn porties met anderen, want kook altijd teveel.

I think older Dutch are really joyless when it comes to food, they tend to cling to this austere, boring diet that mostly consists of bread sandwiches, cooked vegetables and mashed potatoes. Younger Dutch tend to be more adventurous and more health conscious. I think the core problem is the fact that enjoying food and sticking to a healthy, varied diet aren't really part of the culture, it's up to the individual to 'escape' the tedium that is Dutch cuisine
