    9:18 Two problems in the juxtaposition. 1) When the pagan saw a god, he saw two things. a) a mover that was not glued along the zodial to a moving heaven-vault, but went full circle around the zodiac, independently of whatever moved those stars; b) a being that had its origin in other things than the creative act of God on day IV. Only the latter of these is false. 2) When we "see it for what it is" you mean both a) a creature (what you referred to directly so far), and b) many Christians today would rashly add, an inanimate one moved by only inanimate forces. Only the former is true.
