I lived in Poland it was the best time of my life. I would go back in a second. I love the people culture and cleanliness of the country. Thank you for showing the world about this wonderful country.
Yum 😋 I am from Detroit, Michigan area too where we have a deep appreciation and love for Polish food...we have a city within the city of Detroit called Hamtramck where Polish immigrants settled and re-established their cultural heritage building beautiful churches and homes, restaurants and community events like a yearly strawberry festival complete with strawberry pierogi ! Pope John Paul even visited in September 1987...Love your channel !
Ha, my dad was a asparagus maniac. My father’s parents came from Poland to America and had 8 sons. We ate duck 🦆 soup with the blood in it. We ate pigs feet jello. I could go on and on. I love watching this channel it makes me smile and remember all the good times cooking Polish food with my parents, though my mother was half Hungarian, half Polish. My dad loved cream of ..asparagus soup which he taught me how to make. This is a great channel

Patricia, it's funny you should mention pig's feet. My father's parents were from Poland. Most of the people who lived in the area where I grew up had some Polish ancestry and Polish food was a large part of daily life back there. I grew up eating kielbasa, pierogies and pigs in the blanket (or golabki). My father used to go to this bar where there was a large jar of pig's knuckles on the bar. My father ate them all the time.
I love these reviews my ancestry goes from southern Poland i would love to visit
I am Polish myself. All the dishes growing up my family fixed, I found out they are Polish. I am second generation Polish, my Dads parents from Poland. I am 3 rd generation from Poland, my Moms family also from Poland. I am proud of my family. I love your videos. I am from Michigan. Bay City and Saginaw, Flint and Detroit area.

Hi Helen, my Moms Polish family (Great grandparents) originally settled in Bay City too- then in the 1920’s moved to Detroit (Indian Village). I again reside in the area. Love the content here too. I learned to cook at the side of my Great Grandmother.

When we had our farm ,Alberta, Canada I grew lots of asparagus. When in season we would have it for lunch and supper. Love it 😍😍😍😍
Enjoyed very much! Keep the restaurant videos coming!
Enjoy guys 💪😎🇵🇱🇺🇲
I have fallen in love with Sczecin thanks to both of you for showing it off. I am Strongly considering moving there from Ireland when I get my all my questions answered.
This video was making my mouth water too! A few years ago, I had my first taste of Zurek in Warsaw. I was hooked. The first bite you're not sure of what to think of it...then you realize that there's this little party going on with your taste buds....and by the end, you need to lick the bowl. Now I need to learn how to make it.

Those asparagus look really good and I love asparagus! 😋
o my goodness......awesome!!!! as a kid in Milwaukee, (late 50s early 60s) we had a certain area along an abandoned interurban track, full of wild asparagus, (eating on the run) find the young little stalks all around the tall bushy older plants. that area is now under a freeway...gone...

Niezmiernie nam miło, ze mogliśmy Państwa ugościć. Serdecznie zapraszamy 😊
Regarding smelly pee from asparagus is a genetic trait. Not everyone has that trait. I do and it is strong and my ex wife had no idea what i was talking about. Glad to see you are back. Haven’t seen you here on You Tube
I love asparagus, too! I may have to try pierogis with smoked salmon!
Very nice video, enjoyed so much. Thanks🤗🌹😊
Omg that sounds so good pierogi with the Bacula and fish and potatoes and onions. Love you guys.
Same here in southern Illinois. We grow our own and really is a joyous time when the asparagus shows up.
You guys make interesting and easy to follow videos for visiting your homeland. Thanks for sharing. Someday hope to visit and hit some of the featured spots you showed.
Boy that food sure looked yummy. 😋
Awesome
I am Polish by birth and since he likes to try new things, here are a few things that he may want to try that appeal to my & my family's Polish palette: - (from New Orleans) shrimp sauted in a lot of butter (touch of oil so it doesn't burn), white wine, lots of fresh ground pepper (then covered in very low heat to absorb) served with either a baguette for dipping in the sauce with a side dish of fresh salad or on home-made noodles (Anna's are wonderful) or Basmati rice. These shrimp can also be baked in layers of butter/white wine/pepper -- shrimp - b/w/p - shrimp etc for 4-5 rows, covered in a Dutch oven for about an hour. It's important that the butter and shrimp combine flavors. (from Montreal because I have a garden full of asparagus and 2 big pear trees) For asparagus, it is delicious sauted in butter/touch of oil with cashew nuts. Ripe pear slices are wonderful sauted in butter/touch of oil, pepper corns and walnuts. Wish I could visit his restaurant.. he is inspired!
Good, healthy, home cooked food.
My mother used to say to me 'Leczimy do Szczecin bo na Radom jusz jadom' lol
We are just finished harvesting our asparagus you gave me so many new ideas we are farmers and always time strapped I make asparagus and onions and garlic then pour eggs and cheese over when cheese is melted YUM waiting patiently for cookbook
I'm in Hull United Kingdom my best friend is polish her food is amazing
I love asparagus, especially when I can get it at the Farmers' Market here in Skokie, IL. It is so fresh and delicious, picked just hours before. I love it roasted, in a soup, steamed and especially in a quiche with Gruyere cheese. Love these travelogues, enjoy seeing your town and the wonderful restaurants there.
Do you have a baking book for polish pasteries/ desserts?
I like your videos and I love your cookbook. In the videos you always show the city. How about something out in the smaller towns. I live in Charlton Massachuetts, about 60 miles east of Boston, and would like to see the equivilent there.

I am German and I LOVE Polish food!!! But I ve noticed that there are some few poles that seem to be quite hostile towards Germansy However I ve never been to Poland but only have met Poles in England and Germany. Do you guys maybe have an idea whether in general Germans still have a „bad“ reputation in Poland?
@markhurning8051
2 жыл бұрын
I would say in my opinion only, that most Poles don’t have any opinion of Germans, but only opinions of individuals. There of course are those who can’t move past the events of WW2, but I don’t think most Poles hold any bad feelings towards modern Germany.

Try Germanys role in 2 world wars last century and the fact that Germans are quite arrogant, cold and have a fixation about wanting to conquer the world and you may get an idea why this is the case.

@@markhurning8051 Thank you very much for your answer; to be honest I am quite shocked about what others have posted now about this topic but I m glad that you and probably most Poles still judge people as individuals;) I understand that many Germans behave arrogant when in other countries indeed, but it is really not a nice feeling almost being thrown out of a supermarket only because you are German even if you are nice and polite 😅

@@danielmeyer8517 "almost being thrown out of a supermarket" ? :-0 oh my, must be especially bad luck. I think times of general hatred toward Germans are over. Next generation of Poles are quite open ppl, of course you can always have bad luck of meeting the wrong people, but it's also true for Poles visiting Germany, when interacting with older Germans. I'm living in California for 30 yrs now, from across the globe I can see Poles and Germans have a lot in common. Much more than some ethnic groups living in US.
@danielmeyer8517

@@mirka I totally agree with all that you said! And unfortunately it is true that there are also many Germans who kind of think of Poles of being criminals in many cases etc. But lets hope that these prejudgements end with our young generattions. I also think we have much more in common than what distinguishes us. But yeah I didnt exaggerate, I was in the supermarket, the owner (he slready was slightly older) asked me where I am from and when answering Germany, he looked at me in such a despising way that I installed knew he wanted me to leave his shop instantly.
