Dave is just down for whatever, he's a real gem. Great episode guys. I love that I've watched D2D since the start and I didn't know these things, so much new found respect. Oh and the Titanium wireless charging thing won't work, any type of metal between the 2 charging coil inductors will scatter the electrons so they won't reach the coil, however titanium is not a good conductor of electrical current so.... I heard Qualcomm has found a way to wireless charge through a metal body so we may see it soon. It's called WiPower and it operates at a different frequency so metal doesn't heat up which is another reason it doesn't work right now.

Agree with Dave and Jon on the App Store discussion - I'm happy in Apple's walled garden and do NOT want another app store on the iPhone. I'm wholly against the EU pushing to force Apple to allow sideloading etc. I just know it's going to butcher what the iPhone is right now. And I know trying to explain to my parents "DO NOT INSTALL THAT APP YOU GOT A LINK TO IN AN EMAIL" is quickly going to become a thing once side loading is allowed.

I wirelessly charge my iPhone 12, 13, and 14 Pro, BUT the only thing stopping me from using wireless exclusively and putting in a butt plug is needing to use wired CarPlay in my 2018 Camry. If I could update it relatively inexpensively, I’m all in. It has a wireless charger, but still needs wired CarPlay. :/

They have wireless CarPlay adapters. Check them out they work pretty well.

What I don’t get about the portless iPhone is how many peoples cars use wired CarPlay. Killing the port will kill that for most users including me…

About the battery pack, why are “tech KZreadrs” so wrong. Apple Battery pack is literally the one that charges the phone the quickest. It’s good because it’s quick and can push you to finish the day without the battery running out.
