David Sinclair's enthusiasm and perhaps exaggeration... has helped facilitate more money to be invested in Longevity Science than any other modern scientist.... and he has redefined aging as a disease, something that can be cured. For this he should be applauded. I think other Longevity Scientists are envious of his success. Go David Sinclair! Can't wait to read your next book.

Sinclair is snake oil salesman of 21 century.. bombarding unsuspecting audience with cool sounding words like epigenetics, reprogramming, biohacking, he is peddling endless stream of bs, which never produced any meaningful result for maximum human life extension. He has stolen and diverted more money from good projects than anyone, yeh.. Defrauded GSK to the tune of $720m by selling them his 'proprietory' compounds like resveratrol, then GSK spend much more millions to replicate results and > zilch, nothing. It's not envy, it's sadness and indignation that such quack is allowed to operate openly and deceive people with his quackery, hiding behind prestigious name like Harvard.

Guys see if you aren’t judging Mr Sinclair from the bias of your training and opinions coming from the narrative of your training, , I think is better to be a bit more open minded to different ways of approaching solutions, , my opinion is that Mr Sinclair looks into anything that may lead to longevity with an open mind, that being his sole interest not being bogged down much by the other incidentals

At least David Sinclair is doing something to help people...what are you guys doing? Laughing and doing "podcasts"??? Really gonna change our lives are ya? Don't think so...just like all the other med researchers who will die long before anything meaningful is achieved. Sinclair, expressly states that at least they may be able to reverse some of the hallmark signs of aging ... thats not misleading at all. But if you twist it further, to say more than that, then it is you who has created the controversy, and then people like you can waste our time with unnecessary arguing and tripe like this...

No. More medical care is delivered to older people. Longevity medicine may improve health of some older people and increase lifespan but this just produces a larger market for pharmaceutical compounds.

That's an interesting discussion. Thanks for sharing. I didn't know that David had Adam Neumann as a co-founder for one of his startups back then. P.S. Vivek Ramaswamy is another example of a founder cashing out before actually launching a product in his pharmaceutical startup.

There would need to be a change in the genetics to stop telomere shortening. If you start using compounds you are going to have to deal with side effects, which are massive with the chemicals that have been mentioned. Also, how do you deal with oxidation? . . . . or bad food for that matter. . . lol.

Selling an hypothetical mechanism for $720,000 million is not bad. We need more ethical scientists like Brenner calling these grifters out. Sinclair give good scientists a bad name. The problem is that eating right, exercise, sleep and social connections can't be patented. He has become rich because he is a scam artist. Beware of false prophets.

Nope. You’re confusing scientists with big pharma. If Sinclair were trying to get money, he wouldn’t have been doing over hundred interviews explaining exactly what they’re doing in his lab. Big pharma keeps stuff secret, Sinclair is trying to spread the word. And he sells and endorses exactly zero supplements. They’re not even close to similar.
