There is more than enough room for most adults in the rear seats. It's ridiculous to say it's basically for kids. I'm 5'-11" and my head doesn't touch the headliner.

After owning a 2nd gen Prius for 19 years, I picked up a 2023 Prius Prime a few weeks ago. It's a great car. I really like the additional power, but my favorite parts are the looks, the technology, and driving around in EV mode. Very easy to Plug-in to a regular electrical outlet in my garage to charge it. The other advantage of the Prius over many other cars is the build quality since they are all made in Japan.

Interesting to hear the reactions of a Prius owner, especially one who would buy another Prius without having yet tried this new one. I will say, as an “enthusiast”, while it’s illuminating, I am not convinced. Still saving my pennies to buy my next family car, which hopefully will be something like an Integra Types S or maybe a CT4 Blackwing.

You know how I feel about both the CT4 and Integra Type S. Great cars! But, I must say, the Prius is totally reasonable. If fuel economy is a priority, it's a great choice.

We Prius owners ( gen IV here) never bought the car for its looks but its function, economy and reliability. I rather like the look of my Gen IV. So Toyota is obviously reaching out to buyers who are more into appearances. They obviously did allot more as the car is fantastic. Me, if I can fit as many surfboards and stuff into the new one, it'll be on my radar. I will just have to adjust to having a good looking car. Nice review.

Thank you. Yeah, looks are subjective. And this new shape makes it slightly less convenient to pile in stuff. Still spacious though. Keep it on your radar, I'd say.

As an owner of Prius 3rd gen. I would like to say my thoughts about it. First of all I like the space inside the 3rd gen. We can fold back seats and easily sleep inside, 2 adults + 1 kid. The roof is not high but it's just enough to move and sit inside. In the 5th gen it probably be less convenient. The other disadvantage would probably be lower sit position in 5th gen. If you sit lower and have a big dash screen in front of you, you can see less in front of the car. This could affect parking in tight spots, driving on a bad country roads, etc. Larger rim size -> less efficient driving, higher cost of rims and tires, worse suspension on bad roads. The 3rd gen has originally 15" wheels. They are cheap and have a lot of space to dump road bumps. You can even hear road bumps noise in this video. Read door handles - they placed them higher. Will your kids be able to open them? Center console at 8:12 have buttons between front seats. When we eat inside the Prius we usually place food containers there. Not a big minus, just a thought. Higher engine's horse power. Not always a good thing because in some countries you pay more tax with higher H.P. Prius is for economy, right? But I live in mountainous country so I feel a lack of power when going uphill. But if you live in a flat area the 3rd gen has enough power. My old Prius does 67mpg on a flat roads. So in terms of efficiency there is no huge gap in the 5th gen. I don't find the look of 5th gen Prius outstanding. The Prius I really worship is the 4th gen. Japanese Prime which is called Prius PHV. The curved rear window, fantastic rear lights, unkind front view. And the special feature - solar panel which can charge HV battery. It already was in Japanese version years ago!

Thank you for the review especially for showing me the "custom drive mode" as I didn't know what that was about.

We're on our third Prius now; a third Gen. a Model C, and now, a fifth Gen. I always thought the third generation had a great look (along with quite good period tech.), either you get the style or you don't. Our first one ran flawlessly and gave very good milage. The C was a real econo. box with no redeeming stylistic touches. But, and I don't think many people noticed it was a close copy of its bigger brother. The new Prius has outstanding styling. It also has fantastic milage. We get 80Km on a charge and over 60Mpg in hybrid mode. Had Toyota not changed the design from the Gen 3 (or 4), we'd still have happily bought one.

This video was perfect for me. I had a 2011 Prius and it was in black too. I sold it over the summer (still in great running conditions), and I put money down on the 2024 Prius Prime. I have been waiting for months but it should arrive at the end of March. I am definitely looking forward to an upgrade. Thank you for this.

For the 2023 (or 2024) Prius does anyone know what is the MPG in "Sport" mode?

My 2019 prime has a carbon fiber hatchback. A curved glass. Heated seats. I can schedule my charging. I get better gas mileage than the new one. I have more interior space for human beings. And I have blue magnetism.

COOL LOOKING CAR 👌 I DON'T THINK MOST PEOPLE KNOW THAT IF YOU HAVE A CAR WITH ALL WHEEL DRIVE.. THAT WHEN ONE TIRE GOES BAD, YOU HAVE TO REPLACE ALL FOUR TIRES..

Regardless of driven wheels, it's good to keep your tires in relatively similar and good condition. Front wheel, rear wheel, or all wheel drive, it's just as important.

@@viewsonvehicles EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT! THAT DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH HAVING TO REPLACE ALL FOUR TIRES ON AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE.. WHICH IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT AND MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW!
