For what it's worth, I was trying to figure out a way to buy that pool table at the auction. We had a small house and nowhere to put it. I kept trying to figure out how to explain to Amy that we needed a pool table in the kitchen. I was also diluted enough to think no one else would want it and I'd buy it for a hundred bucks. Reality set in when the bidding started and I realized I was standing in a room full of people who wanted Tom T. Hall's pool table. I'm very happy that Shawn bought it and I'm glad that I didn't have to explain to Amy why there was a pool table in our kitchen.

Yes! They are also some of the most talented people. They are linked to the greats in the music world because the greats see their talent. Otis is right there with them. I’ve been listening to a lot of Otis’ albums lately, and the guy is an incredible songwriter and singer. I’m so glad he shares his world with us.

Not sure what my favorite Tom T Hall song is, but Roger Miller calling Tom for songs and saying "my clown died" is one of my favorite stories. Also Shawn Camp is my hero and I am tickled to death that he has Tom's pool table. Thanks a bunch for the great content Otis.

Yes the best content. Adds a whole additional dimension to these musicians we admire. It really gives me a piece of who they are for real. The Roger Miller call is outstanding! You can for certain hear him saying "my clown died" to Tom T...Such a phrase I've never heard, but it feels so right in that context and between them> thanks!

Favorite Tom T. Hall Song. “Salute To A Switchblade.” It was just another influence on what I would become. I love pocketknives and a whole lot more. I still remember weekends growing up and when there was no movies on regular TV worth watching, my Dad had this Zenith Stereo with a Garrard Turntable. There would be a fat stack of vinyl loaded up. My Dad personified, “I Like Beer.” And it is true that Vodka puts my mouth in gear. I was saddened to hear of Hall’s death a few days before my last birthday. I just saw a couple days ago that he decided not to go crying into the darkness like Clayton Delaney. What a talented person. May he have whatever afterlife he wanted. ☕️🐇

I love hearing your guests, I could listen to Mike Bub or Shawn Camp all day and never get tired. Of course I listened to Tom T. Hall as long as he was putting out records and they were great, I didn't know who Shawn Camp was until I stumbled on to him on KZread, another one of those amazing singer/songwriters who should have been pushed by some record label but wasn't. Keep putting stuff like this up, I will keep on listening and sharing it to Facebook. There was only one Tom T. Hall, like Roger Miller, Guy Clark and Shawn Camp the reason they are great is because they are themselves, the reason so many like Shawn Camp aren't household names has more to do with record companies than talent.

Another real nice segment with great stories and more love for the good things and people in music. I have to ask, is that "Cowboy Arms Hotel" sign from/or in Jack Clement's home studio? I have a life story of meeting Cowboy Jack and accepting his invitation to come to Nashville from PA to hang out. This was in 1981 and I was about as naive as I could get. Jack let me use his studio for some demo recording and Jack's son Niles was the engineer. I still have the tapes (I guess there was nothing interesting enough in my music that they wanted to keep the tapes) and the memories. Thanks again for your great videos. Be well.
