What Crystal Meth Addiction is Like (Meth Recovery Story)

Call for meth addiction help: 866-545-8940 Pej Man shares his experience of what Crystal Meth is like. Crystal Methamphetamine (drug) or Meth for short is an incredibly powerful substance that alters your brain and its dopamine receptors.
Subscribe to learn more about addiction: bit.ly/beginningsyoutube
Pej first got into using crystal meth as a means of both weight loss and as a stimulant. After using Meth one time, you often find yourself chasing that first high.
While using Meth the first time can have powerful euphoric effects it quickly becomes a downward spiral and physically and mentally tear you apart.
Detoxing off Meth and quitting completely can be very difficult and taxing on the body. Meth is more so mentally addicting than physically addicting.
Our hope is that you found this video relatable and helpful. If you or a loved one are struggling with crystal meth addiction, please reach out for help.

I was a METH addict for 30 years, and I PROMISE YOU the Lord took away my addiction to meth, weed, smoking cigarettes, gambling, porn, prost., profanity, theft and lying. No treatment, no relapse and it has been 9 months. I am now battling depression, but I will get there. I am a walking miracle thanks to JESUS CHRIST.

Is he trying to quit? How long had he tried. I got on Fentanyl for a year and a half straight during Covid. Spending over $600 every week. I pushed my GF to her LIMIT. I'm so lucky she stuck it out. I got off dope this past January. I'm doing great and we had such a great year. I just smoke weed and do mushrooms now. I even quit drinking which I never thought would happen. I just had ENOUGH. Drugs had taken so much from me throughout my 33 years on earth. I finally got tired of it. Also full disclosure I had like 5 relapses this year along the way. But they were isolated events. I bought a small bag of dope, got high and threw up my guts for 24hrs and just didn't get more when I ran out. Relapses happen. It's how you react to them. I just examined what causes the relapse and moved on with my life. Get back to working out and normal life and not let the relapse define you and make a big deal of it.

i’m 16 years old, and i lost my dad of an overdose in May of last year. my father was an amazing one and such a great guy to everyone. it wasn’t until i was about 12 years old when he started using. i never hated him, even though we couldn’t be as close as we used to i still would be up worrying about him many nights. i prayed and prayed that he would get better. my dad went through so much when battling with addiction, and he got clean not too long before we lost him. he relapsed and we had to say goodbye. i’m watching this video to try to understand where he was coming from and i feel so guilty in ways because i know he felt guilty for what he did, but i never wanted that at all. I wanted him to find himself again and i wanted to not worry about where he was sleeping at night. but i’m here a year later ready to understand him even more than i do now. if anyone else is struggling with a similar situation, i promise you’re not alone. much love and prayers to anyone out there who’s lost someone to addiction or anyone who is dealing with addiction themself. ❤

great video. Brutally honest. been there done that. lost a bunch of my closest best friends to meth. (two are dead. one from suicide and the other from od on heroin). when on meth you hang with people who do meth and you don't trust each other. you will steal from each other and other people. I got off it by going for a walk into a nature reserve, smashing my pipes on the concrete, and then took a hammer to them. I buried the pieces of the pipes and promised myself "NEVER AGAIN!!". been sober for 6 years. I quit smoking ciggies and weed the same day. all cold turkey!

@adrianbass congratulations! May you share what your detox stage was like? We just picked up my brother in Mexico. He was living on the streets for 2 years and finally asked for help. It’s been 2 days and he has not touched a thing. He is going though the detox phase. Has the sweats and is shaky. He doesn’t want to eat and wants to be left alone. My mom in her fear of seeing him this way offered him weed. He refused. He says he doesn’t want to touch a thing. We are suffering with him and are in the process of finding him a rehab center. Did you detox on your own?

Thank you for sharing your story. I am 14 years clean. My brother in-law is still using. Trying to explain this addiction to the family is so frustrating. They think because he says he is clean, that he is. I know different. It’s really hard to be around him knowing I can easily use again. For me, it’s easier to stay clean than to get clean. I lost everything but was lucky to get it back after a lot of working on myself and working a good program with others like me. I don’t want to risk losing all that I worked so hard for again. I am so very Grateful for my life today. 🙏

I was a speed freak for nearly 30 years. Been clean for 15 years. I did something weird a few months ago. I was giving my cat medication by squirting the medicine into his mouth with a syringe ( minus the needle ) and I would clean it out with water but on this occasion I sucked the water into the syringe and started flicking out the air , pretending I was about to shoot up. Put it to my arm and pretended to inject it, I closed my eyes and my heart started to pound and for that moment I was high. After 15 years it's still there. But I'm 60 now and I know if I ever went down that road again, I'd be dead. But that will never happen . I am too strong and my life is too good now. I appreciate life so much because I really shouldn't be here. Every year on my birthday I am so grateful to put another number to my life. Every year is a bonus

Instead I remembered how I liked the feeling and other things about it. So I’m literally going to that OnE day. The day I let it go and try to remember what I was feeling that day. glenncampbell3145 I used to know someone who did meth for 14yrs. and coke for 25yrs. She ended up homeless twice, and now she's 45, 3yrs. into her battle with Lung Cancer(30yrs of chain smoking ciggies & weed). Even though she's been clean for 3yrs now, There's a 95% chance that she won't live to see 2024. I tried to be her friend, but I could tell the drugs had a permanent effect on her critical thinking, reasoning, logic & cognitive abilities. A lot of her decision making didn't make much sense. And she still flew into fits of rage. There was always an angry undertone with her. She was always extremely paranoid too. Shs trusted no one!! I tried to be her friend, but after a few months, I couldn't take her neurosis & manipulation anymore, even though she has been in recovery for 3yrs. I had to cut her out of my life. She was toxic and borderline crazy even after What's really sad is how many times she's hit rock bottom but she still persisted on chasing that high regaedless how low in her life she fell. She only quit when She lost custody of her 5y/o son(struck him in the head with an iPad in a fit of rage), was charged with a restraining order, and the family courts got involved. Now that she has less than a yr to live, I hope that she finds some peace of mind in her last months alive. Truly sad.

You know the problem with people is that they are quitters weak because they run into a issue they were part of creating and they find themselves with a challenge and they run in the opposite direction.cowardly and mentally afraid lying to themselves that its ok as long as you dont see the shit you help create and say you feel sorry for him .shame on you and everyone else that gives up on anyone period.because the truth is it all will have is way of coming back around.you know how i know this to be so .walk out side and look around you see the fucking chaos in society the emptiness the emotionaless confused hate filled society thats what happenes to society when we turned our back on another human being wether it be a loved one or a stranger we find ourselves in a world like today and this society will not preceded to exist for the damage is done as we have rape mother earth for the neglect in nature is the same as neglect we gave to others.

Yes exactly. I wish like hell I would have never discovered pain meds. Worst thing that ever happened to me. I was hooked for about 12 years. They have totally rewritten my brain chemistry. I know that just one doesn't work at all. I'm screwed if I would actually really need them. The temptation and want never goes away even though I've been clean for almost 5 years. I know that I am relieved and better. Not only that but the chase gets old. I'm glad I didn't move on to heavier substances.

Man you nailed it. I tried it when I was 20 and was stuck on it for a lil over a year. I went from a healthy stoner with a job to some garage rat. Once you start picking your face its over. I hid from my family and friends and was a complete mess. Whats even more crazy is I signed up for Junior college and joined the wrestling team as I was a stud in high school. Everyone knew and I only lasted a few weeks. Some months later I was tweakin in the garage and watched 911 happen. 2000-2001 was a blur. I finally looked in the mirror one day and said to myself who tf are you!! I knew I had to stop so I quit cold turkey. I slept and ate for months and got healthy again. Im glad I was young and mentally strong enough to quit. I thank god for carrying me during those times. Meth is for sure the devils dandruff. Im 40 now and just glad to still be alive. I forgot to add it was my ex GFs mom who hung out with bikers and they let me hit the pipe. They would eventually become my “friends” STAY TF AWAY FROM METH

My lover and I were together 26 years. During primarily the last year he became "demonic" as you put it. He was a drug and alcoholism counselor so I didn't suspect drugs. I assumed it had something to do with his job which had problems because of budget cuts. We broke up because he had become emotionally abusive. About a year after leaving someone overdosed and died in our (now his) house. A few months later he was arrested for trafficking and a few more months and he committed suicide. I found out he had been using meth nearly 5 years before we broke up. I just thought I was getting old and couldn't keep up. Really. He went from being one of the most well respected drug, alcohol and HIV treatment facilitators in Cincinnati to laying dead on our back patio because he was tempted by that shit. I lost everything in the process having to start completely over at 59. His family was basically ruined.

@mandydavis959 I read up on it after his suicide. I had done meth probably about a half dozen times during the 80s before we met. I noticed it was something you definitely didn't want to do more than once every 6 months or so and just decided to stay away from. According to what I read he probably had developed meth psychosis by then. At that point there wasn't much of an opportunity to get through to him. Powerful shit.

I was addicted to crack and it was just like you describe meth to be like...I’m clean almost 21 yrs but you bought me right back to what it was like. Great reinforcement! Those who forget are destined to repeat...thank you
